Great weld repair on the firewall support brackets. Be aware that if you have to replace any fasteners, Model Ts did not use any Phillips screws, they are all slotted. Most of the nuts are square, but there were a few places that used hex nuts.

I really appreciate the quiet nature of these builds. Well done. Looking forward to the next 356 video. That's what brought me to the channel, but I got hooked on them all! Thanks, and Woof to Walter.

This brings back memories for me...my dad and I restored a '32 Model A in the mid 70's. He ran a small paint and body shop.... I wish I still had that Model A!!!

It’s great you are saving this model T for many to enjoy. This restored-driver condition is also a lot more interesting than a concours restoration. Where’s Walter?

On my 1923 Model T Runabout, the nameplate (with the patent numbers) is on the engine side of the firewall, visible from the engine compartment. Also, the split rivets holding the webbing in place around the firewall have the "split" part on the inside so they will not scratch the finish of the hood.

I was surprised the see the domed pistons. The crank looks like something from the age of steam. The two rails on either side of the engine don't seem robust enough to do what they do. A lot of people have many projects going on at the same time and often don't come back to what one tuned into. Having the start to finish series is fantastic and the speed is perfect.

...sadly simple was the way of the future lol. if we retooled today to make cars as simple as a model t. Every one could have a car. but today all car manufactureres are in a race with them self's to make it in more parts and make it completely unserviceable.. trash can cars. they ware out you just chip them up for their bare metals.. and plastics.

I don't know if I could work on the T everyday with those eyes watching me through the windshield...you need to replace the 'mini' with a Fiat 850...then you'd have "Luigi" from "Cars" to go with your 'T' LOL!! NICE JOB!

Why did you choose not to take the whole car apart and sandblast and paint it?
@Jerod_Helt
@Jerod_Helt 3 года назад
I don’t think all old cars need to look new to be enjoyed. It’s ok for them to show their age. Also these are not very valuable so I’m already spending more on it then it will be worth in the end.
@sandervdbrink84
@sandervdbrink84 3 года назад
@@Jerod_Helt then two following questions. How do you make sure the metal parts aren't too far rusted and keep on rusting at the spots where you can't reach it with a brush? Second, what is the average price of such a car in this state (episode 1)? I'd love to have such a car, but over here they're quite expensive (the Netherlands). P.s. forgot to say: love these videos. Have been binge watching them the whole evening!
@Jerod_Helt
@Jerod_Helt 3 года назад
@@sandervdbrink84 I live in a very dry area so rust isn’t much of an issue, but I spray rust reformer in the areas I can’t reach with a brush. I paid $3,500 for this car. Nicely restored cars usually sell for less than $10,000. The cost to restore this one would probably be $20,000 - $30,000. And it would only be worth about $10,000 when complete.
