Credit where credit's due that Abaddon never gave up and held the Black Legion together for 10,000 years compared to the Daemon Primarchs who chose to laze around at their personal Chaos worlds and do nothing.

Abaddon is both fucking up the imperium directly and helping it indirectly by somehow trigging a primarch return

Abaddon died fighting Sigismund. He was replaced by Omegon. Same thing happened when Sigismund defeated Paul McCartney.

Shame that Bruva Alfabusa's TTS show ended prematurely because Takahata101 would have a blast in voicing Abaddon when he and the Black Legion were about to go for a walk. A very enthusiastic walk.

SPOILERS FOR HH/BLACK LEGION BOOKS: I think whether or not Abaddon is a good character depends on who’s writing his lore/novels at the time. Any time he’s onscreen in an ADB book, he’s awesome. Everyone else tries to paint him as this mustache-twirling “classic” bad guy. ADB portrays him (as shown in the Black Legion books) as someone who knows only war and the bonds of brotherhood that are forged in battle, still trying to find a reason to live after losing everything. A lot of that could just be because we’re seeing him through Kayon’s eyes, though. In truth, I don’t think Abaddon wants to win the Long War. He would rather die fighting the Imperium than destroy it. He wants to die for something. He wants to go back to Terra to die there, like he should have with the rest of the Justaerin. Surrounded by the corpses of his battle-brothers among a sea of fallen enemies. I think in Abaddon’s (and the other Astartes of the Ezekarion) eyes, all of the Traitor Legions should’ve died fighting on Terra, instead of running away. Kayon, Lheor, Abaddon and Telemachon all have one thing in common: They survived and fled when everyone else around them died with honor. Telemachon was part of Eidolon’s honor guard who got pissed on by Dorn and Sigismund. Kayon stumbled into an ambush and lost his entire company. Lheor’s plasma cannon exploded in his hands, and he was left in disgrace instead of fighting with his brothers. Abaddon got outplayed in the Saturine Gambit, but had never felt so alive as when he thought he was going out with a bang.

Abaddon: “Welcome, Lorgar! We have finally secured the MacGuffin!” Lorgar: “Indeed!” Corax: “Huzzah!” Abaddon: “…DAMN IT! Why did father have to have so many loyalist brothers?!”

I love that Lorgar idea. With all these Demi-God level beings coming into the setting it hard to look at Abaddon as big as a threat.

Meme's aside, Abaddon is an absolute beast in melee. In his first appearance he could one-shot Land Raiders and was in general one of the most scariest things on the battlefield.

Abandon is the perfect heel. He’s always just good enough to be a seriously threat but not good enough to have an outright victory. He is there to be dangerous but ultimately lose but also always come back.

He was kinda funny in the first few pre heresy books. I liked them chillin with the boys

I like Abaddon since the heresy books and especially siege of terra, I honestly think he was the least changed before and after the fall of his legion and love how he was getting sick of everything degrading around him, especially Horus.

MajorKill just want to take a moment to thank you for making approachable, fun, digestible lore for 40k. Its gotten me really into the lore and books of 40k and I am definitely getting that case for my DnD minis. Keep being a top tier lad.

Abaddon’s superpower is his unbreakable will. But he does it in a way that doesn’t ignore opportunity and advantage like *Dorn*.

Abaddon went from small-scale hit-and-run raids to massive invasions into the Imperium domains, striking from his safe-havens into the loop-holes of the Imperium outer-defense, despite inferior forces, increasing the bleeding on all fronts of a totally overextended Imperium in an eternal war of attrition. Abaddon did an incredible feat increasingly bringing together, even temporarily, rival forces for a common goal, reviving the idea of fighting the Imperium for glory and loot, surviving the meatgrinder that is the Eye of Terror geopolitics and finding a way decisively weaken an opponent in the Imperium that is far stronger than him.

There was a scene in one of the books where Malcador talket about the time he told the Big E to make primarchs into girls instead of boys thinking they would get along better. So there's a good idea for a video what if the Primarchs were girls instead of boys.

I really want Corvus to come back. He's overdue. Plus, he's a bird-demon demigod now, which is a super cool power the imperium would have to adjust to. As for Failbaddon the harmless, he's just a tool. After all, chaos cares not from whence the blood flows, only that it does. And he seems all too eager to throw all his brothers to the slaughter just to sate his own ego and jealousy.

I'm reading false gods after hours rising and it really throws me off seeing A loyalist abandon after watching 40k lore on RU-vid e for years.

Aaron Dembski Bowden confirmed that the cloned Horus was perfect, not flawed like most keep thinking. Abaddon also didnt claim the Talon after killing the clone of Horus, he took the Talon when The Emperor killed Horus on the Vengeful Spirit. Aaron Dembski Bowden has made Abaddon such a better character than he was shown as before. Talon of Horus and Black Legion cemented the Black Legion as my favorite 100%. Can't wait until the third book is done so we finally get the story of him getting Drach'nyen. Abaddon has the blessing of all the Gods, Lorgar wouldn't stand a chance, all the Daemon Primarchs bent the knee to em. Abaddon's been my favorite character since i got into Warhammer 40k. He's the Warmaster of the Black Legion. He never bows down to Chaos like his weakling father, they beg for his favor and patronage but he just won't give in. If the moment ever comes when Abaddon has to release the Daemon inside Drach'nyen, literally everyone is screwed.... It would bring forth the end times for Warhammer 40k. Lol

BBEG of 40K replacements for abaddon… Erebus, pursuing ascension to Dark King after juking Abaddon, Huron, Vashtor, the Daemon Primarchs, and lording it over them as the greatest blight on the galaxy (staying on brand becoming a scorpion-like Daemon Prince along the way). Would that not be on brand that the biggest prick in warhammer lie cheated stole and exploited his way to the very top as everyone curses to themselves how they should’ve given him the many slow deaths he deserved. Then we get to the big question: who if anyone finally gets to put Erebus down?

The talon of Horus and black legion novels really sell the despoiler in their goals I think the books make it clear a lot of the brutality and aesthetics are for intimidation and theatrical while he himself is pretty chill among his cabal

The main problem with chaos in a lot of cases is their predictability mainly of a story tackles the 4 gods as you already know their main goals nurgle plague slaanesh nsfw khorn blood and battle and tzeench you have no idea which is the main goal of tzeench

Id recommend the use of magnets on the case you guys made for maximum security

Don’t forget, Valdor was already exhausted and wounded when he and Abbadon fought. Plus Erebus aided Abbadon in that fight. That and the clone Horus let itself get killed by Abbadon

Maybe they can write him as a buddy or self-serving ally of Vashtor. The interplay of scheming, both having different goals, but having common threats including the Chaos Gods, could actually make him interesting.

Abaddon pre-heresy is interesting alot of the time. When Abnett doesnt write him and the terminator armored Justaerians to look like jobbers and Abaddon cry how he wanted to go back to the about to die fight. Post heresy: There is so much potential there but HOW he is written is spotty. While his many Black Crusades should be considered impressive, it still comes across as Ten Thousand years of a saturday morning cartoon villain, shaking his fist and going "next time, Imperium, next time!" If we could see the control exerted to keep the ruined bands together and maneuvers against the Ruinous Powers and Primarchs to keep his autonomy, that might make it more impactful. Finally, he does get overshadowed by Primarchs.

I want to see Hurron beat Abaddon and spare him only to make him his second and for Hurron to become warmaster afterall the red corsairs are awesome and the black legion is a depressing paint scheme

Abaddon is the closest traitor marine to being Horus 2.0. Dropping a Blackstone Brick on Cadia is literally a thing he did. Kill Sigismund and capture the Drac sword? Yep. All the crap about "failed crusades" is just ignoring the gains made by Chaos thanks to Abby.

Day 30: What if Omegon returned to the setting. What would happen?, how would Guilliman and The Lion react?. Would be a pretty cool video idea.

Even mfking Horus, one of the most (if not the most) loved, charismatic, military genius among the Primarchs, couldn't get the lunatics in the traitors legions to get their shit together. Yet Abaddon managed to somewhat coordinate them for major operations, credit where it's due.

I think the more you read the novels and learn about Abaddon you see he’s a pretty interesting character. However if you just see the memes or watch the fall of Cadia promo material GW released he comes off as a cartoony one side man child villain. While he’s not my favorite character he’s not the worse either.

It is a misconception that Abby was Captain of the Justarian during the HH. He was 1st Cappy and the Justarian were part of the first. Falkus Cyba was Captain of the Justarian

I give him respect because he wants to do this himself and not have help from the gods, he wants to destroy the imperium as a man, a superhuman man, but "mortal" man with no divine assistance. It's respectable in my opinion.

Never saw abbadon as a bad guy...just a really well written character

The greatest lie chaos ever told is the power if for free. Abandon may be a brutish thug but that’s the fun part. He thinks he’s free but he has four masters pulling the strings. It’s fitting how the leader of the chaos space marines all broke away against tyranny of the emperor only to be slaves to chaos and Abbadon is the perfect leader of that faction.

We have come a long way since "Failbaddon the Armless." I always liked Abbadon though, he is persistent!

From what I understand of the lore….hes actually succeeded in the majority of his black crusades despite the imperium claiming victory. Yes he might have been beaten back each time….but it was generally AFTER he did what he was trying to do. Not to mention all the castoffs and dropouts from all the crusades that were still kicking around after each one. So in general…he is a success 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve come to appreciate Abaddon more. I only wish his rise post-Heresy was a little more developed and tumultuous. It could’ve been a great character moment for him, disgraced and surrounded by former allies who now hated him and his Legion, forcing him to accept his shortcomings and use cunning to climb back to the top. Having him overcome self-doubt, dishonor, and the limitations of his warrior-centric mindset could’ve made him a more compelling antagonist.

Imperials would have you believe Abbadon is some kind of monster. The truth is that he's just a plucky guy standing up against the rotten corpse of the Imperium.

You know, I make my carry case with soft foam insides, so the minis fit in snugly and don't shake when the case moves. Plus it doubles as shock absorbent. That case's slots look... a bit hard.
