I'm staying entertained in the cabin with tattoos, plans for the shooting range and shows on my home movie theater. I LOVE winter, especially with a tiny, heated cabin to ride out the worst of it.

Use the old tank to make a rocket stove, and then incorporate it into the kitchen build to heat an oven so you can bake -- fresh breads, biscuits, and roasts!!! Great way to maximize the heat when burning scrap woods.

Cut it in half long ways. Weld 4 steel legs to it and you have the bottom of a grill. Then weld the top to the bottom using some of those door hinges. Make a few air holes for vents on the bottom and the top. Find an old grill sheet that you can put the food on to to grill.

Very good answer ! The cotter pin Ryan showed in the video is a "split cotter pin." A good reusable alternative is the "Harken" AKA "R-Type" cotter pin.

The old propane tank would make a great wood stove for the outdoor kitchen and I agree the old sky deck would be better repurposed for other things such as porch roof. My wife and I think you should build a large pole barn to mill under and store your wood and do large projects under. Can’t wait for the kitchen build

Quick tip when cutting a propane bottle. Fill the bottle with water all the way until it overflows ,that pushes any remaining fuel vapors out of the tank before you let the sparks fly. Cheers 🍻

Thanks Ryan. A trick I learned with My ATV plow, drive over the Frame.( Since My Winch is a Dedicated lift winch, it picks the Plow frame dead vertical ) connect the winch and pick the plow up off the ground a bit that way I can push it around with my Foot, Up, down, Left, Right to line up the pin holes. Connect the hydraulics and go plow... Cut the tank Lengthwise, Fire box for under the Hot Tub... Fill it full of Water before cutting..

Hey Ryan! You rock, my girlfriend and I love to watch your videos. We think you and Sarah are so cute together. Maybe turn that propane tank into a wood fired pizza oven?? 🍕 But be really careful about cutting into it, definitely need to watch a few videos on how to do it safely or you can blow yourself up, no joke. Even when you think it's empty the propane can leave an oil residue that slowly off gasses. You need to wash it out with soapy water and cut it while it's filled with water, ect.. Be safe bud, thanks for keeping it real at Ringworm 🪱

Ok, I have a ton of ideas on what to do with the 100 pound propane cylinder. Of course after the valve has been safely removed and filled and emptied with water for safety purposes. I can bet Ryan would want to do something crazy. Hook an eye loop on each end and a chain. Attach to a tree and you got yourself a challenging bull riding machine when 2 people are at each end pulling a rope to see who can stay on the longest. I do like the idea of creating a bell or hanging light covers, grill, smoker, wood stove and so many other ideas, though.

I applaud your dedication to real showers regardless of the weather. Depending the weather I would go the easy route and just stay inside with a bucket of water and wipes, old school style. But I'm also a softy indoorsy person. Do you ever plan to do the skirting on the cabin to up the insulation of the floor? Was just reminded of that because it's getting colder for you. When it comes to the old tank, keep it for your kitchen build
@daviddarlingauthor

Not that you really respond to comments (bandwidth) but tear down that shelter you drove under, and repurpose as an overhang and sidewall, off your cabin's door. Provide some shelter, and a temporary outdoor kitchen protected by the elements. Use that old propane tank as a wood stove - dozens of tutorials online.
@trinarock8643
@trinarock8643 5 месяцев назад
I think he uses that overhanging shelter as a "drive through " garage to store things he uses on the property as well as a garage for his 4 wheeler to keep it out of the elements.
@kimberlyljacobs5186

I'm surprised you didn't get a wood stove for you're cabin..Propane makes a good back up, but just the dead fall alone should keep you heated every winter..It doesn't matter if that wood lies on the ground or you burn it, it's carbon is going to be transformed back into the carbon cycle..Those old propane containers make good wood stoves...LOL

I apply that same concept to a tank that’s been modified as a roller to pull behind a tractor. Except I use it to roll in grass or cover crop seed to soft soil. I fill the tank with water to increase compaction. Rolling in seed makes a huge difference in germination.

Cotter pin is the term you were looking for. Those wires that secure them are a pain for certain :) Clovis pins (yes, they are a thing) are commonly found on old external backpack frames (the pin has a hole in the shaft and is often secured with a key ring style hoop). As to why I retain this esoteric knowledge -- who knows?

Ryan, as far as the used propane tank is concerned, a stove/furnace/smoker or BBQ grill are most common. As you shun common on the regular, it could become some artform. Possibly with additions a various stages of life. But, a welder would be your friend , or torches/metal-sticking consumables of your choice, to accomplish any alteration The thickness of cylinder wall has good radiant capabilities. Another would be to use it as an expansion tank in a closed hydronic heating system, like for the cabin floor.

100lb tank is steel, would make an awesome kitchen. Cut in half top to bottom, put a propane tree in thru the hole and you could put multiple burners on it; singles like the one you just made popcorn on or a coleman or other 2 burner/grill type and a small bbq. And hinge the halves so it has a lid to keep the critters and elements out!!
