ACC | I’ve Never Seen ANYTHING Like This! LFM GT3 @ Silverstone

I’ve been in fantastic form on Assetto Corsa Competizione recently, and I’ve got every reason to believe I can challenge for another podium today in this Go Setups GT3 Sprint at Silverstone on Low Fuel Motorsport.
Yes, I’m starting down in P7, but look how close it is - my qualifying time is only 0.1 off the top three, so I’m feeling full of confidence in the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.
The leading two look a bit too quick to catch but, as we so often see in ACC LFM GT3 racing, anything can happen. And it doesn’t take long at all for this race to be blown wide open. Check out what happens at the start of this one, and then stay tuned to see if I can make the most of it…

Great job on your second win! For me, I absolutely love the Lamborghini, but the car just doesn't like my driving style. The Ferrari or BMW are probably my strongest cars, except they are both the most common options which is a bit unfortunate since I usually like the rarer options. Nonetheless, this Lamborghini seems to bring you the best of luck, since your first win was also in the Huracan (I think?). Looking forward to more!

Yeah, it’s funny how you find a car that just seems to suit your driving style. I persisted with the Ferrari and BMW for a long time, but switching to the Lambo has made me much faster in such a short time. It’s clearly not a popular choice, as often I’ll be the only Lambo on the grid. But it definitely seems to be a perfect match for my driving style. Cheers for watching 😃

Cheers, yeah a crazy start! You can understand why all the others followed the leader instead of their HUD. I was hovering at the top end of my green box, worrying about them getting away, but just sensed something wasn’t right so I held back. Definitely one to remember for next time… ALWAYS follow the HUD!

Congrats! I’d definitely advise getting a few ‘play it safe’ races in first, just to give your SR a healthy buffer. When I first left Rookies, I spent the first couple of months yo-yo-ing to and from rookies. I found that getting my SR up to at least 6.00 or ideally 7.00, gives you a bit of a safety net for the odd disaster! Good luck, hope to see you on the grid 😃

Congrats Chris, great win, I'm running about the same pace as you so perhaps I'll see you on the grid this week :) I've had a similar start experience on LFM at Watkins Glenn last year, I was sitting 4th and the top 3 all zoomed off during the rolling start, I was so surprised I nearly went with them. Fortunately I didn't, they all got drive throughs and I got clear air ... still stacked it in the Inner Loop about 5 laps later though 🤣

Brilliant. We all need a bit of luck from time to time. Been trying out the Mustang this week. Time's gradually come down but you're still quicker than I am around here. You seem to have T1 nailed but that's probably the one I struggle with the most.

T1 is definitely a lap-spoiler if you get it even slightly wrong. I’m not super consistent at it yet… I’d say in that race, I nailed it spot on around 50-60% of the time, but the other times I either took too much inside kerb or ran too wide on exit (that’s what earned me the track cut warning towards the end). The laps I got it right, my lap times were about 0.5 quicker straight away. Interested to hear what the Mustang is like. I’m in such good form with the Lambo at the moment, I’m scared to try anything else in case I lose the feel for it!

@@chrisrogerssimracing In the right hands, the Mustang seems to be one of the best cars in the game. My all-time PB is only 1.59.8 and I'm sure it was only at our last visit here that I started to put things together. Before then, I was in the 2.02-2.04 range. So, it made sense to try out a new car on a track I've never been competitive at. With the 296, I play around a lot with the TC throughout the lap on most tracks. The Mustang has a lot of torque but because of it, it can be very slow off the mark exiting slow corners. A TC of 5 can cause the wheels to spin but a TC of 6 can cause the TC to engage too aggressively. Once it gets going, though, seems to be one of the fastest cars in a straight line. Doesn't corner as well as the 296 and difficult to find free setups at the minute. Found one and thought the guy was trolling because most of the settings were tanked right up or right down. But it works.

Cheers mate, yeah I know you had a rough time in ACC / LFM a while ago, but the racing has been pretty good lately. Even in the lower splits - this was a bottom split race, but everything seemed pretty clean. Start line gaffes aside!

Interesting starting procedure, where was the couple of seconds when you need to keep the 70 km/h limit? I never saw anything like that in my 3500+ hours in ACC, of course it happened in an lfm race... :D

It was bizarre. I was waiting for the speed limit instruction, and it almost caught me out when it went straight to green. I’m guessing it was because the pole position driver was SO far forward, he crossed the line to signal the start of the race before the 70kmh warnings had even come in 🤣

@@chrisrogerssimracing I've seen a lot of strange things on the lfm servers, that's the main reason why I don't race there anymore. I would like to know what happened on the monitor of the guy who started from pole, because he certainly didn't want to start the race with a DSQ on purpose... :D

Thank you. It’s quite a long editing process to get them! After recording the race, I’ll go to the replay file and record TV clips separately. Then insert them in. If you go to my channel homepage, there’s a How To video, where I show how I make them 👍
