Thank you Sergio, this video became a bit long because of all that my friend :), but I was too lazy to edit as after a full days work I did not have much energy left :).
Well, you just talked me into a blind buy. The notes you've talked about and great experience with the house's Essenza and Colognia seem to make this a no brainer.
AC I’ve got to say your reviews are up there with the best on you tube. I love this fragrance , was love at first sniff for me. Just ordered the 180ml bottle.
Another great in depth quality review AC for a rarely talked about fragrance, I need to sample this as I have GIT and love Beach Hut. All the best my friend
I think you nailed it Mick, this is an under the radar fragrance. If you sample this you will like it and the best part is the versatility of this fragrance. All the best to you too my friend.
Very articulate, interesting and in-depth review. Keep them coming 👍. I smelled it a while back at a dept. store and really liked it, but never got around to buying it. I came across your review a week ago and decided to purchase it. Your comment about this being a mix of Sauvage and GIT in the opening is spot on.
I agree, this is a solid perfume house. I have Colonia Essenza, Intensa, Fico Di Amalfi, Oud, and Leather. Very interested in Quercia and Sandalo for which you have done an incisive and warm review. Keep up the good work.
It always gets better, this juice. I keep it in my frag fridge and when it's warm outside, a few sprays of this cold juice cools you down and brightens your day and just about wakes you up! I think this is also a frag that a suave salesman would wear. Worth the money.
Mate, this not only a great performer, it also smells amazing! I highly recommend sampling. I do not know this hasn't been given a lot of adulation in our frag comm.
thanks I did not know it was oak got the oud yesterday and some complimentary samples they were all fantastic. acqua is so fresh and clean and doesn't have that genric ingredient of so many others. this was the first time I went into those figures for a scent and it was worth it.
Nice one John, I am glad you liked it. This house consistently provides quality fragrances at affordable prices and doesn't get as much hype as the Creeds and Tom Fords IMHO. Happy exploring my friend :).
Man this is of the best reviews ever.....I couldn't agree more with each and every detail that you mentioned......I was surprised with the extreemly negative review that is there.....after which I focused more and kept trying it in several times....guess wat ...its very very refined perfume very classy over all its evolution phases....great great scent ....thanks man for the top quality review .....I hope you did any review for PDM flankers
Now that's an idea but I think most of the places I work in are strictly no cameras inside so will have to think about how I manage that ask from you :).
Stefan, I agree with the drydown of 900. Is it the same in the new bottles? Don't expect such artistry from this one though. Its a modernized and stripped down version of oakmoss. As a scent the whole part is great though.
I love Quercia, it’s the first of the ingredients line that I bought. It’s one of my wife’s favorites of all my bottles and she’s super picky. There’s a brand new one just released in this line called Vaniglia that I’m dying to try but it’s currently an exclusive of Herrods in London, I’d love to see a review of it.
Ah.... great that your wife loves it mate, this definitely is very attractive as you know :). I will visit Harrods soon so will have a sniff of Vaniglia. I also heard that in October they are releasing something , I am waiting for that too ..
Dave, I am absolutely delighted that I helped you discover a fragrance you like, this what makes doing reviews worthwhile. Have a very nice evening mate :), I am well chuffed for you :)
It's a very attractive parfume. It completely changes when dryies down, and becomes better and better after half hour losing the first second spray brightness.
I can't wait to get my bottle! I was going to get this for my husband in the beginning, but I love it so much I am keeping it for myself! Women can wear this too right? This fragrance had me hooked from the minute I smelled it!
Ofcourse Women can wear this Stacy :). I am the same as you, I was hooked the moment I smelled it for the first time. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
Yeah ! This is a winner to mi nouse , so versatile , for me better than aventus , more interest and complex , I have Sandalo too and when I smelled blow mi mind , 10/10 Fragance for me
@@SmellsGoodfragrancereviews at first I initially wrote it off as a bit boring and something I've had before with the tonka, vaguely reminding me off ysl la nuit de l'homme but this takes an incredible turn after 15 minutes ..like you said , becomes nice and gentlemanly and green ..one of my favorites now , I have oud, leather and sandalo. .all high quality and expertly blended
Is not this a fantastic scent? I freaking love this AdP. I also love Essenza, Colonia Club, and Colonia Oud. I have yet to smell the leather version. Your review is spot on and am surprised this frag is not more talked about other than it is for a maturer man, not a young guy. Thank you!
Do a review of Sandalo coz I’ve got multiple samples of it but I haven’t seen one review of it on RU-vid at all. This one I smelt the other day but I chose to buy Oud instead it was a more smoother smell to my nose
This was a blind buy based on advise given by perfume shop assistant and this scent is still in top 5 shelf of my scent collection. Great review, but I do not find similarity to GIT, which I don't like.
Interesting because someone said on fragrantica that it reminded them of amouage sunshine man as opposed to beach hut man. I could see this fragrance psychologically tormenting me because I love sunshine man and hate beach hut man. My only theory is the bergamot is making it smell more green than it is.
Its got absolutely no similarities with either Beach Hut or Sunshine Jay, and I can say that with all the confidence as I own all 3 mate :). Quercia is a really fine scent :)
An excellent review, AC. And I totally second Sergio's comment below. Must try this. Is there any aspect of Quercia that may have also reminded you of Loewe Esencia ? Thank you for taking the time out to review these under-the-radar fragrances, AC. Also looking forward to your episode on the Classics :-)
Thank you Sumant. I also quite enjoyed reading Sergio's comment :). I have to sample Escencia mate. I have sampled quite a few of the Loewe line and they were great. I will do the classics soon , just have to get into the mood I guess. I have done so many lists recently that I am craving full reviews. You know, I think a true reviewer worth his salt will do great full reviews. I know the lists get more views and more likes but the real satisfaction comes from doing a full review mate. Its like test cricket, a full review is the greatest test :)).
Totally understand, AC. I guess strategy (in depth reviews) and tactics (Top X videos) complement each other. And in your case, they are both top notch. About Loewe Esencia, to me it comes across as a combination of 3 fragrances - Polo Green, Clive Christian X for Men, and Quorum. And it is individually better than each - more complex than Polo Green, has better projection (atleast initially) than CC X, and is smoother than Quorum. And no matter how many times you've heard/read of it's drydown, it's only when you experience it that you'd know it to be true - the drydown is truly magical (I'm going off a sample of the vintage, AC. From what I've read, the new formulation is watered down). I'm beginning to think many Spanish fragrances share a common DNA - they are spicy, not in an oriental spicy way, but in a herbaceous spicy way. I get this vibe from Loewe, Puig, and even something like Heno de Pravia. Even their fresh colognes have this spiciness to them. Great going, AC !
Nice one, Sumant, enjoyed reading your detailed description. I am definitely on the look out for Loewe Escencia. Would you say the herbaceous spiciness is akin to bracken man or even yatagan?
AC, I haven't tried Bracken yet, but it is quite different from that in Yatagan. The best way I'm able to think of it is - if you remove the freshness from Polo Double Black, and add a layer of herbaceous spiciness to what remains....so a layer of herbaceous spiciness (perhaps basil, sage, rosemary etc. ?) to a layer of semi-ripe tropical fruit. I know all of this sounds clumsy but that's the best way I'm able to think of it. I do think, though, that the Spanish have come up with a form of perfumery that's quite distinct from that of their French and Italian counterparts. More sun, earth, and Mediterranean spice, I think :-). Have a very good weekend, AC ! And thank you again for taking the time out to bring these under-the-radar fragrances to our attention.
Very nicely explained Sumant and you have captured the essence of Spanish perfumery to the T. I agree with you. Did a fair bit of searching on Escencia as you really peaked my interest on it but learned that it has been reformulated and the vintage ones on ebay are going for close to GBP 100.00 ^ ^. I will see if I can great a fair deal. I can guage your taste a little bit now so i think you should sample Lippizan by Parfums de Marley, you may appreciate it. Have a great weekend.
Great in-depth review; spot on. Frankly, I blind bought this fragrance receiving it today. It was love at first smell - a beautiful, subtle and elegant creation. My only regret is that I didn't purchase it sooner. What are your thoughts on Ebano?
Thank you my friend :), I am glad you liked the review. Its is one of my favorites too, so wearable and elegant ! I haven't smelled ebano yet but I am planning to smell and review it soon.
