Adding a sun rise to my shop doors.

The shop front renovation is creeping along, just call me Festus. In this video I show how I used all of the old cypress siding to create a sunrise pattern to the face of the sliding shop doors. I had to cover the plywood with something, might as well make it interesting.

Another great looking project brought to us by the man with an endless supply of wood. Lol Looks great Barry!

Thanks Dave! I do have an inheritance issue, causing the boys to argue. Not a good thing. The older claiming it will take at least two thirty yard dumpsters to get rid of all my wooden treasures. The younger insisting one will be enough. Hate to see them disagreeing so I am on a mission to use it all up. That’s a tall order!

'Unlike the young people, all my tools have tails.' Cut to next scene, using a cordless drill. 😆 I hear what you are saying. I am 38 and have built my tool collection up over the last 20 years. Most of my tools are cordless, though many are corded. When I started building my collection I bought corded or pneumatic tools for the high draw tools like circular saws, sawz all, portaband, burr motor, grinders, etc. The cordless stuff just didnt have the power or battery life to keep up. I would love the convenience of the cordless stuff for these types of tools since the technology has gotten so much better, but I'm WAY too cheap to replace tools that work good for a minor convenience. I just got done building a nice air compressor for the shop. Quincy 325, 5hp motor, 80 gallon tank. Chugs along making 17 CFM at 175 psi quiet as can be. You can stand beside it and have a conversation. The whole time I was assembling it, I was thinking 'I should just convert over to cordless tools and ditch the air tools.' I keep telling myself the older technology is better.

Benjamin I don’t know anyone who regrets having a good air compressor. When I was assembling the foundry equipment I picked up an almost new 5hp scroll type air compressor. It was a work of art. I almost cried when I finally ran the 3 phase power and hooked it up. Not only is it loud, it is loud at an uncomfortable high pitch. Unfortunately I am sure it will last the rest of my life. I am jealous of your lack of decibels. Barry

That looks really good, lot of detail there. All my tools have tails and the first tool in his hand is a cordless drill--lol. The nerves in our back go too all different parts of the body, is yours around L5? I see you and I both have the same painter in the house--lol. You take care and looking forward to your next video.

So much for my credibility. Ok, so I lied. I have a 20v Dewalt set, drill, grinder, impact. The drill has been commandeered by my wife to mix her plasters. The grinder works ok but sucks down the battery pretty fast and the impact works well when you can get the bit tips out of the chuck. I guess my sons felt sorry for me and got me the Makita for Christmas. A way better tool than the Dewalt. Anyway, a little bit of video editing would not have hurt. Thanks for watching Barry
