I'll say what I said to my cousin, HOW?? It was day one? Unless they followed the perspective of someone in gov/military we wouldn't be privy. I'm guessing that's the direction 3 will go in
Why yall never satisfied this is one of the best horror movie we got this year why yall always complaining seriously this is an original movie can we just appreciate the atmosphere it captured like damn always complaining now we only got remakes
"This is an original movie" ... No it's not. It's literally a prequel. Also, I am plenty satisfied with plenty of movies, and I am satisfied with this one too. Can we have things that we wish the film did better?
@BrandoCritic ??? Of course we can , I just don't understand how they could unless they ditched the formula they love and switch to the gov/military perspective or people who were trying to fight them.
I wished the opening scene started out on the creature planet and how it got destroyed and chonks of that planet and along them spread throughout space. I wanted to see what type of atmosphere they originally oriented from.
The thing I found with part 1 and 2 was that it was mainly focused on the family and we as the audience was following them, seeing what this world was like. Since the family only knows so much about the outside world, we, the audience, only know as much as the family knows. So in part 2, when we catch a glimpse of day one and the introduction of the friend Emmitt, then that's as much of the world the family and the audience knows. Once we meet the island people and hear what happened to them on day one, now the next films can build on what we learned and we get to actually see what happened. With day one and the end of part 2 revealing things, that will open up the next films and the family/audience will get to see more of this world.
I’m seeing it tonight. It’s usually not a good sign when the embargo is just about the day of. It sounds like it’ll have good action but, don’t expect to care much for the characters.
@@RavensOsFan89 nobody said it did wtf... u just changed your entire narrative. You said stuff about embargo & bad sign for reviews - my point was in this case that was/is far from true. Also, the main highlight of every review positive or negative is " it focuses on the characters alot & has heart "
Yet to see it but I think the sign language problem you mentioned would’ve ruined the film. I imagine people were quick to realise the aliens hunted by sound, but learning sign language takes time - the family in the first film knew it due to their child. If the characters in the prequel knew it from the get go it would’ve felt a bit cheap.. Again, haven’t seen it but if like you say they adapt quickly to this, that’s what I’ll be disappointed now. Sign langue didn’t make the movie, what did was seeing humans adapting to a situation in dire circumstances.
I'm not saying that I wish people learned about it. I'm saying that in this movie, everyone is silent and unfortunately, there isn't much characterization because of it. Sign language I thought was the charm of the first two movies, and it's missing here. Based on the logic of the story here, I understand why it isn't here.
Hey Brandon, I saw The Bikeriders (2024) in theatres, Tom Hardy, Austin Butler and Jodie Comer delivered excellent performances. The film sometimes got a bit violent, and a trailer for MaXXXine (2024) starring Elizabeth Debicki and Mia Goth played before the film started and Elizabeth Debicki is still my favourite actress of all time.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I like it that much for a recommendation. Only because you’ve seen the other place then this one’s not gonna do much for you
@BrandoCritic The teens, tbh they frustrated me so bad I wasn't even scared, just constantly irritated . The lack of tension, too, maybe? I still think it was a decent movie, but of the 3 it's my least favorite. Thinking about it, I you and my cousin are right they should have given us more info about the aliens in this latest one. Still not sure how.
@BrandoCritic cat jumped on that counter and then went to cuddle him like. Then the construction site scene when the cat was looking down at him, like it was all a part of the cats plan to get him out of the way. Almost got the nurse killed. Cat was a menace
i liked the acting. it was good but ; the ending couldn't been better. lupita nyongo is a great actress but yes the thing the movie was missing the sign language parts.
I never said they should. I’m saying that was the charm of the first movies, and it’s missing here. The solution, GO IN A NEW DIRECTION. Don’t make the same movie again just with new characters
@BrandoCritic They chose to base this around a sick patient. Who wants pizza? Do I need to say more. They could just gave us more backstory on the aliens. How did they come to term with sound playing a major factor. Or they could have picked up with the previous characters.
