I was 18 when I saw the Wall live at Earls Court in 1980. There's no way I'm ever gonna forget that. I was lucky enough to be alive and in England when it happened. There were only 6 performances and I saw 2 of them. Suggestion. Dark Side of the Moon, studio version, in two parts: one reaction video for Side 1, then one video for side 2. There's really no other way to do it justice. Others: Echoes (studio, then Live at Pompeii), all of Wish You Were Here, all of Animals. Have fun!

Saw Floyd for the first time in 67 when they were supporting Jimi Hendrix. 20 or 30 Floyd concerts later I saw them for 6 nights at Earls Court on this tour. This was the best gig Ive seen in the 40 odd years of attending rock/pop concerts. And this song was the highlight of it all.

I feel blessed to have witnessed this performance live. Not this particular evening in London, but a show in the same tour, a few months later in 1994, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I went along with a friend who had free tickets, as his father owned a Volkswagen dealership and they were the tour sponsor. It changed my musical life. Like everyone liking classic rock I already owned Dark Side Of the Moon and The Wall, because these are just must-have albums. But after seeing Pink Floyd live, and hearing this guitar solo scream across Feyenoord stadium..... I went out and bought most Pink Floyd albums. This performance brings me right back there in 1994. I have seen many rock concerts in that time including some big ones like Guns n Roses, Aerosmith and Bon Jovi..... in their prime....and I have seen quite a few bands since.... but nothing, not even with the fantastic light effects they can do these days..... comes close to that 1994 Pink Floyd concert.

Another suggestion for Pink Floyd; The album The Dark Side of the Moon in two parts, side A then side B. With the lyrics at your fingertips if necessary. Although I believe that Alanna will keep her eyes closed throughout this masterful album. I saw this (Pulse) concert twice, at the Montreal Olympic Stadium. My employer (Labatt Breweries of Canada) was the main sponsor for the three shows in Montreal, they were offering employees discounted tickets, in addition to a draw of a few dozen tickets. I bought mine for May 23 and I won those (a pair) for May 24. Some people have asked me, "Why are you going to see this show twice?" When they finally saw the DVD of this show a few years later, they understood why I was there twice.

I have seen Pink Floyd Live 4 times… I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap froged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.

Just an FYI Pink Floyd uploaded a new "Restored and Re-edited" version of this whole show in 1080p. The whole concert is worth reacting to, and doing it in order is recommended. It's all gold. They open the show with Shine On You Crazy Diamond, and ease you into a full-fledged, all-senses experience that ends with blowing the roof off with the song Run Like Hell.

Back in O.C. Calif when I was 30 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"... I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Raphael Ravenscroft” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen. I asked David…. How do you create those awesome solos?… he said….. I sit on a stool and listen to what Roger, Nick and Rick put down and play along. I listen to what I played and pick out what I like, then I put the pieces together into one piece then learn to play it as one. Our fans are fanatics for our shows to sound like the albums so I must play it correctly each time in a show. I have the concert Brochure and album on the wall with David’s picture centerfold. All of us fortunate enough to have seen this show live were in a TRANCE.... MESMERIZED the entire show... as you can imagine. We walked out saying.... What did we just witness? That was out of this world incredible. The Red Fender Stratocaster he used for this concert in the Guitar Collector World is ....PRICELESS

@@mikehenderson1509 I realize that its music! But I've seen Pink Floyd four times in three different decades live and if you close your eyes you might miss the full size airplane that crashes into the stage. Or the crystal ball the size of a two-story apartment suddenly showing up and so many other things! You can get the same thing out of the studio version and close your eyes I'm just saying you're going to miss things you would never expect to see at a Pink Floyd concert! @Rassskle
@Rassskle Год назад
This reaction is a month old now..... I hope you have experienced the whole concert by now, especially the CD or the video. If not, at least watch the live SORROW from the same concert. 2 must do Pink Floyd experiences are the original recording of Time and The Great Gig in the Sky...... listen as one song, or the whole first side in one go as it was intended. I specify the original vinyl or CD because all the remastered versions destroy the tone and alter the final brilliant vocal notes of the Great Gig..... some even remove those notes altogether. Those last 3 or 4 vocal notes are the essence of the song. Also Echoes live in Pompeii, both parts, 1 and 2. Not written to be performed in an empty ampitheatre, but the music and location fit like a tailored glove. Also the 1st performance in the Roman ampitheatre for 2,000 years....... I can hear the screams and pain of the long dead gladiators and Christians in the music....... You will also hear an iconic riff most people know well...... except this 1973 concert was many years before the version most of the Western Worlds Theatre lovers know.

I THINK I AM GOING TO LISTEN TO THE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WHO UNLIKE YOURSELF, CAN SEE THE BEAUTY OF HOW OTHERS CHOOSE TO ENJOY THEIR MUSIC. IM SORRY THAT MY TEAR FILLED EYES AT THE END OF THE SONG COULDNT CONVEY ENOUGH TO YOU THAT IT DID IMPACT US. INTERNET TROLLS ARE SO ONE DIMENSIONAL! Thank you, Cronic

I'd rather watch reactors who give the band the respect their due. Pink Floyd are the undisputed God's of Live performance. I've watch countless people react to this song. Everyone watched the whole performance and got the full impact. Pink. Floyd puts more production into performing one song. More than most bands put into an entire concert. If you prefer listening to music with your eyes closed, just react to the studio versions. It's pointless to react to a concert performance. Do what you want, since I won't be watching your reactions any more. I've got plenty of other reactors who react to the WHOLE performance. BTW, the all caps means nothing to me, that was as pointless as your reaction

Why the hell are you reacting to a video with your eyes closed ? Just react to albums, since you don't watch the videos you're reacting to.

Just sit there with your eyes closed. You have a chance to watch MASTERS at work and you close your eyes. Could not finish watching your reaction.
