Season 5 has some tweaks to be done for sure. but im actually super enjoying the oldschool diablo playthrough. continues 11am pst sunday. all diablo campaigns in a row: www.twitch.tv/darthmicrotransaction
Diablo4 has nothing for no-season players... it feels like a 3-month reset game in Early Access. where the heck are the goblin version. What about much more Chests, they need to fix that dumb script. Look at last epoch you can have over 70 chests ( I mean Space inventory^^) Absolute shame, the dungeon spawn points in you die and fighting vs time. Why they make a story in this game, when after its finised only season her season their... we want base game content not some reset shit every 3 month you start from new. Path of Exile make the same shit, but yeah that game was much better in core and dont feels like an Alpha.
@@mx-gaming87 I hated Seasons when I played POE but that was because I never made it to end game. Of course people that are end game and geared in Eternal would just move onto different games if there were not seasons for them to restart with some new twist. The twists are generally terrible so far in Diablo 4. Season 2 was only good seasonal mechanic, season 4 was the worst seasonal mechanic (kill stuff in helltides and turn it in for Rep). Most of the game changes have been both Eternal and Seasonal. I actually think Seasonal people are getting the short end of the stick. The restart is nothing anyways in Diablo. You can hit like 80-in 5 hours. 100 in a couple days.
@@krylesangerbeaver Diablo 4 season are so lame like diablo 3 season. In diablo 3 season time you see clearly that blzzard only invest her money and developer teams... for Hardstone, Overwatch, Heroes of the storm champions and WoW. They not care about Diablo 3 suppot the main game. It was the restarting thing to add some crap, in a season that was all. Even some Fans that very skilled to add mods in games, can do this in what 1 month? For such a big companies they act like some indie game studio, they play the thing do not much and let them pay for the in game shop... In my Eyes Blizzard is dead. I get diablo 4 from a friend for free. So i never buy a game from blizzard again. I was even thinking to pirate some games, that comes only from greedy studios... to not support them, but play the game if this is ok for some days or weeks to let this drop, when i have enough. EA and Ubisoft, are on my orange card not much and they get my red card too. Image from a companies i care a lot about that.
@@peter486 -They could add Raid for 6 Players with bigger zoom out factor. -They could add all goblins from Diablo3. -They could add better guilds system and guilds event quest that chance every 2 weeks. -They could add an NPC that can chance your skill to a different dmg type. - They could add way more World Bosses and that a fight takes longer and add higher version with more mechanics from boss - they could add so many things but no, its a season low game and put some developers to make some skins that all. If they supported diablo 4 like the no man sky developers then, blizzard could stand up from their bad image. But there are so many dumb people that support them and trust them. Good i dont waste money for this game and it was a gift. But not a good one.
Even team just gets lucky, both teams worked on season 4 and season 6 will be expansion. Season 2 wasnt that good. Also, people on teams got moved around, those arent the same teams anymore.
Season 2 was the best season IMO. New Powers, new Helltide, new unique questline, 5 new bosses. That's literally the most additions they've Ever done so far. Even seasons are consistently good. At this point I have to wonder, are they planning it? 🤔
@@raine6634 well kinda. I'm a fan of the simplicity and pace. But I play maybe every other season for a few weeks if my friends are before moving on. It's not Blizzard North quality by any means
@@NokturnalMTG i think thats just your own self esteem there mate, games arnt boring alone at all, granted it fun with friends sure but nothing wrong with solo play
I could imagine a lot of people would explode because of the ps1 load times. It's perfect time to get done with what needs to be done, grab some snacks, and then get ready to sit back and have some fun. Those are some good memories. Especially 2-player.
Hey man can you help me out. I just started playing diablo game. I played it 2 months straight then quit because of work and didn't like the pay stuff in the shop. Just joined up again and it's asking me to make another character? Whats up with that for the new season
@@genises200 Seasons last for a limited time. When a season ends, your seasonal character becomes Eternal (non-seasonal) and you have to create a new seasonal character.
I Played Diablo 1 when it released in Late 06' Early 97! It was My First Real Experience with Single Player RPG and First Multiplayer with My Friends. They Turned My onto D1 and I was Hooked! Nothing will Ever Replace Us Guys (Twenty-Year-Olds) Going Down to Defeat Diablo Himself the Very First Time! Played Every Iteration of Diablo Since with D2 my Fav. Loved Your D1 Play Along Video.
SUPER DOPE! I can NOT wait to see your impression of D2, forget just the Diablo franchise, my favorite game of ALL TIME! Really cool I think of you going back and playing them all
in the BBS days, we had a game called Tele-Arena and there was a room called 'The Arena' where you could ring a gong and a monster would appear and you would fight it. This season 5 concept reminds me of Tele-Arena.
I love watching your channel because you keep it real bruh! Every time you have stopped playing a game and said it wasn't fun I have completely agreed. After trying to give feedback, seeing it ignored or poorly executed, and trying to be faithful by coming back another season it is good to see you aren't stuck in the "glutton for pain" loop!
I remember when my dad brought d1 home and we booted it up for the first time. I was 11. That's some serious nostalgia lol. It's good to go back to the beginning and see just how things have unfolded
Just bought D1 in the Blizzard sale, so was planning on doing the exact same thing. Play through the story/campaign in order D1-D4 watching all the cutscenes and clicking all the dialogue options as I go. Not going to be one per day though, I suspect that will only scratch the surface...there is a lot of lore in these games, it is quite a different experience from the blasting and racing to be world first with min-maxing etc and so on. Like two games for the same price...
Started in D1... Was obsessed. Played it when it was new. Also two. Completely obsessed with two...played religiously. Didn't care for three though. Curious to hear your opinions. Great idea, keep it up!
Man, I feel old. I remember getting hyped for Diablo coming out. When it did, that was all I played. It was amazing, there wasn't anything like it at the time and I was absolutely hooked.
You don’t have to play each class, but I’d love to see you play D1 again as a Sorcerer, to really get a feel for a true grind, as well as to witness the spells of old. Sound effects for Golem and its mechanics are fantastic! Stone Curse is also great!
8-12 players in one helltide map . D3 dense mob. Uber bosses around map. Tier modes for difficulty. Better chests. Map rotates like helltide. How does that sound? Fun? This is the kind of ideas they should come with. You can do legion so make something amazing beyond that.
There was just something about three... Maybe I had other stuff going on in my life at the time or something that prevented me from really getting into it? I don't know.
@@arthurwoodruff9454oh that was because it was developed by first person shooter devs who in their arrogance scoffed at the idea that D2 was actually a good game. I wish I were joking. Every core ARPG feature that D2 established such as interesting itemization and loot were completely cast aside by the D3 dev team and they made an arcade style game because they had more fun play testing it.
@@1TotalJabroni Well yeah D3 sucked at the start, got pretty good when ROS came out, for like 8 years they did nothing with the game and just let it die. They started doing some new stuff for it a couple years ago and i gotta say D3 is an overall better game than D4. I play a lot of ARPGs, i have thousands of hours on D2 (now D2R) i have over 4000 hours on Poe and i gotta say D4 is just boring, i load up D4 and i go do a helltide or a pit and i tab out and watch youtube until i disconnect from the game for being inactive. D3 for the first 3-5 days of a season is incredibly fun, but then it gets super boring because the only thing to do is grind paragons. D2 is not as intense fun in the start but its fun and it keeps being fun for weeks, maybe even a couple months. Especially now in D2R when they actually add new runewords and other things to spice it up. D4 is just kinda fun from lvl 40-80 then at lvl 100 it just gets plain boring. Poe>D2>D3>D4, that is my take on it. Poe only being better than D2 if we compare it to how it is now, if we compare it to launch when it was just a worse D2 clone then yeah D2>Poe>D3>D4. However it is sad to me that the newest game is the most boring.
Honestly if Blizzards only way of giving us better rewards was by putting a World Tier 5 with insane difficulty that only the most decked out S-tier builds could even attempt to do the content in there I would be down for it. Wouldn't even need to add a world tier 5, just git rid of the current world tier 3, make the old world tier 4 start at lv50 and the new world t5 (which would be wt4) start at 100. Done.
Yeh his one of those peeps who started from D3, he literally missed out on the best 2 Diablo games D1 & D2 Infact alota people that’s play D4 All came from D3 and they always brag about how good D3 was… I’m just thinking , I betcha havnt even played D1 or D2 before
@@petajai840 maaaaan. Diablo 2 is the GOAT ARPG, so happy he's playing through it. Wish he would consider playing all the way through Hell Baal to get the full experience
One of the things I loved doing in D3 was every four of five seasons using it as a complete reset to play the game as if it was new. Play the story starting at level 1 with a different character with nothing in the stash and no resources. Great fun.
Actually, a few years ago I was like "why would ANYONE want to play Diablo I when II absolutely smashes it" and then I played it and I kind of had to eat my words. I mean the game has aged but I did have a good time with it. What was crazy was I actually got the Grandfather to drop from the Leoric fight tho. Freakin' nuts.
I agree with the infernal hordes. I feel like it's missing something. It has potential, but it's not there yet. I could also see this being a fun way to level up quickly if they ever decide to make it available for lower levels
If you loved Diablo 1, then Diablo 1 The Hell 3 mod is what you need. Actually has classes and custom gear for each one. In addition to the missing quests from original game.
I just got a double GA Andariel’s Visage and a Harelquin Crest off one Duriel kill. Amazing feeling. As long as the Pit and Uber drop rates stay the same, I will be having fun in Season 5
Glad you enjoyed D1! One issue i have with expectations if modern games is about the duration of enjoyment. It seems like people expect 100 hrs of edge if your seat enjoyment when like you said, a once great game was only 8 hrs. D4 was awesome through lvl 70 (as a general consensus) which was like 40 hrs or more. To me, that is plenty value for my money. Same for Starfield.
Would be cool if the Infernal Horde was like D1, where you kept delving deeper and deeper into hell or a dungeon or whatever they eant it to be, with really cool and intresting modifiers applying to your character to change the gameplay drastically and some for rewards on the gambling aspect which could affect the enemies gameplay as well.
Couldn't agree more my brotha! I just loaded D3 up again to run through it as like you said I don't care much for the new mechanic it was fun for a day or two but now it's just too repetitive. Looking forward to your streams though!
Honestly, i like all the Disblo campaigns. Sure, D3 had no "oh shit didn't see that coming!" moments (except maybe Zoltun Kulle's stuff) but they're all fun to me. Can't wait to watch the stream while i log back into my own campaign replay of 4.
Before they announced the season 5 content I was playing D4 with a friend and complaining about how much I don't like the Pit and find it to be really shallow. I sarcastically said that they might as well just put you in a room, make you fight waves of enemies, and then a boss... little did I know that this is basically what they would do. Hopefully season 6 with the expansion will be really good, because POE2 is getting close and D4 is a long way from being able to compete with it.
I'm sure I will play some of S5, but yeah it seemed very uninteresting based on the campfire chat. Reading the blog post from Last Epoch today got me WAY more excited.
Actually kind of wish you'd go online with your d2 playthrough and level the character up to 90+. Part of the magic of Diablo 2 was the rune word system, which you won't experience much in a single player story only run. I also recommend the Path Of Diablo mod
"Big! Big cleaver killing all my friends. Couldn't stop him, had to run away, couldn't save them. Trapped in a room with so many bodies...so many friends...noooooooooo!"
Haha. Man. I am such a Diablo fanboy. It was my childhood. Started Diablo 1. When even online was live. Played Diablo 2 religiously for a combined probably 12 years (I know every says “I played Diablo for 20 years!” No you didn’t. You played 20 years ago for a year) burned d3 for a bit. Then back to d2. Then d2r. Now I’m on d4. What’s great about them is you have an insanely different experience with each class. Especially in d2. The classes are actually significantly different.
I look at season 5 as being a short season mostly meant to bridge the gap before the expansion adding in some QOL stuff that wasn’t ready for season 4, do additional balancing and get new aspects and tempers and legendaries in. All stuff that along with what they did in season 4 actually makes the eternal realm not seem like such a waste of time to hang out in now, especially if you had unfinished characters or have a bond to characters from past seasons. What I would kinda like to see is more people in the open world and especially helltides. Helltides are way more enjoyable for me when you come across a stranger and start crushing a few screens together or they help you out. It makes you feel less alone in the world and game and there’s this unspoken agreement made that you’re gonna wreck carnage together in a mutual beneficial way for at least a few minutes. I can’t tell if people are just more abundant around where the maidens are or if they just control how many people can be present within your session there. Way too many times I’ve been caught fighting the one commander guy roaming around by myself amazed at how nobody else runs by
Always interesting to see people calling the infernal hordes the season mechanic. It's coming to eternal realm as well so even if it's part of the season its not really the season mechanic. Finnaly he's playing D1 and D2 !
Gameplay holds up TBH. Sure its simple, but its still fun...and the loot drops are still dopamine hits. There's a version out there called Beezlebub that includes all quests and introduces some QoL improvements from D2.
I was working with older dudes at egghead software and one day I came in and my coworker just wouldn’t get off the demo machine playing diablo when it first came out.
It's really remarkable seeing so many hardcore ARPG and looter players getting bored with the core aspects of, like...loot and repetition and grinding...and getting far more stimulated by, like...adventure and story and the fantasy of what the game is actually about. Look back to the past year or two of the most amazing games to come out. Very few, if any, are dedicated "looters." Games specifically made to be a generic platform for bashing millions of enemies in the fastest and most efficient way possible. They're games with fantastic writing, amazing art and atmosphere, beautiful voice acting and character work, compelling narratives and themes, things that really immerse you. Repetitive loot systems can be satisfying and fun, but they have a pretty hard ceiling for how emotionally invested a person gets, and I've had people argue against this constantly that "looters should be about loot." Okay cool, but loot inevitably gets boring, and devs have proven to not be able to make enough to truly sate the hardest of the hardcores salivating for more loot. "Making a good game" should be immersive and varied and provide unique experiences, not just "here's another horde mode to click through the same way you did the last million times hoping for a differently colored rarity to drop and give you that sweet sweet audio sting."
as i understood, its not the new season mechnic, right? I think this is a new endgame system for all (eternal and seasonal realms). Season mechanic wasnt even announced.
Season 5's questline culminates with your ability to do infernal hordes and you think infernal hordes isn't taking the place of a seasonal mechanic? jfc some people just use your brains. There is no seasonal mechanic to announce. Plus this is the odd team, expecting a good season out of odd team after they've failed literally twice now, that just means you're something worse than a fool.
Treating it as a game... love the sound of that. A new game releases and it needs to be compared to other games on the market. People simply cant just enjoy a video game anymore.
side quests (and everything in the map in general, including the map) was the D4 team not being able to decide between making D4 an MMO or not. so we're stuck in this awkward middle ground where half the game sucks. and which half depends on your camp really.
I called it boring when they demonstrated it. I called it boring when Raxx played it. I got hate comments, but it is what it is. Nothing interesting. Just waves and lackluster rewards. This Design team has no creativity.
Me too. It didnt seem an attention grabber. I mean even though s4 was my fave so far. Realistically. You start doing hell tides repeat until you can do nightmare dungeons. Repeat.... Tbh i cant even see the expansion being worth it right now
After a long time away from Diablo 4, I thought I'd try again. Liked the thing about finding uber unique gear so after several hundred hours of leveling on my 100 character I couldn't find any uber. After coming across a video from Rob where he took down Duriel with hundreds of uber items I lost my joy. I found 5 items with 3 stars. But after trying to upgrade I lost these when I didn't get the loot I wanted. I see that season 5 is for hardcore players. A sense of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. New update suits old hardcore players. I did not find the joy of playing again. It must be easier for new players to find good gear. Will make new tray 8 Oktober when new class Mercenaries.
I’m so far done hanging around for games to get better because I have fond memories of the IP. I pass on trash faster than I have in 10years these days. No fomo when I know I’m not missing out.
Can you do a little review of d2 resurrected? Never played myself but always fancy picking up, also hear you on D4 got a lvl 96 necro atm and can’t be bothered to max him, was enjoying them once hitting 90 I just lost all motivation to carry on
Man I hope they "Resurrect" Diablo 1 in the same way they did Diablo 2, introduce new items, new enemies, bosses, add more dungeons or at least make a system where there's an endless dungeon, but of course, keep the mechanics but make it worth the time investment to keep playing. I think if they consider that, they would make a lot of money.
They need to diversify events, as you said is just a room where events spawn it’s ok but they need to do way more than that, we need at least 3 different activities for the next season, with different mobs and goals it just feels more of the same… and that is not good I wish they gave us 2 or 3 different bosses per season too it’ll make the game so much better and a loot filter too
I played the PTR for two days and felt it was truly underwhelming. It's just not something that will sustain me for a season, and that's besides the tweaks and fixes they need to implement, along with the gross class balancing. One change I did like, was that the world boss lasted long enough to do a round of mechanics, but yeah. Hopefully it receives some love and cheers to the people putting in hours of feedback.
Quadrillion? You must’ve made an error, sometimes the numbers pop,up on screen identically side by side and tacks on more zeroes than are actually there
Season 5 isn’t bad they just need to tweak things a lot and most importantly take our feedback that we all want a roguelite/survivor game mode with crazy fun cool choices and not the lame choices we have
my problem with D4 is the balancing issues u can build a barb in such a garbage way and still push high tier pits, meanwhile other classes are being nerfed and struggling with pushing the higher tiers.
They cant balance 5 or give a fun end game loop but for just $40+ you get a single class they cant balance, couple missions, and promises it wont be bad. Such a joke this company has become.
