Apparently it was a mislabel in the VTX table and it actually is, 5, 25, 120mw. A new VTX table is in the works, but setting to 50 is just 25mw

@@NickBurnsFPV Watched the video twice and did not hear the part about the props. I see yours are reversed but you did not reverse the motors. Did you re flash it or change motor wires? Is it better with props out vs props in?

@@ChainsawFPV I believe it came with prop out orientation. the motors have to spin appropriately or the quad won't fly. Props out, tends to corner better and handle prop wash better, props out can often handle dives. This isn't always true, so if we are trying to solve a particular flight issue we have to try both.

I love that I'm in awe of the piloting skills in small spaces, and the technical knowledge and skills regarding the electronics and upgrading, etc. And then half the video is on how to fold a piece of card and inflate a plastic tube 😀. Ace. I reckon I have the gate construction covered, but it's always good to be thorough.

Looks like a nice capable whoop. You can really race around your house! Great flying as always. You should show off a blooper reel. I have a small place and can barely get any speed before I hit a wall. That price isn't too bad, but you're right, it's the new normal for now. Great review! I like the idea of those gates, but at the same time I know none of it will be recycled.

I have also been working on the ELRS Mobula 6. Unfortunately after 18 flights a motor magnet came loose. I repaired it, but its not right the flight time has come way down. Have to wait for new motors.

Just got mine last night broke the camera saddle my first crash.. put on a black canopy and a teal cockroach V2 frame. It handles well in a race on the stock tune. I would reccomend Ayyykayyys tune for racing.

Right now, there has only been 1 launched this year which is the petrel 75 from HGLRC, other than that we have to go back a year or more. The mobula 7, and I think the betafpv 75x 2s, or even the eachine trashcan. Otherwise we go the build route.

Love the balloon gate construction part. Very useful to see how it goes together - thanks! Love Newbeedrone whoops and Nitro Nectars. My pain points are the camera, overall weight and rolled connector in that order. Super durable though.

You know Mr Burns sir- I have no micros or whoops at all. I have 60 quads. Been flying since 2014. I build and do videography work for a living... I still get sucked into your video everytime. Your informative uber cordial and polite. In my opinion one of the top dive FPV channels. You really do some great reviews my friend. May get me a lil ripper lol. I have a toothpick... But im nuts and made it 6s and its stupid fast and tuned crazy good. But not an indoor quad in Anyway. Thanks for all you do!!!

I’m guessing the prop placement on the motor shaft on a higher side gives the perfect CG balance for this particular whoop. NBD must have figured it out and I am sure there’s this sweet spot for any whoop with the props / motor / battery / camera etc. as variables.

Off the top of my head I can't say. I looked at the hummingbird in 2020. I suspect motors and aio have been updated, sorry can't be more specific

Was hoping they would go higher kv on this one. I have a couple of the hummingbird pros almost 2 years old same kv and with the acception of the RX's in them dying from crashes they both still work fine. Original everything

I suspect the weight of their quads makes it hard to achieve 2:30 flight time with higher kv. I think 2:30 is pretty much the acceptable minimum for the market. Of course that depends on how one flies and the condition of their batteries.

For me, I would still go Mobula 6 race in a mobula 7 frame. That is the 1s combo I like best.

Dude, that was some smooth flying...looks like the tune was working well. I feel like the battery metering is a bit off as I regularly go down to 3.1 and by the time I get to my charger it's already back to 3.52. OH, and it looks like you didn't push your camera all the way into the little shelf (you can see the hood in your view) and that's probably why you are getting the shakes...I do that a lot :P

yea, I figured the camera wasn't right, it would start out fine, then in 15 seconds it would come down. Rather than fuss with the screws again...glue it. Do you run props down to the bell or props up top? I was surprised by the handling difference.

My latest build was a Moblite 6 board on one of the new version 65 mm cockroach frames. They aren't the lightest option out there, but they are definitely one of the most durable options in this size. The Tiny Whoop 333 mah batteries are another great option for the 65 mm builds. Those inflatable gates really are a good bargain!

I notice some gemfam props have hile all way through, others don't. On the V3 75mm frame if I use 0802 I can't push them all way down or they hit whoop spars. But if bi blades aren't pressed right down I find them to cause crazy vibrations.

I mite just have to get one of those to if banggood ever ships my namimno module the wait time is killing me lol. Good things to those who wait right lol. Great video. One other think those gates are slick for beginners due to them being inflatable they cant really damage your whoop from crashing into it compared to my PVC gates that can be a bite harsh on a fast impact.

Every time I watch your vids I want a new quad! I'm in need of an indoor and I'm wanting a long flight whoop. Any recommendations other than the moblites. Or is a moblite probably the best way to go for long flight

With long flight being a goal its going to be hard to find something that will fly longer and be 1s as the moblite 7. The 7 is much more efficient than the 6. 31mm props vs 40mm props, really no comparison. Really, we can even by a mobula6 and transfer to a mobula7. I prefer those as the moblites have an exposed main board.

Its comparable, but the sharp corning and decreased prop wash in sharp maneuvers is improved.

It will depend on the construction, the location your flying from, interference (wifi) and the receiving equipment. Try raceband 8, change your location to a central location and turn off your wifi.

I've had extremely mixed experiences with the NBD 65 frame. Flew my hummingbird for half a year (100+ batteries and crashes) before replacing the frame. However the new frame was smashed to pieces on the very first race day. It seemed way more brittle than the older frame which would bend rather than break. These have literally been both my longest lasting and shortest lasting whoop frames..

I have often wondered about the pouring or the temp of the process in making these frames. The reason I wonder is from one frame to the next on the same frame we have experiences like yours, where 1 was good for a long time and then another doesn't last. I don't know the chemistry behind plastics...just a wonder.

flying in angle mode? If so this is a common issue. If not flying in angle mode check the trims on the radio.

these can run on D16 also? took me forever to get the XJT Lite Module to bind in D8 to this whoop. I didn't even try D16 because I was told it only worked in D8!?

There is two parts, the fov and the image quality. The ant has better image quality but the bee eye has a wider fov. For me inside flying the fov is very important the more the better.

It looks like a frame is not that much unbreakable also. There are clear signs of (multiple) crashes

Unprotected props will likely cause them to pop. Designed for whoops only I believe.

Thank you both. I am in Seattle. I had a meteor 75 which I transformed to open frame after watching your mosquito frame video. It flies great. Now I don’t have a whoop anymore 😂 and with winter approaching want to get one to fly indoors.

I've heard it's been tried and they don't float. Tying with fishing line from above or the sides gives the same effect though.

I haven't flown redpine in two or more years. To get the drop down from betaflight I believe we need at least 4.2

The cockroach frame lasts me all of 3 days at most until cracked and broke to point of unflyable. Purchase a meteor65 frame to have so you not left grounded 😉.

I saw the hairline cracks in your frame that turn into breaks with more bumps. I was mad when the Cockroach frame only lasted 3 days and was told they would send another to replace the next time i order. I just went to Meteor65 frame and havnt had any problems since 😉

I bound in d8 mode. That’s about it. If you in d16 mode it is known to be problematic with spi (on board) receivers

I love this nick but I cam e across a mobula 6 with jumper t lite for like 140 I have to jump on that!!!!!!!rc wing has the deal and I been wanting a game controller for a minute now that I don't have my novice 4 anymore I kinda wanna get the advant avio 3.5 and have a jumper t lite for it......I miss my novice so bad....I didn't treat it like the long rang it said it was because I'm not a long range guy at all!!!!! I like close freestyle and race.....but the glue on the vtx finally gave away and kicked my wonderful quad of the radar......I'm so sad

t-lite and mob6 for $140 is a good deal. Grab a mobula 7 frame and transfer to that. The flight time and performance goes way up :)

Nick I know your an advant lover lol I am currently looking into a nice freestyle 3 to 3/5 inch possibly even 4 now don't be biased lol but I was thinking gep rc 35 or hglrc rekon 4fr or of course the avio 3.5....I am very impartial to them all however I just like to be able to change an arm if need be instead of the bottom plate....you have flown pretty much everything so your input would really help thanks✌ oh....and I am still getting the mobula6 jumper combo basically because of the radio and the fact I need a good whoop but I am putting the rig on a mobula 7

@@scu-dub Where did you find the t-lite and mobula 6 deal? I have not flown the rekon 4lr, but I would expect it to fly like other 4inch lr. Do you plan to carry a gopro or other hd camera on top? Need to be sub 250 grams? It seems with a decider being the replaceable arms, that means the avio 3.5 would be the 3.5inch to get. I wouldn't suggest trying to freestyle a 4inch lr. They all have skinny arms and aren't likely to take much abuse, even a hard landing might snap an arm or plate.

The official answer is that they need to be smaller to fit all the components in and have proper thick tracings...If they didn't have the best motors out there in 703 and 802 I'd complain more, but it sucks when i want to go 2s and use 1102/03

I like your videos, Nick. but I have had nothing but problems with anything newbeedrone. they use custom firmware for their 'bee brain' osd (dumb), which means it's not listed in the betaflight target list, and are always several months behind new bf realeases. but these nbd aio's weigh more than any other 5a aio, and every single nbd motor I've ever owned draws more amps than others of same size. 3 1202 flow motors draw about the same amps as 4 flywoo 1202.5's, lol. NEWBEEDRONE SUCKS!

For the premium price it seems like a solid-pin battery connector wouldn't be too much to ask? I mean, they started with whoops so surely they know that this is crap so I can't understand why they're still using these garbage connectors at this point 🙄 And proprietary (or at least uncommon) motor connectors? So we have to buy only NBD motors, I assume? Really? No, thanks.

I don't know either. I have said it in so many whoop reviews. One way or another I suspect its a business decision. If it doesn't hurt sales and the cost of a better connector is more than current.

@@NickBurnsFPV So, the reason I heard they haven't switched isn't a business one or that they have 1 million of their connectors. Apparently the downside to solid pin is that they are slightly bigger and over time will ruin battery connections. BUT, true or not, I believe soon there will be a new GBN27 option and some Nitro Nectar's with GNB27...I still prefer the BT2.0 for size and ease of use, but I totally get why nobody has joined BFPV on that train. A GNB27 Acrobee with a new NNectar 1s and 2s will BE SOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD!!!

@@ProjectMockingbird oh, I had not heard about solid pin damaging battery connectors. Interesting information. So are you saying there will be a new GNB27 connector or new to NBD? I found soldering the bt2.0 so frustrating and with only one good battery with it on the market opted to stop transitioning my batteries to BT2.0.
