Hello, I've been working at a standing desk for the last year and a half. It's been a great shift in term of my consciousness of how I engage when I do computer work. I've noticed that we are more and more people here in Québec that are shifting to this type of setup. Could you release a video for people that are experimenting with standing desks? I'm sure that will be useful and inspirational to many thanks again for your work, it really supported me in the last few years since I've started to do more computer work while I was starting a new collective business project. It allowed me to have a healthy relationship to this temporary shift of daily routine. Thanks

Thanks Pierre, really glad you've found the videos useful. A standing desk one would be interesting. I'll put it on the list. Thanks for the idea!

I see that your back is not glued to the backrest during your working position. I have found that this kind of position is very tiring for me after a while and I tend to slouch gradually into the chair. Today I will try this exercise and see how it goes.

I also used to find that position really tiring but as my posture/coordination improved, I found that I could sit for longer and longer in this balanced way. Some chairs are really well designed with backrests that don't cause people to stiffen up or collapse but not many! Good luck with experimenting with this stuff, I hope you can find more comfort and balance!

3:18 How can one feel the knees releasing forward away from the pelvis (as shown along the arrow)? Is it just metaphorical or one should feel some stretch in the muscles?
@MovementandPosture

Don't try to 'feel' it but just be very clear that you want it to happen. This is an example of an AT 'Direction' which is a simple thought that we prioritise to consciously prevent a previously unconscious action from happening. So in other words, when most people lean forwards in their chair, they will unconsciously tense their leg muscles which will pull their knee into their hip and stiffen the legs. In this exercise, you maintain the decision to not stiffen the leg whilst making the movement and thereby prevent the habit from activating.

i think we might also put too much tension on our hips, could that contribute to soreness / tension in the back?
