@@OldManEnglish666 so she admits she gave up on her own kid, and that they were stuck in their ways so could change? Seems a weird thing to say to a kid. Maybe its meant to explain the relationship so her kid could underdstand, but not as a personal message about the kid.

@@gregkirk1842 Dedicated to him doesn't mean every line is about him - I read that line as being about the relationship with the Father, and why she felt they had to break up. Press statement says the break up is amicable, and they are both going to be involved in parenting, but that he will continue to live with his Father as that is the environment he has grown up in - but I can't exactly say I know what is going in their relationship outside of what has been publicly said.

@@gregkirk1842 no, shes very ACTIVE in her sons life, but he lives with his father due to adele constantly having to travel and she didnt want him to be exposed to the press and his identity shown. the song is a letter to her son explaining why she divorced his father as he started asking questions. her whole new album is about her divorce, getting through and finally over the pain and raising her child in an amicable way with his father

It’s for her son. During the divorce her son took it hard. She was in a place where she wasn’t mentally there for her son. She hopes he will understand later in life. Beautifully done.

How much have we missed Adele? She is one of the most effortlessly brilliant singers anywhere. And the emotion she expresses... Whew! If you get a chance, watch the video for "Hello" & you'll see that this video sort of carries on from that one & yes this song is about her reflecting on her marriage, the birth of her son, & her divorce all during her crazy being a star days before she took this last break! I think she's telling everyone-herself, her fans, her loved ones-that she knows she may not have done things right before but she's in a different place now, so go easy on her as she gets her footing. We can all relate to that for sure! Great reaction!

I saw an interview she just did on BBC and she said everyone thinks it is to a man. @/easyonme is not about her ex-husband. It is actually for her son, explaining to him why she had to give up and went with a divorce. She simply asking him to be easy on her with her decision for her own happiness despite the consequences her son may come around. It explains well in the 2nd verse. In 2nd verse, she says "You can't deny how hard I've tried. I changed who I was to put you both first But now I give up"

The 1st "non choice" that she HAD to choose was stopping singing whilst her son was an infant - the visuals were the sheets of sheet music blowing out and away. The 2nd "non choice" that she HAD to choose was the divorce - the visuals showed her sitting (whilst obviously singing) in a chair, the camera lingers on her hand - minus her wedding ring. So clever 👏👏👏👏👏 She can write and sing so incredibly beautifully. What a star 🌟

Dude...she took time off for her husband and baby... so respected...her career was hot...yet she put her marriage and baby first...for years. They have a beautiful co-parenting relationship now, I understand. I can understand her being torn...no mother wants things to not work. We beat ourselves up. Feel like failures... Rolling in the Deep, from her debut album 19, us about building a house (relationship). Hello from her album 25 shows her moving into the house and trying to make it a home but it's not working (metaphor for relationships/marriage). This song shows her moving out of the house, signifying the end of what she tried to do for all these years and asking for her son to go easy on her for divorcing his dad. This entire album is dedicated to her son to explain why she left his dad, why she divorced him, why she upturned her son's entire world to purpose her own happiness.

#EasyOnMe is NOT about her ex-husband. It is actually for her son,explaining him why she had to give up and went with a divorce. I said the same thing regarding take me to church. The cleverness of how it was written. It can be applied across the population. The wording vs the video made it more apparent as well. Most just focus on the obvious. And that’s fine, because it probably is hitting close to home in that way. But that doesn’t mean another can’t apply the lyrics to their “problems”. There’s a reason songs blow up and become popular. They are easily adapted to a vast, diverse audience. You get your “hits” or “classics”. Edit: also. It matters not if the song was written that way or it was accidentally done. Does not matter. Just the result.

i can relate in the same way years ago at her same age, but you hit it on the nose as it could be relevant to any situation/circumstances. I have almost two decades on her of life experience and boy the journey is extremely unpredictable. Some by choice and some by this thing called life! I'm glad you picked up on the lyrics as well as her vocals. I've watched other reactions and some focus on her vocals only because it is huge and extraordinary. Yet she didn't just come back for vocals...she came back with a message! Awesome reaction!

I think there are many ways to interpret this beautiful song….it seemed to speak to me also. I was a single mom that was physically abused by my husband who had PTS….I divorced him but struggled to put food on the table. Two daughters, I was 25. Working taking care of them kept me busy. No time for for reflection. Now retired I realized I never really knew what job, etc I would have choose. I needed to stay put because these kids depended on me. Now my adult children become impatient with me because of whatever reason…be easy on me because ….

In hello ( another Adele song, they used the same house and she was pulling the dust sheets down and moving in ( as she was with her ex and her son) and there was a phone call at the start and she lost signal.. ( it was also black and white) so this video is carried on from that but she’s moving out ( as they are divorced) hence the suitcase, the music notes flying out the car is her letting go, hence the change to colour as she’s happier.

Ha. Not just an English accent, a cockney one. 😀 By the way, this is literally the same house she ARRIVED at in a previous video, "Hello". Go watch it. Fun fact. If you take a computer and analyze this, technically she's pitchy. Technically. It's why computers shouldn't be in charge of music. It's proof nobody autotuned this. It's why this sounds fresh and authentic. Over years I believe our brains have become conditioned to autotune to the extent that natural singing sound revelatory. The key is she's in control of the notes. Truly pitchy people on singing shows aren't. So she sings parts a little sharp for effect, in key controlled places. That's also, I believe, a real piano rather than an electronic keyboard and that's an organic sound people love too. The variance in volume based on how hard a player hits a key. Audiences crave this kind of authenticity. It's why this song exploded.

It's funny that you mentioned how it could be applicable to many different things for different people because I know she wrote this about her divorce BUT... I mentioned to my daughter that it also sounds like she could have been singing about her music career since she started so young and became famous so quickly? 😏 I burst into tears before I even heard it when I read the description for why she made the album, which was to explain to her son when he's older, why she chose to implode his world in the pursuit of happiness! 😭😭😭😭 BTW I'm new to your channel and IDK if u do this but my daughter sings (there's a couple of new videos on my channel) and I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and any tips x thanks! 🤗 xxxx _ps I'm working towards getting my daughter into the Brit school for performing arts which is where Adele, Leona Lewis, Jessie j and Amy Winehouse went! 🤞
