Used the takumi 9 for few half’s and they were spot on. Tried a 20 miler in it recently and still feels great…tempted to try for the full marathon! Prob get these too
Top multi review as always Gents. Gunna stick with Sen 9 for now. for my speed work & technical 5k races. Tom you are keeping us eagerly awaiting for your Pro4 review !!!! Let’s do this ! Keep up the great work ! 👊🏼
Works well for 3000m. Agree with Nick that it is a great option for short races on less than ideal terrain. Similar to Puma DN Elite 2 for those events. Good value in sales (also like DN Elite 2).
Takumi Sen8 really has a much wider range due to the reduced weight. I've always wanted to try and race a half marathon in the shoe. I've done numerous longer workouts where I covered 17-18km, and NEVER thought to myself....boy, do I wish I had more cushioning. As long as you can hold your form to the half, once you lose form in this shoe I really feel the crashing in on the medial side due to those crazy cutouts.
is it narrower than v9? I tried 8 and 9 side by side, 8 was too small for my (quite volumous) feet, but the 9 fits just right and works really well for me.
Had to get them it in UK as it is not available here in US. I'm narrow fit so these shoes are fine. Have used them already in hill repeats and some speed runs-will use for 10k's pretty much and have not run longer than that in them. Lockdown is fine.
It will work for that, but i would not buy them for that. If you do threshold Training with lots of volume you should probably look into shoes with more chusion. I use the Adidas adizero Boston 12 for my threshold Training, just that i do it on the road
I’ve just picked up the Sen 9 in sales but after 2.5km the topside of my little toe blistered badly as it sits high with me previously breaking it (I think cus the upper is so rigid) are these more moveable cus apart from that my right foot really enjoyed the Sen 9
