Your taste in fabrics is so much like mine and I’m jealous of your beautiful purchases! You will look lovely in all of them! I’m in California and it’s getting warm here, so I’m making a denim sundress and very excited that you’ve created this challenge! 🌺

Oh that wonderful. I'm looking forward to seeing it. I hope you get a nice summer. Our was really rainy at first. We only got a few weeks of proper heat. Hopefully you get lots of opportunities to wear them. Thanks so much for watching ❤ ❤

We must have similar tastes - I also love (and bought) the white background/blue and purple flowers and the bright lipstick pink/pretty blue floral rayons from East Coast Textiles. They are really lovely. Haven't made them up yet.

I bought that 2nd fabric from east coast fabrics made a Whitcomb top and it's beautiful also made a gloria dress by Sewgirl which is a straight dress with ruffle on 3/4 sleeves and on the hem I call it my happy dress as the colours suit so well

Oh that's some good inspiration. Thanks you. I've had my eye on the Whitcomb top. It looks like a very wearable pretty top. Your dress sounds lovely. I'm looking forward to turning that fabric into something wearable. It's so pretty. Thank you so much for spending time with me ❤ 💕

They are beautiful patterns! I love your suggestion of the Mave skirt- and True Bias is having a sale through sunday 5/5. 😉😉 I just finished one a couple of days ago. It was a linen blend, and has a massive swish factor. PLUS there are directions for attaching a slip to the skirt with pattern pieces. This is helpful on long skirts so they don't get tangles in your legs as you're walking. Excited to see what all those lovely fabrics turn into!! Happy sewing!

Thank you so much. I have quite a few True Bias patterns. They would have to be one of my favourite patterns businesses. I didn't know the Mave had a slip option. They have thought of everything. Thanks so much for watching ❤ ❤

Great pattern choices. I can't wait to see them made up. Could you make the skirt pattern in a wool fabric since your entering winter? Loving the fabrics you purchased, so pretty. Oh and your top looks really great on you. 😊
@create_something_pretty
@create_something_pretty 3 месяца назад
Hi Cheryl. I probably could make the skirt from wool but it would be quite expensive and I probably wouldn't wear a skirt in winter. It just doesn't work with my lifestyle. I'll keep that pattern for when the weather warms up. Thanks so much for watching ❤ ❤

I’ve just binge watched your last 4 vlogs. I hope you persevere with the jeans making! I made my first pair this year and they are in the wash or on my body constantly. I made the wide leg Isle jeans and they are just so comfortable. The style is easier than traditional jeans too. I’m making another pair with emerald green mid weight viscose linen 🤷‍♀️😮 Love your lush green plants & garden 🫶🏻😍

Thank you Julie. I'm still going with them. Hopefully I'll have them done by the end of May. It really has been a crazy month. I do wonder if I should have made a different style. I think your isles jeans look awesome. I look forward to seeing your next video ❤❤

I feel you on the difficulty of doing MeMadeMay 😄 I'm in Finland, and we're going into summer, but it's been really quite chilly over the last few days, making it necessary to layer some of my summer makes because I don't have enough cool weather makes to wear 😂
@create_something_pretty
@create_something_pretty 3 месяца назад
It definitely is harder to do MMMay in the cool weather. I don't like to post it to my Instagram grid because I think I look a bit boring, only wearing t shirt and the occasional jacket. Hopefully your weather warms up. We are definitely in Autumn now. My trees are all the the colours. I'll try to remember to add footage in my next video 😊 ❤❤

Lovely fabrics and some great plans. I’ve made the Style Arc Anita blouse and found it very oversized tbh and the instructions are a bit sketchy. I’ve made the Pattern Emporium Balloon sleeve top and I absolutely love it! I’ve just finished my 4th one. It fits well and looks lovely on and the balloon sleeve isn’t annoying and doesn’t catch on everything. Looking forward to seeing what you make in those beautiful floaty fabrics. Have fun!

Oh it's so nice to hear how these patterns have worked for you. Very nice to know before I desided to sew them. I've heard nothing but good things about the balloon sleeve top. I'll definitely have to work it into my list. Thanks for spending time with me today ❤❤

The Zalia turned out lovely ,I did it in a blue linen but the v neck was far too low on me and I didn’t lift it to well ,so I had to put a piece across and it’s (O K ?) and warable but the sleeves are beautiful I did the elbow length next time I’ll make the round neck 🤞 I’ll have to practice lifting the V .love all the fabrics

Your garden is just gorgeous and so many fabulous bargains. Those fabrics are really beautiful. You're doing really well with your jeans toile and I agree, a wider leg style might be more comfortable. I'm planning to get my dawn jeans made along with an air of Jude jeans and a pair of Carlisle teen jeans for my tween. I'll assembly line style sew them so that that can be done altogether. This week I'm planning to sew alot - I have heaps of things I want to make and like you I don't have a lot for MeMadeMay but my self pledge is to actually knuckle down and make ore this May. I was going to do a denim blazer for the SEW AUTUMN DENIM challenge but I have decided to do something different. The blazer might not be done in time. Nevertheless though, I am planning to definitely get involved. I love sewing with denim.

This is great. I just looking through Instagram for the other styles of Ash Jeans. I am liking the wide and flare styles. Hopefully I can get some progress this weekend. You sound like you are going to be busy. It will be so rewarding to get all those things made. I really hope May is a productive months for us both. I have a fear of missing out again this year on making some beautiful winter jackets. I'll have to prioritise them over the next few months. I hope your weekend is productive. So lovely to hear from you again ❤ 😊

I also have your second and third fabrics from East Coast Fabric 😆 Actually three more pieces of rayon arrived from them in the mail today. I'm like a kid in the candy store with their rayon. We have another thing in common...gardening. I have to visit Bunnings soon to get more mesh for my flyscreens and I just know some 🪴 🌿 🌼 🌸 will jump in my cart when I'm not looking! Happy sewing and gardening! 😊

Love your fabric Katrina, the rayons are beautiful. Keep going with your jeans, you don’t have to do any fancy stitching on your pockets if you don’t want to. Is the pocket pattern piece smaller for a smaller size? Don’t give up, your fly looks really good, Deb
@create_something_pretty
@create_something_pretty 3 месяца назад
Hi Deb. I love your encouragement. I really do look up to you for advice. The pocket is different for different sizes. I was thinking maybe the placement is also different for each size. I will look at that first. I do wonder if they will sit differently once the waistband is done. I am getting whisker lines at the crotch. Do I lower the crotch or is it something else? So much to learn. Thank you so much for watching. Have a great weekend ❤ ❤

@@create_something_pretty hi Katrina, when you say whisker lines they maybe too long in the crotch, put the waistband on your test set and see, if you can pinch a line it maybe too long in the crotch, maybe just at the front. You can always send me a photo when you have the waistband on, I should be able to see what adjustment you need, have you put them against your rtw jeans, you can do this, Deb
