A look inside the Neumann NDH 20 - headphone design review 

I just got a pair yesterday, and I really enjoyed the tear down video! It's nice to know that they're as well made on the inside as they seem to be on the outside. :)

I suspect the offcentric speaker placement is not to feed standing waves also. In speakers you always put the driver at 1/3 of the enclosure length in a Voight pipe. Makes the bass much smoother, but the principle works at all frequencies.

I got that clip off that you didn't want to (I had to as the arm snapped on mine and I had to swap) the trick is the prize out from the top that's what the hole that is paired with the piece above it is for,

Just picked up a pair of the black ones. Was curious if I chose well. Seems I did.

why would anyone refuse a balanced pair of ndh20? those who would, have obviously never dealt with tube preamps and stuff, where you could hear the current streaming in and out together with almost all radio stations around. and balanced connection makes it all go away and provides dead silence. I would like to find out more, should it be only a cable or should anything be changed inside the cup? and I think I saw somebody saying that their new NDH30 with vowen cable is balanced.

How did you put the ear pad back? Mine has come out and cannot figure to put back.

I’ve got a pair of these and also the Shure SRH940’s. The Shures are clearer to my ears. I guess I prefer them for critical listening but the build materials are plastic and I see that they break a lot. I wish they had the metal build like these Neumans. Do you think it’s possible to switch the drivers and wiring to put the 940 drivers and electronics into the Neumann housing? Or would that be bad?😮 🤡 seriously though. Do you think it would work with some slight modifications or do you think the cups would change the driver sound too much if it even were possible? Thanks

Thanks for the video :_) I got at pair two days ago - all of a sudden the left side stopped working. I put them back in the box and tried again the next day. Then it worked - BUT after 1 hour they stopped working.... Gonna return them. Dont think I´m going back to another pair since I´m very disapointed in Neumann. Expected more from them. What could be wrong ?

Im wondering... would it be possible to switch the hinges around given the fact that these headphones cant be placed on the table in its earpads straight when you take them off your head? You know what I meant right? basically cos the cable goes into the right and the way the earpads turn you can either only place them on the table over the aluminion earpads unless you fully turn the headphones around.
