it means so much that he always asks before approaching the works. as an artist it is so frustrating when people just start handling things that they know nothing about. a painting could be wet, or easily smudged, or delicate. so many times people just focus n wanting to sate their own curiosity. and they give the artist a heart attack.

Howe's life? Not gonna lie, it seems like Norm is one of those people. Maybe he asks about stuff off camera or something, but every time he does a video in Adam's shop it seems like he just starts putting his hands all over stuff. I don't dislike Norm or anything, but sometimes he rubs me the wrong way with how much he starts touching things when he has no clue what they do.

I'm in art school and one of my teachers ALWAYS for some reason rubs my drawings. Every time it happens I just stand there screaming internally.

Adam is so good about asking permission, AND good about asking about inspirations. People commenting here should ask themselves, "Would Adam Savage say what I'm about to write?", and RU-vid would be a nicer place.

Drew Dawkins he probably doesn't have enough time. This is located in Boston, so he can't just take a week from his super busy schedule in San Fran. Would be epic though

A friend of mine who has an art gallery started selling Skunk's robots 4 or 5 years ago. My family got me Kyria, one of the early robots, for Christmas in 2013. She hangs out on my work desk. skunkadelia.com/works/robots/castillo-class-astrobots/kyria/

Didn’t care about anything but those robots. Absolutely beautiful. Today after watching this I experimented with making one of these. It was very hard. I rewatched this and I see the level of detail; it’s amazing. I plan to keep trying and get better.

I really love looking at these projects. You should do a TV show, going around the world looking at maker spaces... explaining the historic makers like the old atomiton makers and such. It's most interesting to see the verity of making options. Lost arts that were abandoned by civilization do to the missassumption that it was to far a concept to even approach. Thanks Adam and all the guys at tested for giving something so educational and beautiful an entertaining and instructional stage to view it on.

I am LOVING these maker space tour videos! The stuff these people build, and how they came about doing it is awesome. And the whole presentation and format of these videos are lovely. Keep up the good work :D I don't know if we have maker spaces in the UK, but it's encouraged me to find out. Loved the metal robots.

Gave a chuckle when I noted RadMax's tape-on-black-frame-glasses then was a little moved when I noted that RadMax has an incomplete arm. That showed how nerd power has come a ways. I would be interested to see if he's built any holding gadgets for welding or anything else. Very cool vid of an interesting place, indeed.

I happen to know them. They've built a couple custom arms including one with a hidden flask, and another to hold their tig rod while welding.

EDIT 6-20-17: Skunk got back and I am on the list for a camera as seen in the booth with a few weeks lead time! Muahahaha!!!! Hahaha, just went over to Skunk's website to look at all his amazing robots, it started having issues during my visit, likely due to all the new traffic. Something tells me the Tested bomb has gone off, glad I got my e-mail in! He has some incredible robots!

Cool! Several of my friends have studios there! Alas, it's too stimulating for me to work there because of the fluorescent lights & noise. Which is a shame because Davis Square (in Somerville) is only 20 min. away. Are you still in the area (June 24,2017)?
