I remember getting god hand and not understanding it at all. I didn't really like it. For whatever reason, I picked it up again a few years later and got HOOKED. That was maybe 10 years ago but I still think about it often.

my first question when someone praises a 3d beat em up is: "does it plays like god hand? how close to it is it?". To me this one is the peak of brawler action, it will never get better than this and we will never have another game like it, right now humor is dead and "accessibility" is what sells, and no big game is done without corpo crap getting in the way, a hard game with a humor and gameplay that gives no fucks about feelings, and a lot of gameplay customization...yeah, this is the one and only.

I tend to not think of God Hand as a really difficult game, largely because I was able to beat it, without resorting to cheating or exploits. (Or emulator conveniences, I bought God Hand at release and played it on a real PS2.) Despite some really ugly spots, that puts it in an "easier" category for me than something like NES Castlevania or even something like Viewtiful Joe. Yes, I say Viewtiful Joe is more difficult than God Hand, as I couldn't bring myself to beat VJ without using a cheat device to work around the garbage move unlock system and the later overlong boss fights where bosses have health bars that are about four times longer than is even reasonably fun.
