Thank you for joining me and aidan on another urban exploration in Cleveland, Ohio. This winter day we take a tour inside of an abandoned apartment complex with a bank inside. At one time this building provided housing, and community services for this Cleveland neighborhood. We believe this building was abandoned sometime in 2013. Aidan informed me the complex will be refurbished soon.....I guess urban development.

That was a really cool explore. I didn’t realize from the outside how old the inside was. Lots of character in the doors, windows of course the fireplaces. The trim work and columns. There were some built in cabinets. Was the building from the 20s or 30s? I think y’all were right about the church: prob had after school care, day care, clothes for job hunting. The old bank vault looked pretty old. Thanks and stay safe.

Agree. Often times abandoned buildings look completely different on the inside from whar you expect.

Before the late 1940s, at any rate; drywall started being used then instead of the lath and plaster construction I saw behind where some of the plaster had fallen from the wall.

This building was build in 1900 my great Uncle's grandfather paid for it to be build & my great Uncle owned it, thats why its called, The Abel building after them.

All these places in East Cleveland looks like the slum lords are leaving and no one else in the family wants the burden of a large buliding in the NEIGHBORHOOD.

What they do is they let it sit empty and fall apart, then eventually the city will buy it and knock it down or a new developer wants that land and they buy it. It's profit either way.

They actually look like attractive apartments at one time even if it was housing. All the time I've been watching any of the videos like this one on any channel I'm always shocked that people just walk out of places and leave everything behind. I find it so strange.

Glad to see you back again, UD. I agree with you guys: those corner rooms with turret towers get my attention immediately, cos I always wanted to live in a place with a corner tower, like a castle or chateau. (It'd be my choice of _the_ place to put a Christmas tree.) BTW, I get the feeling that this huge facility, like that church you explored, was a place for community religious gatherings and might've had Salvation Army/St. Vincent DePaul type goods for sale to low income people. That's always a good idea; bought lots of clothing, books, jigsaw puzzles, and stuff like that, myself. Stay safe, everybody.

Could someone please contact me about this video. My moms family was the original owners of that building and her family gre up in those apartments when they were beautiful. My grandpa owned a little delicatessen on the main floor. My mom could give you all the details on the original look and plan of that entire building and a few pictures

It's such a shame that they let these huge buildings go to waste. I love the older houses and buildings with the woodwork and fireplaces. Imagine how nice this building would be fixed up. They don't make them like they did back then. The city needs to stop letting the banks let them sit here and rot. Instead how bout let people live in them as long as they keep up with it and pay the utilities. They'd rather evict people and let the building rot away. My idea wld solve alot of the homeless problem keep these nice old buildings restored and keep the neighborhoods nicer.

Time for the City to go after Slum Landlords and force them to fix, sell or give away their abandoned buildings. Cleveland is a great City to keep improving. If you can't be part of the solution, sell and get out.

There’s another apartment building in cleveland I’ve been to a few times it’s not as put together as this one but it’s still really cool and everyone left in a hurry so there’s lots of furniture and just things there.
