How would you compare this to the BetaFPV Meteor 65? I'm leaning towards the Mobula6 and converting to BT2.0 connectors with 350mah batteries. Thanks for all your reviews!

@FredGlover This is lighter, higher performing and has a better camera. Downside is this board is very new and I always worry about long term use. I have about 100 flights and it has been very solid. But that is only one. I have requested 4 more boards to get a larger sample.

I bought a few of these, thinking I would need spares, a little over a year ago. I've been flying the same one the entire time with minimal frame damage and I've changed one prop. I fly it inside and outside. I've purposely taken it out in the wind and it still flies like a champ. I have a whole bunch of tiny whoops but the Mobula 6 is the one I grab just to go out and play. It's the best.

You crack me up Nick. Sure...like you, I enjoy the pod-style flying too where everything is whizzing past at light speed. The difference though is that I can keep that up for about 2.5 seconds before I've dramatically crashed into something frightfully hard, well you can keep up that kind of flying indefinitely (or dang close!) LOL

Hi Nick Great video and review of the Happymodel Mobula 6, WOW that looked great, I am always amazed at how you fly through your house. When we put my parents house up for sale I would go down and fly around but the house was empty, and I would have broken everything in your house. But Im definitely getting one. Look up the FPV Frequency Chart, and find the channel farthest the wifi. Will help a lot without turning it off entirely.

@hilo4321 this is also true. I don't often suggest it as I can't verify what commenters might be doing, so if its off we both should be sure. It isn't always wifi but its something that can be at play.

@@hilo4321 your can also force the channel that your router runs. Might cause compatibility issues with devices on your network. If the wifi is using just one channel and you live in a city type area (with other wifi) atleast you know how to avoid your wifi

Just got mine yesterday wow it's the best 1s whoop I've flown to date. Loving it. I upgraded to BF 4.1.1 legacy with the JESC 48khz FW and it's so so smooth on default settings. I have a 6 port parallel charger and can say the last couple of days it's been getting a hell of a workout.

I put the Happymodel 0802 19,000 kv motors with the same Gemfan 3 blades on my Uruav UR65. I am very happy with the combo. 4 minute flights! Great job Nick!

But when you fly for that long, you have to fly to 3.2 V, but that is damaging the batteries pretty hard or not? I thought you should only fly to 3.5 V so they dont get damaged.

I was the same. Back in the day I got an inductrix and it just wasn't fun. I then bowed out of micros until a couple of days ago when I bought a Mobula 6 based off watching Nick fly this one. You won't be disappointed. Get the 25000kv and it legitimately shreds. I've been flying it outside at my apartment and it's a blast.

The charger does not do storage. I am not aware of any 1s charger that does storage charging.

Thanks again for another great review Nick. Those battery spars are always breaking on the Happymodel 65 frame! I love the innovation here. The only thing for me is I wish they offered 22000kv 0802 option as well as a middle road, that might be OK with 300mah but still give a little more than 19000 does

The version I am flying is the 22k version. Maybe you were meaning a different kv, they have 22k and 19k.

The outside issue is really about weight and wind....with very little weight its hard to battle much wind. Some locations might not have wind, I have not visited those locations. IMHO we need a whoop for indoor and something without whoops or prop guards for outdoor.

Sorry for the noob question but the ESCs are rated for 5amp 6 burst but in your osd your always over that. Is that a overall amps then u have to divide by 4 to get the per esc. Thanks and love the channel. U should do audio books lol

Seems like a good upgrade from the UR65 series. I probably won't upgrade until something dies on my US65 because I still can't fly that full stick indoors, but that weight is just phenominal. Great review, your skills really show what's possibly with that little powerhouse.

Just bought a mobula6 and....... It came with a 4 point canopy! Had to check online as I manage to pick up some interesting stuff qc misses, and it looks like the mob 6 now shios with a 4 point canopy. 😜👍

I was running 40mm gemfan tri blades on my 1s 75mm whoop. 802 19,000kv motors and it flies similar to the mob 6. That is until I killed my spi reciever for the 3rd time

Nick Burns yes indeed. My current favourite (and possibly fastest) indoor build is a 1s build with 40mm props. Crazybee f3 board and tiny whoop 19000kv 0603 motors.

I was going to get a Meteor 65 but when I saw this that changed :) There is one on order for me now, cant wait :D I am also looking to be going over to the new BT2.0 battery connectors as the couple I tried seem much better than the PH2.0.

You were definitely going faster than normal, Thats the 1st thing I noticed before you said anything. Its so amazing how far theyve come in the 2 years Ive been flying fpv. My 1st brushed whoop hovered at just under 50 percent, I still have it, and it weighs 30.9 grams without a battery, lol with everything that light I think Ill get one to experiment with a tiny toothpick frame. Is it a regular size whoop fc? With a 16X16 AIO fc I bet I could make a tiny one. (actual toothpicks for a frame,lol)

Thinking only about 50 yards outside? I realize it is intended for indoors, but my house is tiny! lol I still think this is a great deal for any indoor flyer, but I'm interested in a good whoop that has a bit more weight and range. I'm always impressed with your piloting skills...great video!

In the 1s 65mm format it would be the mobula 6 for racing or the newbeedrone acrobee for more freestyle of flight.

Thanks for the video and lots of interesting information! Nice to see that the new Runcam Nano 3 is performing very well - considering the size and weight (and comparing with the video posted earlier by Happymodel). The fully integrated F4 FC is a very interesting move too. However, my feeling is that in terms of weight it is not the best option. The new BetaFPV F4 FC + external VTX would enable to be lighter (board + wires + ph2 plug is at around 3.3g according to Mr Shutterbug, but would probably try the BT2 connector). Only downside of this board is the missing current sensor (nice to have). Also, I would prefer the new BetaFPV frame over the old design. Just my two cents for some tuning. One more thing, I guess I would switch the canopy too ;-)

I can't validate mr shutterbugs findings. On its face I can't imagine separate components would weight less than all the components on one board. Of course one pcb can be thicker than the other. The item I see not included in the weight is the vtx. The meteor65 is 2+ grams heavier than the mob6 10%+ weight savings. I did order a number of bt2.0 connectors and more batteries to convert. I too am interested in the change with bt2. Also some additional information on firmware tuning etc, but that isn't my information to share. :(

@@NickBurnsFPV Yes, I am also wondering why meteor is 2 grams heavier in total. What would you estimate for a vtx? If it is 1.5 grams, then FC + VTX for mobula and meteora is still roughly the same. Camera + mount might be the reason for the weight difference.

@@kolibrif8242 The smallest lightest vtx I have had weighed almost three grams, but that is with a normal antenna and a length of wire we wouldn't need much of. Of course some of the bit have to be included on the AIO board, but maybe a gram or slightly more weight savings. I think the frame weight might be more on the meteor as well, maybe .75 grams and then the camera mount.

awesome video! great info, efficient delivery of detail suggestions and insight! and excellent piloting skills! Thank you for the video. I noticed you max out around 60 or 70% throttle even when pushing to your limits indoors. I'm wondering if a throttle cap at 70 or 80% is a good idea for you, I know for me I would certainly try it. I'm so sad this isn't available in DSMX !!!! Any recommendation for DSMX bnf ? currently sniffing around betafpv meteor65 or 75x. Thanks! Subbed!

Thank you. I tried the throttle cap once on an previous whoop quad, I didn't like the feel, its has though my fingers are expecting throttle points and with a throttle cap the point isn't there. I flew horribly. We can add a dsmx receiver to this one. The other other new bnf whoop I can think of is the meteor65 from betafpv. Of course last year was the 2s whoop year with the mobula 7 and tinyhawk s....etc.

@@NickBurnsFPV for sure changing throttle response is a big adjustment in feel. it takes me 10 or 20 batteries to fully adjust. And some people prefer not to use the top end of their throttle stick because it can be hard to physically reach with their fingers. Personally i can reach the full range so i prefer the physical higher resolution. Maybe i'll look into adding dsmx to the mobula6, but that will likely put me back at the same weight of the 22g meteor6, and i was hoping to buy bnf as building is my lease favorite part! (yes even though it's just a rx install ) hmm... decisions. thanks again for the great content! watched a few of your other videos and you have an awesome channel ! keep it up this is a great resource for the community!!! I'll be passing along links to your videos!

Nick: I really enjoyed the video as always. I ordered one in It came yesterday. did the bind & set up and took it for 3 easy flights, it worked great!! No crashes All Good. Came home tonight and thought I would fly it some more. Started the transmitter and plugged in a battery. POOF the Blue smoke came out. !!!! Sent a note to Bang Good asking for a new quad or a main board. We will see if they make me HAPPY. I will share the outcome with you guys on this. Ben Herr

@@benherr2736 Banggood can be slow. Sometimes they respond reasonable well, other times they need multiple contacts. Stateside haven't seen anything in stock. I recently ordered from snhobbies.com in canada. Shipping was about 4 days, they are an active member of the fpv community. Might try them or keep checking places like Racedayquads.com

Best means expensive generally. I would start with used equipment. Get some fatshark hdo goggles for cheap and an frsky x lite...not the current year model the older model, or buy a jumper t16 radio. Then add a charger, for 1s I use the one at the end of the video. Do you research on the equipment sellers...for sure.

Will the 25000kv variant provide much more punch for light freestyle flying or should I stick with the 19000kv for more flight time? Also have you flashed JESC on your mob 6 25000kv? Has it increased your flight time? Thanks again nick for another great review!!

Higher kv will have more top end, but less on the bottom end. I have a 65mm like the mobula 6 with jesc, it does increase flight time.
