Randomly generating TF2 weapons is a lot of fun. It's just too bad all of the current generators are stuck in DashNet. This new one, though, is Python based, so we've effectively moved from the stone age to the iron age as far as weapon generator tech goes. But does that make it better, or just flashier? Only you (and me in this video) can be the judge of that! Oh, and because there are actual settings now, I've decided to do something different with the tier list portion of the video.

Honestly the whole "Mini explosion in your hands" thing makes me think you just... take 2 damage every time you shoot your weapon because it's build is just that bad

23:26 "On Shot" = when you fire the weapon You lose 2 hp every time you fire this weapon because the gunpowder to fire the bleeding shrapnel is literally so powerful that its backblast causes damage to yourself. That's how I interpret that anyway

H u h ... I just got a really interesting Sniper Rifle ... Heals up to +3 HP per second, while not taking damage On Headshot: +30% damage On Hit: Makes enemies unable to reload weapons for 2 seconds Can see the HP of enemies Reduced falloff damage correction 30% more bullet spread On Miss: Next reload will be 50% slower Heals up to 3 HP per second when not taking damage: Yes, please, this is really really useful if you are the kinda Sniper who just can't seem to stay outta trouble Headshots deal 30% more damage: Headshotting machine! Imagine this with exploding headshots! On Hit: Enemies cannot reload weapons for 2 seconds: Eh- that's situational but I can see it working. Can see the HP of enemies: Situationally useful, but terrible against spies. Reduced falloff damage correction: I'm sorry what? Sniper rifles don't *get* falloff +30% bullet spread: I- okay? Sniper rifles don't have bullet spread- but if you're *adding* bullet spread then ... hrmm ... On Miss: Next reload will be 50% slower: Yes, finally, an actually applicable downside!

The creator of the generator, CulturedShrimp, has given a bit of clarification to some of the stuff I wasn't sure about! > First of all: CulturedShrimp is Bulgarian, not Russian, and the generator is made in JavaScript, not Python as I had assumed. Whoops. > "On Shot" is supposed to mean every time you fire the weapon, so most of you in the comments are correct about that one. > I was right about "falloff damage correction" as it affects how fast weapon damage falls off > "Usage time" is a stat that's supposed to generate on lunchboxes instead of throwables, and it would effectively make the consumption animation faster. Huge shoutout to this guy for being communicative and active with his development!

Tbh, the heavy support pan would be really funny when paired with the steak sandvich, you'd basically just become an actual tf2 support civilian, which I think is awesome. Definitely a gimmick though. Civilian heavy

Don't pair it with the sandvich. Have it Replace the sandvich as a primary healing tool. Use a shotgun as a secondary instead. Pan #14 gives you heals and firing speed when you spycheck (if it's a teammate). That's META.

@@fantastikboom1094 Great Blue was complaining about the phrase "On Hit Teammate" and calling it grammatically incorrect even though the stats of official weapons contain that exact phrase, so it's not the fault of the weapon generator developer.

the backpack for sniper at 31:15 would actually be great. it would be literally the only thing that give sniper any form of mobility boost, letting him get where he needs to faster, and get to some new spots using higher jumps. And the increased air control lets you surf damage way more effectively if you get caught out.

Actually I think you're right! I was thinking it useless because all of the stats applied to mobility and I thought, wait, sniper stays still though. But you're right this would actually GIVE HIM mobility options!

@@quonit37 yeah, literally the only ways to give sniper more mobility right now are a soldier using the disciplinary action or some of the mannpower powerups, neither of which you will reliably have in a normal match.

i actaully think seeing enemy health is really strong, knowing what players are below 150 hp can help you know who to pick off, and since sniper is long range they could easily tell their team how much health people have

For #11 you overlooked the -15 hp on miss, which assuming each flame is a unique shot would kill you as fast as a phog pyro kills a scout

19:55 scout's actually really good at doing damage in mvm if you're good enough; believe it or not, a fully upgraded shortstop is one of the best tank-busting weapons in the game! (of course, you should still prioritize getting all of the money before going out to fight the bots, and milking the robots is always going to help your team.)

32:01 extra running speed could give you an edge in sniper duels, as well as the increased jump height and air strafing control. Sniper currently has zero mobility options, so something that offers him extra mobility would fill a niche sniper currently lacks.

30:49 That's actually a perfect name for that weapon, The Glass Canon! Maybe it's made of glass and when you get hit by an enemies explosion the weapon would shatter causing you to bleed and not be able to use it for a few seconds, similar to the spycicle.

Ngl the 6th item would actually make heavy the strongest medic pocket. If my math is right, it would mean heavy has 495 total health, and 420 with the quick fix. Thats enough to survive a fully charged headshot, while giving the heavy some insanely good survivability when paired with the quick fix. Especially since he'll move just a bit faster, and be unable to be pushed away.

The soldier boots (#13) look like they're made for Quick Fix. That's 50 HP/s when you're under fire and up to 150/sec out of combat, and triple that during Uber. Plus, Quick Fix lets the Medic rocket jump with you. I'd have a blast pocketing a soldier with that secondary.

List of weapons (Skipping the first one that was an example) 1. Dr.Ziegler's Healing Stick (Would have the description quote "Heroes always die!.. Mercenaries live forever!" 2. Panic Pack (Heavily encourages pocketing and staying alive, and fire-rate buff would be extremely powerful for your allies as opposed to you, practically forcing soldier to take a supportive role, in stark contrast to how he's usually supposed to be played. NOBODY would ever use it, but it would be fun as fuck to use, regardless.) 3. Sticky Situation (This is literally just glue. Lore/logic-wise, this weapon is perfect.. Gunks up enemy's weapons so they can't use them for 2 seconds, gunks up your own if you miss. Strategically, it also suits the pyro, since the pyro is an ambush class, and briefly disabling a cluster of opponents before charging in would be the ultimate tool for ambush tactics.) 4. Lone Warrior (Might look like a sticky launcher with a bloated extra-large clip.. This would be a tryhard-only weapon, since it would encourage either players who go balls-deep with their grenade launcher, or players who spam stickies and camp near medikit spots) 5. Team Rocket (Would be brightly colored, and shoot rockets that look kinda like giant nerf-gun bullets. Again, tryhard-only weapon. You'd get soldiers who pair this with the shotgun or panic attack, randomly booping a teammate then popping off on an enemy with their shotty, never actually using the rocket launcher to try and get kills. Besides that, this'd be OP if used on a friendly heavy or scout.) 6. Lucksman (This is a 110% meme-weapon. I can already imagine 24/7 2fort servers where one team has six of these fuckers just charging the bridge getting random crits and headshots while spamming lenny faces and binds about random crits.) 7. Porta-Borscht (A big pot of soup on heavy's back. The stats would sync up with it lore-wise, since jumping or flying around would spill the borscht!) 8. Bleeding Heart (The banner would be a big bloodstained tie dye peace sign. Yet another item that seems to encourage soldier to take a more supportive role, and stick to his teammates and medic.) 9. Rasputin's Fury (This weapon is both a hard perfectionist-trainer like the bazaar bargain, but also just hellish and unpleasant to use. Still, if you can get past the decreased ammo and damage, and basically being nearly insta-killed for missing, then you could 'theoretically' deal some very impressive damage with this, when firing into clusters.. Absolutely terrible weapon, not even tryhards would touch it.. It'd be one of those meme weapons someone would stream with under the title "playing with Rasputin's Fury, video ends when I die") 10. Loud n' Ugly (The weapon would look like a handheld blunderbuss or an airhorn, the firing noise being as loud and obnoxious as the pan's. This'd fit the stats of increased damage on headshot and the debuffs on miss kinda. It'd be a perfectionist trainer, but the spread ruins that. It'd be a tryhard only weapon, but the debuffs ruin that.. So, this would likely just be another meme weapon.) 11. Fuck You (Meme weapon for massochists. This weapon's very existence would be an insult to anyone who witnessed it.) 12. Double-edged Candle (Giant candle-themed flamethrower. This would be a perfectionist-trainer, but for pyro.. I'd say it would be fairly viable, But it would really encourage tryharding and selfish behaviour.) (Got bored and stopped, who cares about this anyway..)

I was testing the "God" tier items and I got a spy's knife that can backstab with an ability of "On Hit: +22% more damage when attacking from behind the enemy" Like cmon thats the point of the knife insta kill.

Yo, hear me out Slug-Scattergun/Shotgun Single target damage at longer ranges than the normal shotgun/scattergun, but less overall damage. I think it'd like the Shortstop but better in some ways. Just a quick hot-take on this, put barely 5 minutes of effort into this so there's bound to be issues

The increased random crit chance on the new bow for sniper at 12:12 technically gives the bow random crits instead of increasing the chance of random crits I'm pretty sure

Increasing from 0 makes it a non-0 chance, meaning that that no matter how low you increase the percentage by, the bow will still have random crits.

This generator could definitely use some language fixes so that it's more similar to actual TF2. Also, I'd love to see a generator that gives weird meme stats like "increase air strafe speed" less often.

10:30 I genuinely want that. It seems interesting and balanced, and I love playing supportive so I'd love using it. Also, would splash damage count as hitting a teammate? If so it could be a game changer in certain situations, but the damage penalty makes it far from unbalanced.

Just for reference on the heavy backpack at 14:20 Heavy's HP would be increased to 345 at a max, while his movement speed would be increased to 275 hu / second, which is just under demoman who moves at 280. (Stock demo, not demoknight.) That would be pretty terrifying.

I appreciate the way this one widens the scope of tf2 weapon generators, like instead of just being like "a new pistol for scout" or "new melee for demo and soldier" like we've already seen before, it's like "Here's a side grade for the huntsman, why not." Or "Pyro only has one throwable? MORE." A backpack for heavy? That's new, but I'm not opposed to it. Overall, pretty good weapons, IMO. I like the new generator.

I liked the number 18 Spy Knife. Just from reading the stats the immediate flavor that came to mind was instead of a knife Spy is using Dracula’s Fang/Tooth. (Heal on hit because vampire, bleed enemies because vampire bite, slow enemies because vampirism) and missing makes you weaker because you weren’t fed.

I used this generate and got a secondary for scout that allows him to see the HP of enemies but lowered his running speed by 10%. Honestly a really interesting concept.

Actually, I think #17 might be useful on a huntsman sniper, due to the increased mobility. It would also make the downside have some impact by being more on the frontlines.

I got a new secondary for engi On hit teammates: 30% bonus attack speed for 4 seconds On hit: cause bleeding for 5 seconds Decrease air control 20% less fire speed when holding mouse 1

The two downsides it has can be completely negated by not sentry jumping (the only time you'll ever feel the impact of the first downside) and not holding mouse 1, making it almost a direct upgrade from the stock pistol. Interest concept though, I think it'd be a fun weapon.

Something to keep in mind here is that heal-on-hit _does_ also proc with DOTs, like afterburn and bleed, which makes those two God weapons with the heal + inflict bleed on hit a *lot* better.

ngl the heavy backpack from number 6 is actually a really nice concept. Like, it makes him slighlty more tanky, and makes him kinda faster on a specific condition that can be easily countered. it probably would need to be changed slightly to be more balanced, but it is definitely a really nice concept, specially for a randomly generated weapon

the mini explosion in your hands scattergun for scout makes me think of some kind of flintlock or blunderbuss for scout that explodes due to incorrect amounts of gunpowder loaded into it and the less bullet spread + bullets makes it like more like that

That soldier launcher at #16 is actually insane. If you use the gunboats you would only reduce blast damage by 25% but with the extra self damage you would rocket jump even further and faster.

#19 was actually at least in my mind looking like a nice roamer weapon as the faster healing from medics allows for you to take less of the medic's time healing you rather than a demo or heavy, and has a lot of rocket jumping related upsides, encouraging mobility through that method.

What I’m thinking with the “mini explosion in your hands” is that it’s like a mini caber explosion, but since you have 6 in a row, that’s essentially giving you 8 jumps.

That soldier banner would be AMAZING for defense. (#1) Pairing that with a sentry nest would give an entire defensive stance (lets say, a CTF hold) incredible holding power. While neutralizing the effect of the bleed, by staying nearby a dispenser. It encourages teamplay by incentivizing the soldier to stay with teammates. Since his banner is next to useless without it, and would actually become detrimental without teamwork.

I can imagine the scatter gun at 23:30 like a sharpnel shooter or like it shoots scrap and its kinda like a patchwerk weapon where it bleeds the enemies but everytime you shoot there is a missfire that also hurts you

I feel like #14 might pair really well with the Buffalo Steak Sandvich since the 15 HP on hit would offset the damage vulnerability, and the 20% slow on hit would pair with the BSS’s running speed buff, allowing you to more easily rush down enemies. The mini-crits would also mitigate the lack of crits on the weapon.

Ey Great Blue, I had an idea for my own weapon generator, and I think you should probably try implementing it in your own too: positive and negative stats are assigned score based on their usefulness which varies depending on what kind of stat it is, and the generator attempts to even out the positive and negative scores, within reason (i.e. lets one side win with a small margin).

the mini explosion thing means that hits will receive exploding properties like an explosion radius, knockback, vaccinator resistances, and candy cane damage vulnerability and that explosion will cause bleading damage

it isn't though, it says "cannot crit" not "no random crits" this means it wont be affected by things such as kritz medics etc, it is still much better than stock however

...oh god. that first medigun would synergize extremely well with the market gardener. think about it: rocket jumping only resets when you touch the ground. if you're flying, you'd never have to touch the ground, until the ubercharge runs out. you could just fly around critting fucking everyone. finally, the troldier playstyle is actually viable!

33:24 Jump height directly correlates to rocket jump distance. If you've played MvM you'd know how far you could go with a little jump height on soldier. You can actually simulate most of these stats on it by just having mantreads, buying a jump height upgrade, and a move speed upgrade, and that will be what it's like to have this item, except it also gives you 25 HP and more healing from medics. It's an insane weapon, and imo should have been in OP tier.

#12 could make sense with a few changes the gun would have 1 shot before reloading when you shoot it causes the explosion dealing a little damage and sending out shrapnel from the barrel that just exploded causing the bleed instead of normal bullets (faster fall off and higher spread) the reload would be scout attaching a new barrel. The design would be a flintlock esc pistol but the barrel has been welded shut and also half the barrel is attached with duct tape.

I kinda like the heavy melee on 14. Slower move speed hit to enemies would be incredibly useful to a heavy in a scenario where he is using his melee givin his natural slowness

On the attack speed banner Being able to see enemy hp is unbelievably powerful on soldier, knowing when to jump let’s say a med or sniper because you can see that they’re low , is game winning stuff, and it would be constantly in play, and air control is awesome on soldier….. And for the bleed, as a soldier, assuming it’s like 10 seconds or whatever, you shouldn’t be having to change your play style very much ; at least as a roamer, otherwise, medics and dispensers wouldn’t be far from you, if you’re playing right
