Welcome To Survival-Russia. One of the very best Outdoors and Survival related communities on RU-vid, and yes, It's a pretty good Channel too.
My name is Lars. I'm From Denmark but I live in Rural Russia now. I live at a Homestead in wild nature surrounded by a huge forest.
On The Survival-Russia channel we do all things related to the Outdoors Lifestyle. I share my thoughts and experiences on Survival Techniques for the woodlands of the Northern Hemisphere. the Reality of Survival. I share Techniques and ways of the Siberian Tribesmen and the Russian Longhunters of the older days. Things not shown outside of Russia very much.
On this Channel we also do Off-Road driving, Vehicle builds, Metal Detecting, all things Outdoors basically. Enjoy!

Fascinating video about you on the Russian Code channel. I understand exactly why you feel the way you do about Denmark today. Where you are now, you are still able to experience what it is to be a real human being. May you and your family enjoy the freedom of the vast Siberian forest. All the best with the house build. 'Troubled Past' .. 'Double double toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble' .. a witches brew, often the pot best lidded, taken off the fire and forgotten. Good Morning Lars .. The house is coming on nicely .. it is nice to be part of the 'peanut gallery', munching on popcorn whilst watching your labours 😁. History .. depending .. some best shelved whilst moving on. Am looking forward to your next post. Here in my part of Switzerland, we finally have winter (of a sort). First snow yesterday with temperature forecast tomorrow sunrise -8°C. However, nothing 'Russian' about it 😊. Take care, yourself and the Family .. stay warm .. Tommy

The humidity in the basement seems high, here we use a "vapor barrier" in newer structures that do not have concrete underneath. Just some plastic sheeting (6-12 mil) over the earth, with the seams taped. However this is a newer practice and many homes were just built over bare earth or gravel for decades. I think only since the 90's are the vapor barriers standard.

Ah, Lars, it was lovely to see your brilliant and beautiful wife and children on that video. I guess I'm far from your typical viewer, I love seeing how you have adapted to living a self sustaining life in harmony with the natural world around you. You are creating a good, healthy life for your family while avoiding the rampant consumerism that wreaks havoc on our planet. Well done you. But I hate seeing unnecessary, pointless (except, apparently, for getting views) suffering. Channels like that pander to the lowest common denominator of "humanity". For example the few clips I have seen of Bear Grylls are absolutely disgusting - as a woman I am repulsed (can't imagine "keeping company" with him - I know where that mouth has been...). What I love about your channel is watching your adventures in the forest, camping with friends, exploring the old settlements, finding and repurposing the materials left behind. I love the videos where you show how to build your woodland camps and live well off the land. These are valuable skills to pass on, forgotten skills our ancestors used to live well. I love watching you build your homestead, always working on making a better, healthier life for your family (and your awesome dog). These are the videos that have kept me coming back over the years, not the ones where you torture yourself - so I guess I'm not your "typical" viewer - but then, I'm not an adolescent, bored male. I've had my own challenging adventures, and now enjoy watching good people building community, working together to live in harmony.

In the U.S. code requires that you install a vapor barrier in a crawlspace ..... i.e. where you're crawling around at the beginning of this video. This helps to keep the moisture level down so that your joists & subfloor don't rot. That makes sense, although I just did it because it was code. Any similar code in Russia?
