Frostmourne was actually the exactly the same as the one from the Lich King until the release of Whizbang, when they "buffed" it to the one we have right now.
@@FlareHearthstone Yeah it’s so bad, honestly here’s a good rework 5 mana, 8 attack, 4 durability Can only attack minions, when you attack and kill a minion summon a copy to your side. Now it mind controls at the cost of player health. But it’s a minion only weapon. It should be broken it’s FROSTMOURN!
7 mana 7/3 Frostmourne. Ignores divine shield, reborn and deathrattles. Deathrattle: Summon every minion killed by this weapon. Also deal up to 21 damage hopefully if there's no taunts by turn 9.
@@salamonsio118 Very unlikely to happen, you still burn the top card of your deck, still requires at least a 9 mana investment, and isn't even that good of a payoff.
@@alonkob2127 burning one card is not that bad as it seems, i do not know what type of decks you play but i play warrior and druid and i use freya and yes i could burn a guff but it is more likely to burn something that is not that vital
@@salamonsio118 Burning a card in your deck is straight up a disadvantage. You are paying 9 mana for a card that, before doing anything else, puts you in a disadvantage. And there is no mini in the game that is remotely worth paying 9 mana and Burning a card just for a chance to get. Compare this to the mistcaller - it's 3 mana less, doesn't actively harm you, and can benefit you more consistently. giving +1/+1 to your hand and deck for 6 mana is very, VERY far from good, but it's also infinitely better than paying 9 mana to burn a card in your deck and maybe have a very low unlikely chance of getting a mini card that would literally be less useful than buffing your whole hand and deck. Botface is straight up a downgrade on that.
the thing about Aviana is that i could see why the devs would make this: sometimes you make a card that looks like dogshit but somehow players figure a way to make it work. at least it's a somewhat cool effect, and the devs just thought that maybe someone somewhere would find a way to abuse this. like *Nozdormu* giving your opponent the 10 mana before you do. Rhonin on the other hand, what WERE they thinking. it's not cool, there's obviously no build-around, it's a fucking DEATHRATTLE, it's an 8 mana 7/7 do nothing... no one in the dev team could possibly have thought this would be viable right? it's not even like it's a strong deathrattle, or like mage can abuse this by copying deathrattles or use this effect really well, no, it's just "get 3 shitty spells"
@@peanuteater9640 I have heard how unfun it is. And even then just the manacheating to 0 on its own for any spell sounds awful and I apologise for my stupid suggestion
*Rant incoming* The sheer disrespect the dev team gave to Frostmourne drives me up a wall. The fact that the Legendary weapon of The Lich King is worse than basically *every other weapon* Death Knight has access to is insane to me. The "buff" is also a complete joke. Sure, getting it down to 6 mana is good, but putting it at 4 Attack basically means that the card can no longer effectively do the one thing its designed to: *Swing at big minions to steal them* Literally ALL they had to do was give it a "Your hero is *Immune* while attacking" and that would have made the card at least 15% better. They wouldn't have even needed to reduce the cost. As then you wouldn't have to worry about putting yourself in OTK range unless you're playing Triple Blood. Instead they killed what little playability the card had and left it at that.
Okay, but… hear me out: If you play sheriff Battlebrim to open the badlands jail, then imprison aviana, you can get her effect without it being destroyed by your opponent!
In the defense of Aviana: You can Alarm-o-Bot her and then you get the benefit before the opponent, which is obviously broken and I'm surprised this hasn't been nerfed.
Cera'thine was actually surprisingly competent as one of the meme 'transform your deck' cards. Nowhere near meta playable, but for the sorts of players who enjoy Renounce Darkness-style decks, she's among the best. Especially in the context of Year of the Gryphon which gave super-casual players very little (not to mention needing to work around the questline meta), she was a successful card design. Lilian isn't too hard to defend in context either. Back then value generation often meant weak spells (e.g. 1 damage Razorpetals) that you'd love to replace with something more substantial. She was also among the early, pre-Witchwood thief rogue cards which were still working out what to do with that archetype, so we can forgive her for not holding up to modern standards. As much as it pains me to say, the worst rogue legendary was definitely the pre-buff Anub'arak. I loved using it against TGT control warriors, but it was unplayable against everything else. And what was rogue ever meant to do with a super-slow 9-drop?
For the memes, I’ll need to make a deck with Hir’eek that combos with the new Warlock legendary so it copies the Deathrattle to summon an 8/8 with taunt to fill your board.
I just stumbled upon your channel through the complaints department one (which I also just found out about) and you crack me up, man. Keep up the good work! Oh, if the giveaway thing is still a thing, my favorite HS card ever would have to be Spectral Cutlass.
I love your unhinged rant on Hir'eek the Bat lmao I didn't unpack Hir'eek but I got the card who dupes itself when it's discarded. Wtf was Warlock in that expansion?
Clutchmother Zavas has to be my favorite "bad" card, had me running stuff like lakkari felhound and howlfiend trying to get it to like 30/30 just for it to die to random removal
13:50 I remember playing HS on and off a bunch of times, but the biggest breaking point which got me to just quit full stop and just watch people play instead was during KFT when everyone got a free DK for doing the mini adventure's intro and I got Thrall Deathseer. The last time I played a bunch at that point was a little in KnC and a bunch during Old Gods, so I had absolutely nothing for Evolve Shaman honestly if I got any other DK, even the Warrior one, I would've been happier since I generally like Warrior way more than Shaman so getting to use the new card type even if it was bad with a class I liked playing would be more fun than forcing myself to play a class I didn't like with a centerpiece card that I didn't have any of the support for.
For priest, I would have to say Temporus. Even in the BEST case, dropping him usually costs you the game, Giving your opponent 2 turns, at no cost to them, is unrecoverable
Duskfallen Aviana is my favorite, “Minion that has no use but is detrimental for whoever gets it.” Card. I wish she was better, for the symmetric effect, the stats are almost worth it, maybe an extra stat in either one, but the effects the main problem, I would personally change it to “On both players turn, the first minion and spell costs (0)”. So even if you can’t play another minion for free, so still get SOMETHING by playing her.
Hot take but I actually like the old burgle mechanic. Narrowing the pool to your opponent's class helps a lot with R.N.G, and gets you a better idea of limitations and synergies to watch out for. It does suck in the mirror, but I'm glad we have the occasional change-up in modern burgle effects to something similar (cards opponent played) with cards like Mixtape, Plagiarize, and Vanessa.
I can kinda see what they were going for with aviana, the idea being that you'd get more value from it due to your cards on average costing more. The fuck up was that they didn't guarantee that you'd benefit at all.
I felt that Hir'eek rant in the depths of my soul, because that was the "free legendary" I got from Rastakhan's Rumble :(. Also as a Priest main, I'm surprised seeing Volazj, it's definetly not a good card, but I can think of a few worse stinkers like Lady in White (worse Mistcaller unless you make your deck 100% based around it), and Temporus (Literally a 7 mana concede button, would argue it's worse than Duskfallen Aviana).
What if Hi'reek was: 1 mana 1/1 "*Battlecry:* Summon copies of this minion equals to its attack." So it has the "Sinergy" with handbuff but it's not an awful thing?
There is technically a way to make aviana work, if you play Aviana and you make her dormant with Maiev Shadowsong, you can benefit from her effect in 2 turns. Still bad considering the effort but, it's... something?
Garbage picks for mage. Both Rhonin and Malacrass were fun value based cards, very slow but not necessarily that much of a problem at the time they were released. That is to say, theu were a million times better than Anomalus and Flame Leviathan.
on my brother's account he got Hack the System and i tried to make it work its entire time in standart, with the weapons and cards that increased durability (one of em could also give lackeys so hey more value), dont remember how it went tho
I wonder if Frostmourne would be fine as a direct Truesilver Champion reference, i.e. a 4 mana 4/2. Ya know, paladin/death knights being two sides of the same coin and all that.
I actually put Rhonin in a Yogg deck when Old Gods released just for the 3 extra spells for Yogg. Also, with Mistcaller? Why play Mistcaller at 6 when you can play Lorthe’mar on 7 for waaaay more upside.
I think they just didnt want to majorly change frostmourne. A few years back, maindecking frostmourne wouldve been amazing - back when the game was more about value. I don't think they can just change numbers on frostmourne to make it viable. Kinda sad, because its friggin frostmourne. Its still a great discover atm if you run into value vs value matchups, but that so rare these days. Rissa is kinda interesting. She doesnt sound all that terrible... but again, its a value card. In rogue/DH to boot, those two do not care at all about value, they either wanna kill you or do obscene shit. Duskfallen Aviana is an anti-aggro card and it is amazing at that /s Slate seems like... fine, isnt he? I mean, yeah, Acidmaw(post buff) is just better. But Acidmaw is outright amazing. Being worse than amazing is not terrible? But honestly, Im surprised that there arent any absolute dogshit legendaries in hunter. Ronin and Malacrass are amazing compared to Duskfallen Aviana. I wonder what Bolar Fordragon would look like if he'd be released today.. he'd probably have like rush+divine shield or something.
Funny enough. I craft Bolvar, and find end let hack the system in my collection. Bolvar in odd pally with broom kill big taunt minions, I can draw I'm early with the spell that draws 2 minions from 1 attack and start to buff him with my dudes that died. And hack the system is fun to run, also Martianboo made a playable deck some months ago...Is too boring play only overpower decks and cards
Maluco, eu tenho a metade dessas cartas na minha coleção. Detalhe minha primeira lendária, foi o termaplug, o 9 manas 9/7 que invoca um gnomo leproso pra cada inimigo morto.
Yeah, Risa is definitely bad, but let's be honest, it's a good recursive value. If you equip dagger and start this cycle it's ok card. Still bad overall, but not even close to stuff like Hireek
