The MRR Innovation Lab hosted an event in October, 2019 in Washington, DC to share results of a project pairing CIMMYT drought-tolerant maize with index insurance in Mozambique and Tanzania.
This panel discussion featured academic research and insurance industry perspectives on the project and it's impacts. The panel included Israel Muchena, Director of the Hollard Insurance Agricultural Insurance Division, Paswel Marenya, Senior Economist in the CIMMYT Socioeconomics Program, and Travis Lybbert, Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at UC Davis and the project's Co-lead Investigator.
