Lol, I think I'm on my 9th run of that show. One run, I was kit/trash bashing while listening to the audio books, and when I would take breaks and/or eat, I'd watch the show. I actually like the show better save for one major detail that I won't mention because of spoilers. What a GREAT universe The Expanse is. I REALLY wish they'd finish the last 3 books as sodes, only 6 seasons, but 9 books.
It's a crime they cut this series short. It really is. This show is the definition of sci-fi dome right. And we'll never see the end of the arc they started in the last season =(
@@ecksearoh6283 it was. They introduced a whole new storyline with a new villain in the last season and just went "oh well that's it I guess". It's to date one of the most frustrating endings to a series I've seen. And they wrote it like that knowing they couldn't follow it up.
@@SyntheticFuture they wrote it like that not to leave even more loose ends, and knowing that it wasn't utterly impossible that at some point they will follow up
They went into S6 with the full knowledge it was the last season they were making for a while. The Laconia storyline was meant to be a dangling thread left over for if they get to make a movie trilogy or something further down the line.
If you watch Ty and That Guy, they've had Naren on several times, and you can tell that the chance of the Expanse coming back in not zero. I think they are waiting for a bunch of factors to line back up.
I was lucky enough to pick up Marco's vac-suit in the last auction, and while it certainly ended up costing me an arm and a leg, it looks absolutely fantantastic in-person. It's become such a conversation starter whenever anyone comes to my house now. And it certainly makes me smile now whenever I rewatch the show and see the suit on screen lol. Really can't say enough about how amazing of a job the props department did on this show. The level of detail on the suit and every other prop is simply amazing.
@Prizrak-hv6qk Nah, I didn't unfortunately. They made the gun a separate listing. I did bid on it, but it ended up going way higher than my bid. Also the listing for Marco's gun ended before the Marco suit bidding did, so I didn't know I was going to get the suit by the time the bidding for the gun ended. I may have been more aggressive to try and win the gun, if I knew (although my wallet is happy that I didn't lol). Eventually, I do want to 3D print the gun to put in the holster.
I just finished watching The Expanse for the first time yesterday and immediately binged all the videos on it on this channel!! Such good timing with this video (also The Expanse was amazing and I am already watching it a second time)
Glad the show is not forgotten. I still have a thermo cup with MCRN logo laser cut, and an MCRN sticker on my car's rear window. No hope that anyone besides my friends recognize the reference, but very proud to have it.
It was the natural ending from the books. There's a significant time jump that would require almost an entire new cast and aging of existing actors if they make a cameo. It was fine.
@@Cosmodjinn Yes, but they wanted to spend twice as many episodes telling that part of the story and Amazon wouldn't pay for it. (A show ending doesn't sell Prime subs, after all.) Ty talked about it on the pod a couple years ago.
Of course it is Marco's suit that starts to act up and also tries to steal the spotlight when they're showing Draper's suit (by blinking the helmet light). It's always like that with Marco Inaros, isn't it. ;)
Truth be told, I would have watched it anyway, but I fully expected this was going to be a re-up from four years ago. Add: My desire to do a custom suit build has increased substantially. There's so much reused pieces from common gear and customized that it'd be Super fun to do your own while still lore/universe accurate.
I re-watch sci-fi shows all the time but the Expanse was only the second one where I instantly started over as soon as I finished the last episode. There's just so much lore, nuance and detail that you miss at first, in addition to all the usual stuff that you can savor. The first such show for me was Babylon 5 back in the 90s. These two are my favorite shows. This video is painful to watch. The costumes are amazing but they REALLY should be still used for filming more Expanse! :( Heh... I just noticed that I'm typing this while wearing a Razorback t-shirt. :)
Let,s not forget Stargate SG1 TV series in the late 90,s which tons of people including myself we,re into which ran for almost 15seasons and the only other TV that ran for that long was Supernatural
Hi Adam! I recently got into Kit/trash bashing after buying some AMAZING bluetooth speakers from a Co GRAVASTAR. Since then, the inspiration sparked a fire within me that shortly turned into a full on BLAZE! That is how I found my way to your youtube channel. I had NO IDEA all these years, being a huge fan of Myth Busters when the show was airing, that you were involved in making the Star Wars universe so realistic and believable. (I saw the original sode 4 in Mystic Seaport when I was 7) I've been a Sci-fi Junkie all my life and a musician/composer most of my life. As a Luthier, my first inspiration from the Gravastar speakers was to create a guitar that had similar aesthetics paired with functionality, forcing me to learn all about LED lighting/wiring, among other things. Now I'm delving into kit/trash bashing droids, I'm SUPER detail oriented and I was wondering if you have any suggestions for micro servos, where to get them, how to use them, and if you might consider doing a sode of TESTED regards this. I LOVE robots and LOVE creating my own. It might just be the MOST relaxing and therapeutic past time I've ever engaged in. I'm only on my third build, (one racer craft, 2 droids), and bringing them to life with light is one thing. Having them move remotely would be a whole different level of wonder and amazement. Thank you for your time. Kind regards, MetroidMania P.S. I have a deep, new found respect for you and what you do after finding you here on TESTED. THANK YOU!
Went from happy to sad a few times watching this. I read a while ago Apple may be continuing with the series. Would we rather see a continuation of the series or origin series that focus specifically on the characters?
Speaking to the show being off air I'm wondering if they might hit us with another 3 seasons 10-20 years from now since book 7 has a 30 year time jump. That way you could bring in the cast as age-appropriate.
I'm curious, where do I, as a massive fan of the books (read them all seven times now) who hates every single change made to the show, and generally doesn't enjoy the show at all, fit into that dichotomy?
@@peterfranklin6021 I'll put you on the list of people who nees to do a better job undestanding how difficult it is to adapt a book to the screen and why decisions to change things are made. And you can begin your journey by listening to the Ty and That Guy podcast where many of these creative decisions are explained.
Watched the Expense 3 times and am now reading the final pages of the last book. Not much of reader, but I ripped through these books. I really hope the old cast will return for those final chapters (-Alex😢).
Absolutely awesome suits! But for some reason, selling the props makes the ending more final, they can't go back and greenlight the last two seasons. Bittersweet.
Interesting video, Adam. But I'm biting at the bit for your video on the Star Trek Tricorder by the Wand Company that I understand you're about to release soon(?)
Never watched that show. Might check it out. but I can guarantee that a lot of those suits was bought on Amazon. I've seen the exact tactical vest on the orange one and the gloves from all of them. Must have had a pretty low budget for those costumes.
DO I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SPOILERS?? 😅 Now that I FINALLY have real internet out here in rural TN, I'm able to watch streaming content and *_finally_* catch up on _The Expanse,_ after Amazon picked it up. I've seen everything *up to* when SyFy canceled it _(end of S3 I think?),_ and I'm only on S2E6 right now on my rewatch. Thanks 😊
Sci Fi shows and movies always put lights inside spacesuit helmets. But in reality that would stop you from being able to see through the glass clearly in dark environments like eh, Space.
Anyone happen to know what Drapper's MCRN Power Armor sold for? I imagine _a metric truck ton!_ But I'm curious just HOW unobtainable it would've been for me... lmao
Never seen the expanse, has it finished? I prefer watching them after they finish so I don't have to suffer the kind of creeping death that 'Lost' had! On a side note, she looks remarkably like Kirsten Dunst, or is it just me?
It's finished. Tho for one of the character the story goes pretty off the canon of the books, partly due to sexual misconduct allegations and related internal 3rd party investigations and the subsequence sacking.
I beg you - for the love of all things cosplay - please film these amazing access videos higher than 1080p. You're a fellow cosplayer: You've had the same problem seeing details of things you've tried to re-create just from frame grabs. Your iPhone can do 4k these days. Please!
Hey @tested - I love everything about your channel and content - and the Expanse - but I can't watch this handheld stuff. All the unstabilized motion is just too much. I guess I wouldn't make a good Belter.
it's easy to say silly things when people point a camera at you, so she is a little off, however I think you might need to type UN peacekeeper into google
Stop saying "very unique". There are not graduations of uniqueness, either something is unique or it's similar to something else. In fact just stop saying "unique" clearly you don't understand the word.
