They did it was called the YF-12 (which was designed by Kelly johnson himself at the skunk works) and was an sr71 with air to air missiles for interceptor capabilities but unfortunately the DoD didn't want it

@@splay4770 correction the YF-12 was a fighter-interceptor variant of the A-12 Archangel not the SR-71 Blackbird. It's easy to get the 4 family members mixed up but everything is mostly derived from the Archangel Program.
You could've gone faster by taking the path through the city. It's a tight squeeze between the radar circles but it puts you on the elevator right as the mission starts
In real life they'd always have the same speed relative to the aircraft, regardless of the aircraft's own speed. I think that's how the game works too but would have to double check, only flown the darkstar a couple times.
@@OccamsWoodChipper air resistance. The missile can only go as fast as the rocket motor allows. At Mach 10, dynamic pressure over the skin of something like an aim-9 is going to be greater than the 17kn of thrust coming out the back
@@iceman5117 if the missile (which has a less powerful engine, yes, but is also much lighter) has a thrust-to-drag ratio greater than one at whatever speed the plane is flying when it fires, it will still accelerate away from the plane if the latter maintains a constant speed. You're right that it almost certainly doesn't, though; I didn't think about it carefully enough. Mostly I was just noting the basic principle that a projectile's (which, I now realize, is not a category that includes missiles) velocity relative to its "launcher" is independent of both objects' velocity relative to some third fixed reference point--but you're again correct that that only holds in vacuums or, with some degree of error, at low speeds in a non-vacuum. Also worth noting here that the Darkstar in the game only gets up to like Mach 4 or 5, because (I would guess) going any faster would create technical issues. The one in the movie wasn't armed and I don't think any real-world plane of that kind would have the ability to be.
I held WR for about an hour. If you follow a specific route and use the fastest plan and hold 90% throttle (which is slightly faster). You can run this in about 43-44 seconds

The Darkstar is one of the best Air to Ground aircraft in the game with the XSDB. You can destroy up yo four targets in a pass and disappear before anybody can do shit to you. It’s hilarious.
Well it’s very overpowered, it’s quadruple the damage, you could destroy a whole entire fleet within seconds instead of using 4AGM or a OP weapon like the EML
This mission trolled me. I played it like the radar mission from Ace Combat 5 and kept my ceiling below 500. Try that, the AC5 mission, full afterburners the_whole_way… then come see me, nugget. The wind doesn’t remember our passing, but the mountains do ☠️😂 That was my favorite AC challenge
Lets be Honest, Between Bandog and Long Caster, Sky Keeper, is just very forgettable, also, like your former squadmates, hes never again mentioned after the sham trial.
That might be right, but I still felt bad for him when he said "Lend me a hand Tirgger" and then we fucking "killed" Harling. Imagine the deception and, perhaps, trauma he went through. Kinda sad.

With 5000+ speed you can dart between the clouds and ignore most of the radar bubbles. Radar doesn’t pick you up in the clouds and you get three seconds in radar before the mission is failed

I purchased 3 DLC missions on Ace Combat 7, and there is no link to download them. It says it is purchased, but no download link. I called Sony and they said that I downloaded them, but I don’t have them. I am reinstalling the game again, if that doesn’t work I got screwed out $16.
Mein Gott ist das Game schrott... Mach 5 Plus in dieser höhe würden das Flugzeug demontieren.. Und enge Kurven mit Mach 5... da wäre nach einem AOA von 0.9% schon längst schluss :D Aber für Kinder oder einfach Just for Fun sicherlich spannend.
I wish the Dark Star was never added to the game. It broke the multiplayer which was fun, challenging, and rewarding. Maybe it would've worked better if the Dark Star was fast but it had the turning circle of the Moon.
