Majority of people don’t know Singapore has a history way back to 1299 including some of the Singaporean, during 1299 to 1398 there’s already an nation kerajaan singspura at Singapore rules by 5 generation of sultan Which is a thousand years from now. Even most Singaporean know only our model history from 1813 to date.
@@NewtoSingapore yes therefore lots of foreign media when introducing Singapore always said LKY build Singapore from a finishing village 😂 which they have no idea of the past history before Singapore independence. The most they know is during British colonies from 1813.
When my brother was in US thirty over years ago, little girls asked him where he was from. When he told them Singapore, the girls started laughing. I think the word must have sounded quite comical to native English speakers
@@NewtoSingapore Just saw this. Let's see: 1. Singapore is not part of China but its political and economic system are very similar. 2. Singapore has an authoritarian regime, though it attempts to make it seems it isn't - just not challenge the regime or exercise civil and political rights, that would do. 3. Singapore used to be cleaner - nowadays with the crazy influx of cheap labors, even washroom at MBS are dirty. 4. And of course, Singapore is quite boring - I always go to the usual places of MBS, Vivocity, and the airport - there isn't much places to go. Besides, way too hot outside.
