The only resone I don't have Discovery+ has to do with the fact i had to add Disney + to my Hulu package just to get back the National Geographic shows. The $6 was ok with with me just fur them. Showing some my old fav cartoons like The Gummi Bears to my cubs are ieaing on the cake. I may get Discovery+ if it's priced right and like Disney + adds the back canlogal you know Beyond 2000, The Next Step, Wings, Conetions, Movie Magic, and more.

​@@lancepelissier5510 Verizon Wireless is offering it free for a year if you use one of their Unlimited plans. That's how I got Disney +. I had no desire to get Discovery Plus, until now.

RU-vid Plus is arguably the first of those kinds and also easily amongst the best, since it literally replaces your cable for cheaper and includes most shows from Prime Video and Hulu Plus

Heh. I bounce around my streaming services because there's only one of me and I only watch so many hours of TV in a month. If I want to watch something that's exclusively on another service, then I cut what I'm currently on, and switch for a month or two, watching whatever they have to offer before I switch again. Saves me money in the long run, and their offerings are generally fairly static anyway, so it doesn't make much sense for me to keep a streaming service if I've seen all I wanted to see on there. I'll wait until they have something new to come back to. And I have never paid a cable bill. Cable's full of commercials and they make it such a hassle to cancel and try to upsell you on stuff. Much easier to go online and cancel a subscription than to try and explain to the person who's been told to keep you at all costs that you need to cut the cord.

Amen...so dang tired of these cooking competition channels. To actually LEARN how to cook, RU-vid is the way to go it seems. That's how I'm learning to sous vide.

tip pick the 1-2 you use the most and always stay subbed to them and then rotate through the other ones when there is a show (or shows) you want to watch. That way you are only paying for 2-3 of them at a time. Nobody said you had to be subbed to all of them at once all the time.

Who pays for cable any more? Get rid of a dead service.

Only "mildly" annoyed? I'm full-on perturbed myself, but I'm sure eventually Food Network will get the "hand-me-downs" later.

Read an article that piracy was on the decline with streaming services, but now that they are all differentiating and you need so many services to cover everything, its on the rise again.

Majorly disappointed...I guess I won't be getting this after all! 😭

@@JasonICECarson Yeah I’m sure. Some of these streaming services have to fail at some point in time. Maybe I’ll give it a couple months and use a free trial to watch them all in one go and then cancel.

@@topogigio7031 yeah. Most streaming services require a US credit card if they are in the US. It’s stupid. You can’t even sign up for the free trial without a credit card either.

We subscribed to RU-vid TV ‘cause hubby wants TMC, and I cancelled Discovery + because of the overlap. Turns out that YTTV still shows the commercials, but Discovery+ cuts them out! I’ll pay the $7/month extra to skip a 6-8 batch of commercials, with 4-5 breaks per show!

I love it when a plan works.
