I know nothing about NFL history, being an Australian I don’t really follow it but mannnnn... these NFL docos are addictive and captivating. A Football Life is amazing.
Dustin Harrison exactly!! Football is truly a 2 team sport. So you can’t put it all on any one player. Thats why Payton is the greatest player to me. Because he came as close to carrying a football team as you can
I hate, hate, hate the measuring bar being SB wins. LT and Dan Marino are with out question amongst the top 5 all-time at their positions. (oooo. and Fran Tarkenton) As soon as someone sez, "well, SB wins..." I stop taking them seriously as an NFL lover. Oh. You are a fan. But you don't get it.
Championships don’t effect the legacy of players in positions like this. No one says a DT wasn’t great because he doesn’t have any rings. QB and head coach are the only positions in football where wins and losses matter
What a great woman his mother is. Hats off to all the young mothers out there doing whatever they must for their kids! You're the most important person in the world! Some of the greatest, most powerful and important people in the world got their training at home with mama! That's what's up, for real! You're beautiful!
@TadTod27 duh his mom is the reason he turned out how he did clearly give her credit his dad wssnt there so thats root of his personality . stop hating damn give black women they credit when its due
Don’t forget women don’t have sport genes🤨 men do not trying to hating on women but they don’t so yeah he can credit his mom but his dad gave him the genes
This man is the reason I ever picked up a football. The first football game I ever watched was a Chargers Broncos game and I’d never forget it. The man who I looked up too. Had a career and will always be my the best running back to ever play in my eyes.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't tear up when LT and his mom read that letter that he sent her when he was still in high school. He's such a legend in so many ways. 💙
I am lifelong Bronco fan but have always loved LaDainian Tomlinson. Having him in the same division wasn't fun but I'm a football fan first. He was one of the greatest running backs ever. He could do it all, run, catch, block and throw for TD's. The best thing about LTII (I'm old, so he's LTII) was who he was/is as a human being. You hear the stories from his Mom and people that knew him in his youth and he was a good person back then. God bless.
Tomlinson's prime in San Diego was probably my favourite season of football to follow. Not that I'm a huge fan of football, but mans delivered beyond expectation every week.
LaDainian Tomlinson, undeniably a super star and a man of great integrity with humility that sets him apart from most others, and you know who you are!!
Patrick Gray seriously though, you lose 2 games and to the pats and suddenly ur outta there? Ownership def got told to fuck right off with some ridiculous request mid season n they remembered that in the offseason idk some drama bs like that that the chargers shot themselves in the foot over
They should play these in high schools and at seminars this is true inspiration...the one sentence from his Mama about drinking and that boy stopped that is love that saves lives
I remember meeting Mr. LT at the airport in Miami when I was 16yrs old and I can remember thinking how in the hell is this guys so small but plays so big, I thought I've played RB's in high school bigger, lol absolutely one of my favorite players and persons of all time very humble cool person
He truly was, one of the greatest athletes if not special human beings we'll ever see. There won't be another LaDainian Tomlinson folks! Just no way anyone can replicate what he did on the field.
As a Raider fan I hated how many times LT killed the Raiders. I couldn’t help but respect and admire his talent, he’s one of the greatest to ever do it.
Wow, I knew LT was an all time phenomenal athlete, but he’s an even better human being. When your entire team rallies behind you like that, you know you’re doing something right. I have such a deep respect for individuals are truly exceptional and always remain humble and calm.
jimmy king I agree. Reliving all these hard losses. I remember going to all the home games, including playoffs, during LT era. Sucked we couldn’t win anything.
Seriously bro, LT leaving our Chargers was a fuckin heartbreak cause we know they did him wrong just like they did Marty. I hope they don’t do the same to Herbie n Staley.
I always get emotional no matter how many times I watch this… Was a treat and more to witness his greatness during my lifetime. the legend of Lightning and Thunder will always live on in SD as well as the football world. 21 forever ⚡️⚡️⚡️
This is the perfect example that a mother with hardships can raise a son to be morally driven, god fearing, responsible and well mannered even with an absent father. LT is the perfect role model on/off the field. I can see Walter Peyton and Emitt Smith’s influences down to the soft spoken tone when he speaks. His mom should be very proud of how her son turned out. I’ve had friends with absent fathers who no doubt would have went down the wrong path if not for having one of those special mothers who were successful in having perfect balance between love and discipline. In today’s society, to raise children to focus on their education and future instead of the streets and negative influences takes “creative” parenting or more accurately “committed” parenting. You can tell how amazing LT’s mother is just by how he conducts himself. Great story
People always think football players are supposed to be giants but it’s all about heart . Few players that have once the first hit was laid . LT was a the epitome of that guy who had heart on the field.
Went to camp LT in waco texas held at Baylor university. He gave us young men the same experience emmitt smith did for him except we was in highschool. It was hard as hell but one the best camps ever. Whoever went will 100% remember coach hurricane.
One of my ROLE MODELS, Beast on the field, class act off the field. Beautiful wife and family and had the respect of millions of people!! Well done Ladainian Tomlinson!! 💪💪🏈🏈🎇🎇⚡⚡🏃🏃🏆🏆
I may have been young when I watched him in his prime but one thing I will never forgot, how he DOMINATED this game. Seen very few players do it the same way
It’s hard to objectively measure who the GOAT RB is in NFL history. So many different statistics and longevity to factor in... But one argument for LT being the greatest ever: he has the greatest prime of any RB ever. From 02-07, he racked up totals in yds and touchdowns that most of the other greats were only able to attain over the course of a decade or more. People see his overall stats and forget how quickly he achieved them and how incredible that is. LT, Barry, and Walter Payton top 3 in my book.
Is sucks Tomlinson never won a superbowl, I wanted him to win one . I'm not that much of a Chargers fan but, the Jets are one of my top 5 favorite AFC teams so when he went to the Jets I was happy and really thought he could have won a superbowl but, he's still a hall of famer!
I used to HATE LaDainian lol. Being a broncos fan.. he burned us for years being in same division. And then 2007 he broke a record for most TDS in a season and it was on my broncos. But watching this, gives me a lot of respect for his journey.
Y’all notice the high school coach said something about his size but then think he never started till his senior year so either the people who played over him must have been all stars in high school or they also judged him for his size.
Never knew that tid bit of info at the end of the 2006 Divisional against the patriots. That’s the definition of a leader. LT must’ve felt awesome when he beat them in 2010 with the Jets
I always watched him play against us as a Broncos fan growing up but didn't really know much about him. What a great player and an all around great guy.
The Chargers organization made a HUGE mistake letting Marty go. Who does that after a 14-2 season?? They should have kicked the GM azz out! They were never the same since...
I’m from waco and my high school was rivals with university and I can attest he is the only good football player out of that school… but what a guy he is and I’ve always looked up to him he is and always be my favorite running back of all time I hope to meet him someday!
LT is the epitome of poise and class. Of course he was one of the greatest of all time as a player. But you can’t put a price on his locker room impact.
Had the pleasure of meeting Him and Brian Urlacher in '07 at a Vitamin Water signing. And from that brief 30-60 second encounter I must agree he sure was.
We went to the same school in 8th grade, good sized school so I never was around him much. But I remember him vividly. Mostly because I'd see his name all over the track meet results. I thought holy shit this guy's a beast. But main thing I noticed about him was how different he was to everyone else, he was calm, confident, respectful and quiet, all of which made him stand out because that school was borderline chaos.. He minded his own business and treated everyone w respect.
M Frusciante that’s great to hear. Honestly it’s kind of rare to see pro athletes be humble and respectful even in high school because a lot of times, they were the opposite when they were in high school Lol
I never knew his story until now, and I now know there was a reason I loved this guy. I was not a chargers fan, but I was an LT fan, and never missed his highlights for the week. This just made it that much sweeter, to see how great of a man he was on and off the field. Wow, what a real class act man.
Fcking greatest player i ever saw at Qualcomm & thats without a doubt. I really feel like he is the LAST Great Running back who was as important as the qb himself.
