Acedeck Ares X1 4WD
This truly is a “Welcome to a new world” board the screams potential.
This is not your Dad’s skateboard…it is the next generation board that WILL make you different.
With all four wheels pulling, nothing, not even a stair rail (watch the vid for meaning) can stop it.
Let’s do this!

⚡ *Another dope review* ⚡ Love the vans in the back dude. 🤙🏼 Off the top, it seems their customer service is "Ace" 👀 Love the attention to detail to notice the little QC issues. Their trucks look stunnin. Precision (often CBC) washers make a good difference - more locked it and err... precise ride feel. Great to see all the info on the remote but I agree, the screen should be a little bigger. Very fair critiques! Lucky the board was in rev mode, sounds like the accident could have been worse 😂

Thanks Dude! “Ace”…no pun intended. I think (hope) they will make some QC changes in the next version. Ya, when that bash guard hit the metal railing, I about had to clean out the shorts. And yes, the plate glass windows would have been much more expensive to replace. Looking back now…it was kind of funny. Appreciate the view and comment.

YES YES YES. I was hoping you were going to get this board. If you ever get rid of it I'd be first in line haha. Looking at the barrel real hard right now haha. STAY SAFE

Thanks Dude. I don't sell to many...if any of my boards...but I will keep you in mind. Regarding the Barrel, that look at ESK8UNITY's review of the board. He has done a good review and just uploaded it. Appreciate the view and comment.

As always, another great video. Dude I did the same thing with my Eovan the day I got it. Full throttle by accident and it left marks on my vinyl laminate flooring in my living room. It basically burned them in and are still there. I won't mention the dent in the bottom of my refrigerator door. Wife hasn't noticed that one yet. Lol

Ha...Dude...welcome to the ESK8 hotrod group. Think of it as a badge of honor. To be down right honest, the power of these boards is just fkn mind blowing. I have skated for years, and to see the look on the face of a fellow popsicle skater pumping his way along the street as you pass them is priceless. Never thought I would be doing a constant 32+ MPH on a skateboard. As for the dent on the fridge, blame the dog. Glad to see I am not the only guy who has done this. Appreciate the view and comment.

So you did that to the house , but no damage to the board. The bash guards worked 💪

Ya, literally checked the board first. No damage to the board or bash guard. The railing, not so lucky. It even bent two of the metal rods in the railing. So, ya, bash guards one…railing zero. Thanks for the view and the comment.

Wondering if you resolved the battery issue?

What was the specific issue you were having with the battery. I just got mine today and I’m having battery issues I think. The board will only run for 30 seconds, then shuts off and says “board voltage low”
@Rip9NinerRider
@Rip9NinerRider Год назад
Mine doesn't have the gaps front or rear, nor have I seen anyone else complain about that on the Acedeck forum. There are other issues but we have not seen that one. Once you get the charge port down it is a non issue, compared with my other boards it is much easier to access. Bad motors; it is a issue that more than one person has had. That said they are replacing them and have been fairly responsive. The truck kingpin is not really a kingpin you may want to look at it more in depth, it is just a bolt that isn't threaded into the truck base. The bolt/kingpin is held in with a lock nut so after 50-100 miles the bolt starts to wear on the truck base and bushings creating slop. This slop forces you to tighten the bolt more and more squishing the bushings to get the same ride feel you had previously. After a while you start to hear a click in the trucks because the bolt is moving back and forth in the truck base. BTW the board will go every bit of 35-37mph and I am about 200lbs, it is super stable even at those speeds.

Hey Rip...thanks for the comment. I can only review the board I have in front of me, and generally the decks and cover plates are formed with a mold. I am not saying everyone has the gap issue, but I bet it is more prominent than people realize. Will be interesting to see if the gap is eliminated when the replacement deck plate arrives. I agree the charge port is not a deal breaker, but I think there is a better way to design that. Hopefully they will review options. While I would agree, the board does not have a traditional pressed in kingpin, it still has a king pin...bolt as you describe it. I have not taken either of the trucks apart, but from what I can see, there appears to be nut in the interior of the truck. Once I am able to get some miles on the board, I will either confirm or refute the slop that you bring up. I am hoping that this style of kingpin does not do what you describe. If there is slop in the bolt, generally that would be caused by stretching the nut by rocking back and forth and if that occurs, tightening would not accomplish anything as the stretched nut would still be stretched no matter where you are on the threads of the bolt. I am not refuting what you are saying, but I am wondering if you are describing the slope that is in the pivot cup pin. Both pivot cup pins have some significant slop in them when you rock the trucks...even by hand. I am curious about the pivot cup bushing they used. You do bring up an area to watch. I am aware that the board does have greater speed potential. In my testing of the battery issue, I was in E to limit the speed to 22 mph. My battery testing was at about 15-18 mph. At 30+ mph when the board dies or potentially goes into a wheel slide (like it did the first time), that would be very detrimental to my body. Right before the battery dies, the board actually jerks or does a significant hesitation that if not expecting it, it will take you off the board. I am interested in your other areas of concern. Feel free to hit me up. This is worth staying on the top of and if significant issues arise, it is always a good idea to alert others. I do appreciate your view and comment. Let's keep the dialog open.

Thanks for the very detailed review, this board's specs is impressive however for all the little flaws, i think its way too expensive. The 10mm shafts and mismatched bearings for different wheels are among my biggest gripes!!
@esk8news328
@esk8news328 Год назад
No, 10mm shafts/axles is the way to go. Too many brands are having issues on 8mms. Good on Acedeck for not sticking with the trends.

Its on sale $1699 for black friday in OCT. Competition for Zeus Pro, and other boards right now. I think the Backfire hammer sledge is using 10mm also.

The gap at the ends of the cover are a design flaw I cannot get over. My Meepo Hurricane has gone through the rain with no issues. A valve extender sounds like a necessity. Also, some trucks are gravity cast and prone to failure under hard use. CNCed bushing cups are only eye candy unless they fit on the kingpin with no slop. True precision bushing cups can help improve the response of the bushings/trucks.

Very interesting thing happened. The morning after I posted that review, Acedeck service team sent an email indicating they were replacing the cover plate for this board in order to improve the signal between the ESC and the controller. We’ll see if they also addressed a better fit for the cover plate. There are two acceptable ways to mold trucks. One bring forging then the other being CNC. I think both are acceptable, but obviously forging is the best as it is stronger through the alignment of the steel fibers. CNC is acceptable and very strong too. These are CNC generated. Time will tell. I am hoping for no issues. I appreciate the view and comment.
@esk8ooligan
@esk8ooligan Год назад
I would somewhat agree with you on the price right now. Once they address some of the design flaws on this board though, I do think it could turn into very strong contender. For this board being a 4WD and having a lot of potential off road, I do think the 10mm axels is almost a must. AND, ya, those mismatched bearings was just a lack of attention to detail. I am still dealing with my battery issue on this board, and have jumped through so many hoops. Today, the new deck cover arrived that is supposed to deal with the remote control connectivity issue. Guess we will see...I didn't really have the issue. Appreciate the view and comment.

I love this board but yes there are some design issues. I am sure they are working to fix them. Being their first board, I would expect nothing less and am still really pleased with this board. I have the 2wd cause i value range over power. I can't wait to see this new mountain board they have coming out. I hope you get to enjoy your board soon.

@@Catamount19 I do like the board too, but like many have pointed out, there are some areas that need to be improved...hopefully on the next generation. Supposedly they are sending a new battery, but I have not seen any confirmation as to shipping. Right now, the board is off limits. The other day I took it for a short ride, and it shut down even earlier than it had before and the battery was depleted. Threw me into some speed wobbles even at 15 mph, but was able to lean out of them. Just not worth it until the new battery arrives. Appreciate the view and comment.

Super slow, meepo hurricane is at least somewhat transparent about top speed, ace deck won’t dare do a top speed test, they know why too
