A very simple, but effective warm-up before getting after it, courtesy of Beth Lewis. I typically do this as the final or penultimate movement prep of 5-6 warm-up exercise before moving to major lifts.
It’s multiplanar, obviously, so it’s getting my ankles and feet ready for complex movement and getting my glutes, hamstrings, and to a lesser extent quads firing.
There are many ways to do this (4-way instead of 3-way); pause in the middle with knee to chest or different variations with standing hip rotations. I’ll post on those another time, but this is the simplest of the lot and yet still immensely valuable to me.
I’ll do 2 sets of 6 per side typically.

The flow and cadence felt fairly easy to follow along while giving me time to calibrate and focus my thoughts. It also happened to go with "So What" on Miles' Kind of Blue Album.

Thank you, Doctor, for an excellent warm-up routine. I generally jump rope 4 sets of 100 to warm up. Yesterday, I did this instead - 3 sets of 10 reps each leg. Whew! What a workout, and just the warm-up. 😅

A Lunge Matrix in three planes can be a great way to warm up. Pivot: Forward/Reverse Lateral/Curtsey Rotate Open/Rotate Close Add hand drivers to include the trunk! In a couple minutes your heart rate is elevated and you’ve moved your joints through most actions!

Saving this! Is the interlocking floor mats or tile? It’s a beautiful gym. My basement is all interlocking mats but that is much nicer color if so.

In all respekt Mr. Atilla, why aren't you doin full ranges of the joint? For instance the side steps. Why not goin the whole way down to the bottom? - In terms of joint-health... Yours sincerely Sebastian from Germany

So when u switched sides, ur hands were mimicing the motions at some parts, im guessing that was on purpose? If not thats super interesting if for no other reason, than for an easy way to remember the pattern, even when at a desk job (if youd wanted to use such to remember said sequence)

Peter I'm a big fan but let me teach you some body mechanics to enhance that. When you go to the side if you turn the leading foot in enough to put torsion on and at the same time you focus on puttting even pressure into the ground you will protect and strengthen the ankle muscles as well as the muscles supporting the knee. When you cross step if you can bring the back foot forward enough that the rear knee locks into the front you will engage glutes and stabilizing core muscles. Both are very cognitively challenging but that has the added benefit of pleasing Huberman

Doesn't exercise science now tell us not to stretch muscles before exercise session? Muscles which are 'cold' and being stretched easily pull and strain. We should rather brisk walk and get the heart pumping and warm up the body and muscles before adding strain on them.
