@kkb9090 5 лет назад
Come on Gangs of Wasseypur is overrated as fk. There are 10s of better movies produced in India every year. Just because that movie had unlimited cursing, blood and gore doesn't make that a masterpiece
@kkb9090
@kkb9090 5 лет назад
Infact there were movies like Pan Singh Tomar (won the National Award for Best Feature Film), Filmistaan, Baandhon (Assamese film), 101 Chodyangal etc released that year. Regional filmmakers make awesome movies every year. Just that we don't get to know much about those movies because of lack of promotion

So enlightening! Kashyap can have his own RU-vid series where he talks about films and books. Quentin Tarantino did something similar in the 90s. Tarantino did DVD commentary for certain foreign films that were released in the US at that point of time. (Example : Chungking Express)

I've watched 1000-2000 movies and this guy has watched like 10x more movies than me. Having said that, I'm 17 and I dream one day of surpassing him in no of movies watched. I too want to be a filmmaker. Here are my fav movies 1) Close-Up 2) À Bout de Souffle 3) Stalker 4) The Godfather 5) 8 1/2 6) Les Quatre Cents Coups 7) Rashomon 8) Dekalog 9) Yi Yi 10) The Seventh Seal. As of now, I haven't watched all of Kiarostami's works but he's definitely my type of filmmaker... He makes the movies that I'd like to make.

@Light York Most of these movies are getting lost so this means that it wouldn't be that expensive for such huge companies. They can easily afford this easily because if the movie is disappearing, the producers won't see any loss in selling the rights cheap. But they won't buy because they will not get much in return. It won't even affect them if they keep just a few of these legendary films. They can do it just in the name of cinema or vintage pieces of art and if they try maybe even gain profit. I cannot be more elaborate than this.

I think Anurag Kashyap is a very honest guy just like his dad, Let's see: 1> Anurag Kashyap was a student of "Scindia International school" 2> Admission fees alone for "Scindia International school" is 14 Lacs 3> First year fees 17 Lacs 4> Next year fees again 17 lacs 5> His brother also attended the same school, 50lacs x 2 i.e 1crore total 6> His dad retired as a chief engineer, whose initial salary was 12,000 and later it was 37,000 when they took admission to this school 7> Do the maths yourself and imagine how much bribes his dad took to shell out 1 crore just on their school BottomLine: Honest Guy, Honest background, Honest political views
