Back in the day of the Aztec Indians, when a girl turned 15 she would be considered ready for marriage. This celebration of age turned to more of a celebratory event for a young girl turning into a woman. Originating in Mexico, quinceaneras are now celebrated and practiced all over the world but are in fact a MEXICAN TRADITION. 💯

I am Mexican-American and you haven't experienced a Quince until you experience a Mexican Quince. In Los Angeles I have attended a variety of Quince's from various Hispanic/Latino backgrounds. While all Quince's are done similar they are all done differently as well. Yet, this video did capture what we do share in common. The Hispanic/Latino/Chicano community are all about family and friends becoming family. This part is very true about our cultures for sure.

This made me tear up, i don't have what this family has, unity and love.. My family is toxic and distant, I'm only close to one cousin, Christmas's, New Years and Birthdays are so lonely it hurts. I wish i was so affectionate toward my family but i was raised in a family where we don't show emotion not even an "i love you" daily. We're Salvadoran and i've always wanted to have all of my relatives in one place to just bond and get to know them, sadly it's like i've never met the whole family and i don't think i ever will. One reason why is bc my mom is Christian and we can't party like most hispanic with drinks and music, my mom doesn't allow it, which is why i think that's why our family never visits for holidays. But at the same time, we are family why should it matter if we're christian? which is why i'm starting to resent the family members who don't visit anymore, i feel like i'm the only one thinking of them and wanting to see them when they probably don't even remember me and have way more fun with other families. Please ALWAYS say "I love you" to your loved ones, doesnt have to be family either, ALWAYS have gatherings so those happy memories keep growing and you can chat w them the next meeting, because some people don't have that.

It may be originated after a ceremony on the Mayan and Aztec times, cultures that are share between Mexico and Guatemala. The dresses, dance and etc of other things that we see now is because of the Influence of spaniel people and because of them that were the mayor conquerors in many Latin countries, those traditions were share with this other countries , where the parties are as big and as fun they want it to be or what the money allow them to be😊 at the end it’s correct to say is a Latin Tradition.

I have never been to a coming of age party in this style. Almost got invited when I was 15 years old but that end up falling through and I was not happy I wasn’t the only person invite in the whole thing but it’s been like 10+ years, I’ve seen two sweet 16 in my life and they haven’t even held a candle flame compared to this. I don’t know if this is just a tradition with my family. But I had a sweet eighth birthday. All my extended family came and I was in this orange gingham dress. Again, I don’t know if this is a thing unique to Bengali people or just my family so to an extent I sort of relate but I still want to go to one of these. Praying to God one day I’ll get to attend one of these they look like so much fun, and yes my trip to Paris France was fun because I substituted that for the high school drama that comes with it came with sweet 16s and 15 birthday party. But that still doesn’t mean I don’t want to experience this beautiful culture.
