Update guys and sis. Remember I said I will be 36 and everything you stated, I identified with. Well thanks to your recommendation I went ahead and paid the fee to see if I really had it or did I just assume well…… just as suspected I am 100% inattentive type. I fill 100 times better knowing I have a neurodivergent and it’s not just me. Today is day 1 of my journey. ❤ thanks for making this video it inspired me to get evaluated.

I’m finding myself in a similar mental state I was in last year (while I was still in grad school). After finally getting an adhd evaluation the counselor said I didn’t have adhd but anxiety. Fast forward to almost a year later and now I’m unmotivated (difficult getting out of bed before 10am), struggle with prioritizing my work, easily overwhelmed, anxious everyday, and I have moments where I feel extremely positive and hopeful (which stirs up a bunch of ideas and paths I can take in my early career) and then I crash into a self-critical/anxious/hopeless state. As a kid I had similar symptoms to you. I was the good student who excelled in her classes but it was always tough to focus on class (I would just write stories in class or do the homework) and study. I’m starting to think about getting another evaluation from someone else but it was difficult the last time and a lot practices don’t take insurance anymore 😩

Great video! I'm a 42, almost 43 yr old Mom with a toddler. Looking back on my life now it's clear I struggled with ADHD for example by masking and social interactions. I even had a son in my teens who himself was diagnosed with ADHD at school-age. It took me having a toddler and a new set of life challenges ( being older/peri-menapausal unhealthy relationship, having a high energy small child) to realize I in fact may have ADHD! Thank you for putting out relatable information and sharing your story❤

This is a great video! I've never been diagnosed but it was suggested to me from a Psychologist that I may have ADHD because I kept fiditging (sp?) lol during our meeting. I've done my research as well. Not quite as in depth as you have. It's just something I dealt with all my life. I too would wait to the last minute to complete school projects. Now I know why! I'm stil a procrastinator. My brain never stops. I have trouble geting and staying asleep. I lose focus all of the time. I still fidget and I nibble on my cuticles A LOT! I am a business owner as well and at times lack motivation to do anything with my business. I refered to it as being a bipolar business owner. One day I'm super excited about an idea but if after I make it and it doesn't resemble what I pictured in my head, I feel defeated and why am I doing this stuff anyways! I can't concentrate long enough to do the marketing that I seriously need to do if I want my business to grow. Sometimes I think that I know my business will take off and I'm scared of that happening. I'm a perfectionist, not a heavy duty one, but if my name is on something, it HAS to be right. I've changed the name of my business 3 times over the past several years. I can't just sit and watch a show or a movie on TV. I always have my iPad with me and I'm playing games while listening to the show. I now listen to one of my fav shows at night to help me go to sleep. I use to use Calm, but I got bored with it LOL!! So yes, I can totally relate to you on this subject. I'd like to do meditation but I keep putting it off. Tomorrow I'll start, and tomorrow comes and I repeat that saying each and every day. I thought about using a planner to keep me organized, help me to focus on one or two particular projects bs jumping around to one project idea to another idea. I think I will look into the supplements you informed us about. Thank you for doing this video, and I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel one day when I was tying to find video's on motivation. True Story!! LOL Before I end this long a## comment, I do do things that make me happy every day, like listening to music, singing, dancing etc. Oh one more thing, I cannot stand quietness in my home, I alsays have a show playing on my desktop that I can listen to while I work. Sometimes I here something interesting and now I'm focused on that. Anyway...the struggle is real! Thanks again! Bye!

@Brinya same girl. Im a black woman. I just got diagnosed at 29 1/2. I just turned 30. Growing up in the household I did (chaotic in a bad way) chaotic in a good way like you said. More organized compared to my mom and younger sister. But living with other people who are not my family members they noticed a lot about and were not afraid to tell me😢. Ouch.

Omg I see you Alexa, I can totally relate. I felt that way when I moved out. One thing that has really helped this year has been to actively seek out other neurodivergent people, so I can can have more real open conversations about the day-to-day challenges I face without feeling as judged. Having ADHD as a black woman can feel pretty isolating sometimes. We’re better together. Thanks for watching and being here ❤️

Hi honey! I love your videos so much and I’ve only watched 3 but I’m watching them all twice. This one is amazing and so ADHD friendly, I think this why I’m drawn to them. I self diagnosed and now at 53yo I’m wanting to do Life Coaching and I’m asking myself “Is this something I’m going to start and keep having to start?” Or can I actually keep up and keep a steady pace. While listening I’m picking up on ques of my behaviors, I make schedule after schedule and never keep any of them…I’m very creative and do well on small projects but big projects I avoid because if I start it I want to finish it and I won’t leave the project until complete. I have a motto if you start it you finish it, but when it can to the scheduling… I finish the schedule but never follow it. I can’t tolerate noise while concentrating, I used to interrupt ppl so badly and beat myself up about and ask why I can’t control myself…and the answer was because I would forget my thoughts right after they pop up so if I didn’t spit it out I’d lose some good points. I beat myself up and said “You are rude, annoying, and think you know so much and are more important than anyone else” so I convinced myself that nothing I can say is more important than respecting others and listening more than talking. I then had times where I would have diarrhea at the mouth at the most inappropriate times and didn’t give ppl time to add to the conversation…and when I stopped talking….their eyes were like 👁️👁️ where did that come from?? So embarrassing. I am clean but like you I was messy even if everything had a place I would be to in my head to put things away then if company was coming it would take me 40mins to get to spotless because things just needed to be put away. I am very different I think so far out the box, and so far ahead of average normal ppl. Years later they come back and say “YOU SAID THAT YEARS AGO!” and of course I don’t remember. 😂. We have so many of the same symptoms, I have clothes laying on my bed at this moment. Finishing my degrees took 3x longer than normal due to test anxiety and taking so much longer to study due to dyslexia, comprehension and brain always thinking everywhere. Studying all night getting 2hrs sleep before clinicals. Seemed like the other students were studying hard too but I couldn’t get through my tests. I was quiet and to myself as a child too, family situation same…loud and free communication. My impulsiveness I just got under control at 52yo I would get online in the middle of the night and forget and have packages show up, severe impulse spending… now I have systems wait 24hrs, put it in a cart online but don’t buy it, move phone from reach at night and get rid of all credit cards. To only buy what’s needed… a reward had to come from my envelope system and $30 spree. I take supplements fish oil DHA, EPA and keep a very clean diet, paleo. No gluten, no sugar, no dairy…no fast food or processed. I’m a sensitive, Empath, nurse since 97. RN I’m trying to figure it out because doing more then one thing at time is getting so hard for me. I can’t be a nurse and start my business…nursing empties my battery 🪫 Thank you so much, I have to figure this out and finish strong.

Omg, soo much of what you shared I can relate to, thanks so much for sharing this. As you move forward in your journey I encourage you to try removing "can't" from your vocabulary. You absolutely CAN have a successful coaching business even with all the symptoms and while working as a Nurse, it may just be at a different pace from others and it may not look the same as a business owned by someone without ADHD. And that's totally OK, because in the end you'll have a life and business created that's 100% true to you and a beautiful story to share about how you made it happen. Keep going!! 💞 I'm here rooting for you and I'm so grateful to have you as a part of this community ✨❤️

@@brinyabain thank you! I usually don’t say “negatives” at all but at this point I am being honest with myself… I’m too old to blow smoke 💨 up my own butt 😂 yes, my mind stays on my business plan and research lots outside of work… once I get it mapped out I will get mentors involved to see how solid it is and if I have all the money overhead I will need for 18-24 months to build my success. Thanks again ♥️

I once lost my keys in my coat sleeve... I went crazy for probably 15 minutes at 6:30am looking for my keys one morning before work... I was already running late and i must have had my keys in my hand when i put my arm through the sleeve and let go of them at some point in between.. I didnt end up putting my coat all the way on though because i found them when i went to put my coat on for the second time when i realized i could use my husbands set of keys. Hi Nioki, thanks for sharing, I can imagine how nerve-wracking you must feel in this moment. Maybe you can try writing down the symptoms you've been having and how they're been affecting your day-to-day life, so that the words come easier when you bring it up and she can see how much it's bothering you. Or you can write a letter and give it to her to read! Sending hugs. You got this ❤xx
