I’ve just realised that when I get in a rut, it’s because I haven’t reached for my journal for a few days... and that’s where I spend time each morning to plan out my tasks, mind-map, and focus my thoughts. Thanks for this reminder😊

1. Sit down and think for 10 minutes about the task - meditate, ask your body how it feels, where are the areas of resistance 2. Mind map about what actions you can take 3. Weekly review/plan

i have procrastinated writing my master thesis for so long, i can't believe 10 months have passed and i haven't written a single letter yet. i have been struggling with trauma and then corona happened and i fell into a bad depressive episode that i'm still trying to get out of. your videos are the only thing that's keeping me sane, i started weekly reviews, mind mapping and I incorporated a lot of the strategies you talk about and tbh i still haven't started writing my thesis but at least i'm taking care of myself better. Depression made it so hard for me to shower or even brush my teeth, but now i'm showering daily, working out 30 minutes a day, cooking healthy meals and eating 3 to 5 times a day, before i used to go days without eating. These sound very trivial and not a big deal but they are to me, i feel human again, and although the thought of starting my thesis scares me and makes me want to pass out, i know i can eventually do it. Thank you for changing my life

Holy cow, congratulations on doing the work to make all those changes and slowly moving toward starting your thesis! I also have a history of trauma, severe depression, and also chronic illness, so I KNOW how hard this is. Your accomplishments aren't trivial at all. Keep going! ❤

Proud of you. I can totally relate to what you go through. When I was doing my masters I had the same experience. I finished my thesis work six months later than the actual deadline. But now I am doing my PhD and feel a lot better. You are trying hard and you will get better eventually. May good things happen to you. Take good care of yourself.

I procrastinate when I'm feeling overwhelm. If I take baby steps/bite-sized pieces and listen to an interesting podcast, I feel so much better and find that I accomplish a lot more,

@@wickedartist1451 you fear that you might screw it and want to get it right from the first try (fear of failure),repeat to yourself that it's okay to make mistakes and you're more than your mistakes!💙 and avoid comparison, every one works differently behind the scenes. And if it's hard its also okay take your whooole time because life is a walk, enjoy your scenery. 💗

Great video! I also find it helpful to ask, 'What needs to be done before I can complete this?' Even something as simple as a phone call or booking an appointment can be put off because you don't have the number, for example. Sometimes we're just thinking too many steps ahead.

The topic of mental resistance is SO TRUE and important to discuss/tackle. I've struggled with this many years in achieving my own personal goals. Sometimes the excuse was life experiences or health issues, but most of the time it was laziness, procrastination and/or fear. But I'm been really buckling down on this and doing my own self-awareness sessions and now I'm slowly getting more productive :) Thanks Muchelle!

I have several of your most recent videos on my watch later list - I'm even procrastinating in RU-vid world! :O But in all seriousness, thank you for the video, I needed this reminder. I have a lot of personal goals and I come home from work and those goals suddenly don't matter anymore because I'm so tired. But my job ends in a couple days, then I get a two week break of just me time until my new semester starts... I'm realizing that I need to start taking action like you said. There are always things that come up. For me, it's work and it makes me tired and feel unproductive. And then it'll be school next... And then something else and something else and something else. Stuff to interrupt my goals. BUT. I can't let it interrupt my goals. I can use my time wisely and keep to my try-and-sometimes-fail-at motto: "Do a little bit of everything every day." Then slowly but surely, everything will get done. Anyway, rant complete. Thank you for sharing such an amazing channel with people such as me who crave and hope for a happy life and realizing that it's possible to get it.

I love your advice to take just ten minutes to think.. sometimes that's really all it takes -- personally the only way I have been able to defeat the procrastination monster within me is by creating strict schedules that I try my best to follow -- I make sure to take breaks and reward myself -- but I find the routine of working at the same time every day helps reduce the amount of resistance I have regarding a certain task

Mind mapping sounds so similar to what I already do. I love the idea of the layout more than a typical chronological list. I tend to get caught up in the thoughts of why is this at the bottom instead of actually focusing on the list. 😂 I appreciate your videos so much! They are definitely the trigger to start a day with so much more intent!

My problem is overwhelm. I get soooo deeply overwhelmed with everything I want to do as a creative person. I want to make videos, and I want to write a book and I want to make an etsy store and a podcast about books and paint and do art and omg I'm exhausted.

I‘m really not trying to mean, I used to love your videos and binge watch them but unfortunately this has changed. I thought maybe some constructive criticism would help you grow more on youtube because I can tell that you‘re putting a lot of effort and thought into your channel! But I feel like the topics you talk about are becoming repetitive and it‘s basically always the same which is why I rarely click in your videos anymore when they pop up. I still love your style and personality though, for example I do enjoy watching your vlog-ish videos :)

Yeah but be honest: do you actually follow her advice? Most of us need to hear this advice repeated over and over in different ways before it sinks in. How many times have you had an epiphany and then a week later you’re back to old habits? We’re lucky to have her repetitive reminders.
