Honestly the best games in the series. The fan translation patch has been released now guys so play this game. All 5 cases are stunning in every way (dat 3rd case omfg). Cases 3 and 4 feel like final cases, and Case 5 has the most epic reveal. Play play play.
I came back to this trailer because Capcom is releasing arranged versions of the tracks as a pre-order bonus for the collection and showcased a snippet of "Wanting to Find the Truth" (or whatever its real name is) in their new trailer. It's unfortunately not the same track... but it would have been incredible if it was. I really like the Dual Destinies-style little bells and the synths that this one has and have been wanting a clean version ever since finding this trailer so many years ago! Maybe it will feature on the new soundtrack somewhere like other promo tracks for the newer games were.
This game looks so great, I mean: -Logic chess, -updated sprites -more "human side" of Edgeworth -Returning characters -Shelly the Killer! Hope it will be on 3ds, but on normal ds is also great! I mean, More Ace Attorney is always good news. Now let's hope they make another AJ game after this.
*SPOILERS!* Honestly, as much as I love DD and JFA, this is by far the best game in the series. There are practically no characters who you really want to see apprehended or killed. Simon and Knightley have one of the saddest backstories in the entire series in my opinion, they deserved so much better. Also, Sebastian is here. That’s pretty much all I need to say. He is “The Best”, after all.
This game give more backstory of Manfred von Karma vs Gregory Edgeworth tied it up with how von Karma got his first and last penalty. It also has a villain you can hate and a villain you can sympathize with. You also got introduced to one of the best character "Tateyuki aka Uncle Ray."
I've ridden the Ace Attorney train for so long, these characters feel like real people to me! I so badly want this to be localized so I can play the sequel of a game so awesome, it turned Miles Edgeworth into my favorite character!
At first I couldn't make heads or tails of the music, but now I think I've made sense of it: From 0:13 to around 1:08 sounds what will be the game's Cornered theme. And a quite awesome one at that. From 1:08 to 1:25 sounds the game's Logic Chess theme (I guess it'll have a theme, like the Magatama had). And from 1:26 'til the end of the trailer, the Cornered theme again, now a bit faster. And a bit more awesome. I'm so glad they chose Iwadare as composer for both AAI games, he's amazing.

@Chiiwanu Some sources claim that the Logic Chess system is a sort of Magatama-like system, where instead of presenting evidence, you choose what line of questioning to follow. Edgeworth and the confronted party are both represented by a chess piece, and every time you do a correct step forward in the line of questioning, your chess piece advances threatfully over your oponent's. My guess is that when you win a battle of Logic Chess, there's a "Checkmate!" bubble. How awesome would that be?
@Waddaleman Thats why we LOVE the ace attorney series, the first case was good but it needed to be just a little longer, I hope the first case here will.
I haven't seen this trailer in so long, I forgot that it apparently went nuts with a synthesizer. I also forgot how I got chills when they showed Edgeworth facing Shelley for the first time.
Now I need a memory eraser gun...I'm going to be hype for this game and it wont be out for like another year...its better I forget about it until then.
@bloodedge99 Just look for a statement by one of the head honchos at Capcom. His name's Christian Svensson, and he personally told the fans that he himself is looking into ways that this game can be released. He's helping us along, so we shouldn't slow down on letting Capcom know we want this game!
Another game has been announced other than this one. The other one will be released on the 3DS. Phoenix is back as the co-main character. The other is professor Layton! @AFKabi Text heavy games such as this take time. There's a lot of stuff that has to be changed. Graphics that contain text, audio, character quirks, names, etc. Fan translations aren't a quick job, y'know. Like actual localisations, don't expect it to be out anytime soon. We're doing all we can at Court-Records to make it a very good fan translation (so it stays faithful to the series and is more of a localisation), so please be patient.
@Waddaleman yes, indeed! also, if it is as for the previous games, this trailers soundtrack is very likely to be a remixed version of the cornered theme (and of the logic-chess mode i suppose), and it sounds promising!
I think US and EU's only chance of getting this game is if Ace Attorney vs Professor Layton does exceptionally well in the US and EU, if it does well a lot of people who like Professor Layton might give the Ace Attorney series a chance and then Ace Attorney sales will go up and they will see they CAN make money here off of this game too
@Thedafe04 lol Oh trust me, I know it will be worth the wait! This may sound weird, and in a way I kinda hate to admit it but as much as I love the Phoenix and Apollo, Investigations beats them both in terms of gameplay. I cant even play the other games anymore knowing that I wont be able to "move" the character.
@Addiction021 You don't really get how it works, huh? In truth, we were lucky to receive DS ports of the original trilogy. There are factors that affect localization process. Mainly, if the cost of localization will be outweighed by the profit of localization. SF is a series with a pretty much guaranteed success rate worldwide, so localization is imminent with a title like that. For a more niche title like this one, they really take into consideration if it will be worth porting.
@comander352 But it only takes place in America in the localised version. In the Japanese version, it takes place in, well...Japan. Also, people! Have hope. We fans have already changed Capcom's minds about the release of this game from a solid no to a maybe. Just keep on supporting the series, buying the Ace Attorney mangas, buying the WiiWare versions, merchandise, etc. We can make Turnabout Localisation happen!
@skymin7 i found the answer! was looking for another name and i stumbled upon a list of new characters in the game. her name is mikiko hayami and is a reporter, lotta's japanese name is Natsumi Oosawagi so it's a different person.

When a played all the Ace Attorney games (save for AJ) last summer, I bought all used copies EXCEPT for Investigations. Why? Because there were no used copies available!!! People loved the first game too much to return it so it's obvious we want this game!!! Cmon Capcom don't make us beg!
anybody notice in the first trailer that shelly dekiller has on a badge with his logo but edgeworth didn't recognize it? wasn't he the one who explained what that symbol stood for in justice for all?

Something i miss from the ace attorney games. Were the instakill moments were all your bar was on bet on your statment. It was sometimes annoying but it added Excitement to the game. I hope the new game has some sort of super damage or instakill for a wrong response.
@Crok425 no gonna happen the 3DS is on the way and only the fact that they made another aai for the ds is evidence that the next aa will be on the 3DS...it will probably release a year or so after the 3DS gets released
