Fascinating video. I fished Abbotsbury on Saturday like you but in the opposite direction from the car park. My colleague and I fished for 15 hours at various ranges and had 2 bites - no fish landed. The one big difference I believe is that you had lug for bait, we had rag, squid and mackerel. The rag were probably farmed and I have little faith in it. I will have to source some lug and make the effort to walk a good distance like yourselves. Do you consider the water to be a little deeper where you fish ? Regards, Kevin
@ianclarkfishing
@ianclarkfishing Год назад
Hi Kevin lovely to hear from you! I fish rag with confidence if it’s quality except when cod are the target species. All my smoothound and most of my bream have been on rag usually tipped with squid in size 2 hooks. For cod definitely blow lug or fresh/ frozen blacks strong size 2 or 1 hooks tipped with squid. With regards the walk it’s definitely worth it the fishing 30 minutes walk east from the teeth is so much better and yes deeper water/ stronger tide pull. Hopefully that helps cheers ian
