That was the last year for the 318 polyshpherocal headed motor; it was the "a" motor which shares block dimensions with the la 318 which was a lighter casting but had wedge heads. The valve layout was later copied by both Chevrolet and Ford which is apparent if you look at the big block Chevy heads and the Ford Boss 9's. But Chrysler had it in the fifties and it is obviously a great design since copying it is what gave Chevy and Ford a competitive edge in the late 60's and early 70's. It's one really great engine
I get a lot of enjoyment with where your mind goes and what you say and do that's on the dirty side. I'm the same exact way but I don't know how much youtube will let me say. You're entertaining for sure.
Nice job getting her running. My grandpa had a 66 Fury 1 two door sedan, no ps, no pb, no a/c, 318, 727. She racked up over 250k miles. I sure would like to have her back
Great car and show. The audio gets loud with the music, soft with the voices, loud with the voices, etc. Is there anyway to get it universally consistent? Not being critical just an observation/opinion.
Loping can be caused from timing, compression, or a vacuum leak...in rare occurrances the distributor drive gear, rotor button, or cap...I have seen carburetors cause this problem as well.
that distributor looks to be in the correct position, also looked like number 1 was in the correct place...for the vacuum advance to swing the timing that far advanced, you may have timing chain issues, of coarse you never know if someone was tinkering either...may have installed the distributor gear in wrong, or who knows...
not bad, wheels put me in mind of the old 68 charger mags...I had a set of the 15 inch factory style that came on the vans trucks and ram chargers on my 79 St. Regis...they bring a nice look...as for the skirts, I vaguely remember people blacking them out once upon a time, but I like em.
I could be that air conditioner holding back that engine...? Take belt off may get that serge out there...its not timing! Or pluged exaust ? Wierd one...ive owner about 20 of those poly engines.
