Your plants are beautiful! I know ya'll spend alot of time doing what needs to be done with them and it shows!! 👍🏻 ❤ 😊 💪🏼🙏🏻 You're exactly right ~ "Don't Give Up"! Keep a positive attitude!! FAITH
I just watched this one again. I needed that. I've had a few vineyard disappointments this year but took in my first few baskets of grapes. Thank you for inspiring me to do this and making it fun along the way. Keep it up
Hey shane ,I hope ya'll are doing all right. I think of you both often🤗. It's nice to see the Muscadine plants are taking off🎉 You can do it little guy😍! JO JO IN VT 💞
Timely video for me Shane. Thanks! Some of my first year plants are already starting to run down the wire, while some are a little over halfway to the top. I accidentally snapped one when installing irrigation and thought it was gone, but it's coming back! 🙂
Great to see you. Bugs got to the tips of my first year plants, (Ruby Crisp and Ison) so this was a very timely video for me in Greenwell Springs, LA. Love and prayers!
Appreciate the timely encouragement to not give up on the muscadine vines. I'm trying to grow them a little farther north than recommended. Lost half of my plants over the winter but 2 are coming back from the roots (Hall and Carlos). I may never get them to grow and live at the top of the wire, but perhaps some might make a cluster or two on the way up? Again thanks for the encouragement as it definitely applies to me!!!
Amen, some are so much more vigorous than others, even within the same variety. I hope your Ruby Crisp do better than ours, had 2 of 3 die back winter 22/23, resprouted to recover, other 1 of 3 died back winter 23/24 - hoping it recovers. Appreciate the encouragement and updates!
I needed this! It seems like every time I clean my trunks off that it stunts the growth. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. But they are driving me crazy lol!!! Great video!
Thanks for another great video! Definitely needed the encouragement. My first year plans have been struggling between deer and other pests, I have to learn to be patient.
Thank you for this. I am so frustrated. I started my vineyard last year. I planted 6 vines and only 3 showed any growth, and only one made it to the wire. In the Spring, the 3 that grew did not survive the winter. I ordered 6 more vines in the Fall and got them in the ground. Bonus I received 2 extra vines in my order. I hope these 8 survive. I'm doing better with the initial planting, staying on top of fertilizing and watering.
Thanks for posting this video. I was so discouraged with mine, but I'm not going to give up on them. All 4 of mine look like the last one you showed on this video. They had done so well last year and then something happened over winter. I'm going to do what you are doing on that last vine you showed!
Missed seeing the farm brother! How's the living arrangements coming along? I'd like to see a video about some of the things you wished you would have known when you first started your vineyard! Try and stay cool from us in Alabama!
Thank you for the "pinch" tip! I don't know how to make the vines split. What do you do with vines that have grown too far in one direction when you want them to split in diff. directions the wire?New grower...Thank S. 😀🌱🐢
Not really sure what you're asking without seeing the plant. But you can train them with zip ties or bread ties. Just not to tight and be sure to take them off during the winter prunning
I watched this again because mine are first year plants. Shane does it hurt to feed all the way up to October? The two Lanes I have are really slow, but I think they may grow all the way to October. Just trying to push them as much as I can to catch up to the Halls. thanks again for all the videos.
I wouldn't fertilize any more until next year. Just keep some water on them. Some Just grow slower than others especially 1st year plants. They will take off next year
Hey Shane, have you had any issues with ambrosia beetles in your area. I am in northeast Alabama and have lost pawpaw trees, figs and muscadines to them over the last two years. Fortunately with the figs and muscadines I was able to cut them back to the ground and let them start over, but it does set me back at least a year.
