This was a one-take video with no edits but I feel it turned out well enough to publish. Please let me know what you think.
I'm not affiliated with any of these companies but I highly recommend their products! The following products are used and mentioned in this video. Audacity is free, Voice Attack is around $8 and the HCS Voice Packs are just under 6 British Pounds (that's about $9 US). So you can purchase ASTRA, Voice Attack and Audacity for a total of only $17! That's less than most DLC and I assure you they add great value to not only Elite Dangerous but other games as well.

The new version of the voice attack has a much easier way. when you create the new profile, you click on the checkmark next to the new profile name. A popup screen appears, near the bottom it asks if you want to include commands from another profile, i put 2.0 Astra in there. then the next line say's "Enable profile switching for the following windows :" . there you make a list of all the profiles that you have imported (at least i imported them first). like this.... Alpha Numeric;elite voice;GalaXapediA;HCS Constellations Pack;HCS Quantum Theory;Ship Descriptions;Stephen Hawking Quotes all of these profiles work together now as one. yo might want to make a new movie :) but this older way should still work.

oop's forgot, i added nothing as commands to the new profile...its a blank. its all done by that list of profile names separated by ;'s

Re: Shroedinger's Cat If you look at how the commands are typed - 1) They are typed phonetically to force the SRP to interpret correctly 2) They are also typed in by the creators who are (if my understanding is correct) not north american and thus typing it in such a way to account for their accent. If you just type in the command as a normal american would say it, it will pick up the command just fine. I just tested it with "What is Schroedinger's Cat?"

+astralnomad Thanks for watching! Excellent observation. I never thought to try to modify the way they are entered. I'm in the process of creating a new "Adventures with ASTRA" so this is a good chance to see if I can clean up a few of the entries. Also, no more absolute paths in my .VAP file. I plan on another VA tutorial as well. I've learned a few extra tricks.

Suggestion on your video..I'm not a pro by far...actually watching and learning from your videos, however I believe you forgot a check box in the 26 minute mark. If you double click the sound to be played, there is a check box to wait for sound to complete before moving to the next command..IE pause. I think they all started one overlapping the other, the pause starting directly after the sound clip starts.

+William Richardson Your welcome! Glad you found it helpful. I'd have at least 2 or 3 more videos but I've had a series of issues after migrating to Windows 10 that nixed my video creation for awhile. I've since fixed the issue so I'm working on a new video. I honestly can't recall where the Star Trek sounds came from because I've had them for so long. A quick Google search should yield lots of sites for them though.

+Rigmor Working on it. Having issues recording with Windows 10. Thought I had a work around but the sound was all messed up. Hopefully i'll have it worked out soon and can record normally again. Thanks for watching!

looking good u video, buying my self A.S.T.R.A voice pack in elite dangerous, so can that voice attack take automated my ship command if i ask her?

Good video thanks. Just curious. I have some text to speech software with different female voices. Can i create my own MP3's using my software and just use Voice attack to repeat them like you do here? I'm assuming the path to the HCS MP3's can just be changed right?

Thanks! You are right on all points. You can use WAV or MP3s of your own making with Voice Attack just like these. Also the path can be changed to be anywhere you choose.

Hey max can you help me get Voice Attack to send the Voice Commands to Elite Dangerous I have it being sent to Active Window but its not working, though it recognizes the command.

Wild When using key presses select the "Game" selection. This is because games use DirectX so you need to ensure the key presses can be recognized by the game. It's the bottom right of the screen when you set a keypress. I'll try to post a pic of it tomorrow.

Are you using the voice recognition software that comes with Windows?

+Hartlezoro Yes, it's the Windows 7/8/10 built-in voice recognition software. Voice Attack uses this as it's base and adds functionality to tailor button presses, key presses, etc based on what you say. Amazing stuff.
