the Milk Bottle is part of the Children museum. It is open in the summer as an ice cream store. It was built years ago in a different location by Arthur Gagner to sell his ice cream. After being abandoned, folks in Boston got Hood Milk to buy it and donate in to the Library. Its Hoods, be good.
I grew up in Boston and got dragged to Denver Colorado 23 years ago You went over the Lenny Zekem bridge which is a bridge named after the forementioned who was a huge philanthropist in the Boston area and died of brain cancer. The bridge is lit up at night which is beautiful I followed your adventures through saugus and Malden yesterday in Medford brought back some great memories for me I really miss my home
Got to say, Being a Bostonian, I'm loving ATW Boston Vids!! You could spend months here there's so much to do & video. You surely got your steps in on this video, you covered some serious ground! And you were suppose to get a cannoli at Mike's, thats what they are famous for! Please, Keep these Boston videos coming Adam!! add on, The Seaport area is the big coming area now, used to be parking lots and big old mill buildings and the train yard. The seaport is its own city within a city.
Love seeing my town from someone else's perspective! Next time you're in the city check out the New England Aquarium! The seals are out front and you can see them for free.
Hood makes a Pumpkin Eggnog that my Mom is crazy about. However, here in TN, she begins the annual search around September but doesn't find it often. Would be really cool to order a beverage or snack from their giant milk bottle!
Loved this Video.. I took my wife to the oyster house for our wedding anniversary. The food was unreal .. we sat on the second floor. Also ate at Mikes and the one across the street also to see Paul Revere’s house in the rain. Love that part of town. Great memories, thanks Adam
That Starbucks is refered to as the steaming kettle. It used to be a old tea house long before Starbucks took it over. There was actually a huge fight by people to keep it up there. When they first opened the location they wanted to thanks it down because they have to run a water line up there and maintain it to keep that going all the time.
The Lobster tail 🦞 pastry is supposed to be like that ,crunchy outer shell & soft white "lobstermeat" looking cream filling, that was the perfect example of a Lobstertail pastry
I was just going to say that. The Lobster Tail is supposed to be crisp and crunchy outside. When going to Mike's though, you really should have gone for the canoli. That's what they're really famous for. Them and Modern Pastry up the street "compete" for the best in town. When I say compete, I really mean that people always compare and pit them against each other. Also, you briefly showed the Paul Revere statue in the video but if you looked back behind it, its the Old North Church. The church where Paul Revere arranged to have the lanterns hung up in the steeple to warn against the British arriving in the city. "One if by Land, Two if by Sea."
@TheDailyWoo it's so cool that you are in my neck of the woods. My gf and I have watched you since the beginning! It's so cool to see you at the FAO Bear. That hospital is my 'home away form home'. I've had 38 surgeries (im physically disabled) there, and my girlfriend worked there! Keep up the great work! Would love to meet you sometime!
Hey Adam! Met you in Boston Last year at a Red Sox game...You were nice enough to take a picture with my kids who are fans of you as well. Glad to see you back in the city!
Love when you travel and show us the places I may never see love Boston but never been! Thank you for showing us the cheers! Would love to see that some time! Thank you Adam for the vlog
Love this place , the dunkin is in Medford, Ma , I work outta there sometimes.. I also park at Boston commons all the time to venture Boston … been to cheers n stuff.. was a big sitcom for a lot of people .. I was amazed by the Tupperware history and was created right here in mass , Leominster,Mass .. such a good visit and video.. 💪❤️💯
if you look up the history on that massive steaming tea pot over Starbucks it's very interesting :) Also those ducks in the park have a children's book about them. Love all the history in s such a great city!
BOSTON really is amazing, a lot of America's History came through there. Most of New England is pretty Cool. Check out Rhode Island sometime. Providence has a lot of old history to share. Great Vlog, Adam ! Thank You !
You MUST go to the Boston aquarium, Faneuil hall (walking distance from the aquarium), and take a trip to Apex entertainment in Marlborough. Apex is a massive indoor arcade, goats, axe throwing etc
Love that the title is “unusual spots” and it begins with a Boston-area Dunkin. The irony is strong with this one. Yessssss. Yesssss. You want this. Great vid as always Adam!
Yeah the only thing that might be considered unusual in that is the bookstore with the outside area. I love just browsing through and seeing what gem there might be.
My brother lived in Hartford in the early 80’s. I visited him once and we spent the night in Boston. We visited that bar and had a beer. The name of the bar was The Bull and Finch. I’m surprised that there’s no sign showing that. The Freedom Trail is an amazing walk.
I really enjoyed this video on this beautiful and historical city. If in the furture you ever get the chance, visit Quincy it's not far from Boston and is the city of presidents, The Adams -2 and 6th Presidents. Lots of history there , the Crypt where they are buried, the mansion and birth places, the flagship Dunkin Donuts and so much more. Ty TDW for visiting the beautiful state of Massachusetts and showing some places i have not yet seen, as a native born resident.
I love these videos! It's good to break away from theme parks and branch out around the country. You have to stop in Rhode Island some day. Newport has a lot to check out.
I know hanging out with you and Derek would be a great time. I wish there was a map in a corner of this one. I've read Robert B. Parker "Spenser" novels for decades, but whenever I'm in Boston, I'm always a little turned around, not really sure where things are in relation to each other. Great video, Adam!
The Lobster tail pastry wasn't "stale". It's supposed to be crispy. If it's soft it's soggy. To keep it fresh, the filing shouldn't be piped into it until it's purchased. I've never had one with chocolate on it. My fav pastry. I miss Boston. Enjoyed watching your video of my old stomping ground.
My fathers family lives in Revere Peabody and Lynne. It used to take us 6 hours from upstate NY to Revere before I 84 and the Mass Pike. Should take you 4 hours from NYC to Boston on I 95. You were making my mouth water eating the pastries. Bet they were good. Enjoyed the video . Thanks for sharing.
The FAO Shwartz was located in Copley Sq (closer to Arlington station off the green line) at 440 Boylston St. I went there a couple of times when it was open back in the day, just to browse. As for the Milk Bottle, thats been there for about 40 years. I remember seeing it as a kid, when I used to go to the Children's Museum. Hood is the brand name- local milk brand. It might be a seasonal cafe, that's why it was closed. Also you were in the area for many shooting locations for Blown Away. You are also kinda close to some shooting locations for Karate Kid 4, if you are interested. They shot some scenes in the town of Brookline at the high school. Brookline is also the home of JFK and Conan O'Brien. Regarding the Chinatown area where you mentioned that a theater could have been there- that area was known as the Combat Zone , where you had a lot of adult theaters/peep shows back in the day. Also the Tea party boat is not the actual one. The real one was much larger if I remember my history correctly. I'm not sure how long you are staying, but I can recommend other areas to visit if you are interested.
That used to be the Palace Theater where the Navy kept a paddy wagon out front every Friday and Saturday night. Jay Leno played there. Never saw him but they had some really good jazz music at that time. Close by used to be Charles Steet, a little annex next to the Prince Spaghetti House on Washington Street. They had much better-looking dancers who would join you at the bar. I was still underage then.
Oh man!! I had the BEST donut at Dunkin’s in Salem!!! We loved cheers and loved the food (but I do love bar food) Glad you’re doing these great videos!!!
Now that was A Squirrel😍being from the North East, living in FL...I’ve always said the Squirrels look Sickly here!!! They are So scrawny and have the thinnest tails! Now that I saw that one, I remember that’s how they should look
Only Adam's video's you will capture squirrels doing the most strangest things . EX: walking on top of a hedge, eating a PB & J in WDW & many more other thingggs.
Grew up watching that series and happy I got to visit the place back in 2008. Had a piece of boston cream pie along with, of course, a beer in a souvenir mug. Boston was a really nice looking place and a offered a great day trip from NYC.
I forget, what was the original name of the "Cheers" bar? Wasn't it Bulfinch or something? Enjoyed your video like usual. "The Embrace" is a powerful work of art. Those Penny Farthing bikes must be hard to ride. I live two doors down from one of the Schwarz grandchildren. He's in his 70s.
The Cheers bar is awesome. My favorite parts of Boston was the Cheers bar, Fenway Park and walking around and taking in the sights. There used to be another Cheers location at the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. It's now permanently closed. I have been there many times including the Cheers bar. The food is great as well. The best part of the video was the cream on Adam's face. Classic Woo. Thanks for sharing.
Adam. My friend. So close to gold. You travel from celebration and your standing in mikes pastry. But you don’t get a cannoli? Wow. You were so close man. Ahhahaha
