[Honorable Mention] A Song of Spring | Ryan Leach April 2024 Composing Competition 

My submission for Ryan Leach's April 2024 Composing Competition.
When I first saw this image of Mont Saint-Michel, I immediately thought of the music of many of the great french composers: Ravel, Debussy, Fauré, and others. I was inspired to create a track that would reminiscence many of the harmonies, melodies, and sounds of french classical music (which I consider pretty fitting considering the location of Mont Saint-Michel). I wrote this piece not following a particular story or narrative but rather capturing the whole impression of the scene and the various different aspects part of it: the location, the beautiful colors of spring, the castle itself with its amazing Romanesque architecture, and all the emotions and imaginations that accompany the scene. I hope you enjoy listening and I wish all other fellow composers best of luck in the competition!
