As a young woman with peers pushing for ambition and careers, it can be scary to share the future I want, which is to be a wife and mom before any career. I felt pressured for so long to fit into the modern "empowered" mold. But, this was so empowering and encouraging. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom!

While I'm just a "man", I believe that a husband should physically, emotionally, and morally provide for his wife to care for their children. Being a Mom is not the same as being a slave, it is a service, but not slavery. The whole "empowerment" concept is a lie to deceive women that they are oppressed by caring for their family.
@bsb1975
@bsb1975 Год назад
@@backdoor5993 I think is mostly economic at this point. Everything's so expensive now that both parents have to work. But yes, I think the kids do better if Mom stays home with the kids, at least until the kids can go to school full time. My mother did that, as is my sister. The other issue is divorce. My mother did not work at all. When my parents split after the last kid was out of the house, Mom did not feel qualified to work anywhere. She was so self-conscious that she didn't even try to get a job. Fortunately, the settlement she received was enough to keep a roof over her head until she died, but the whole situation left her severely depressed. Sorry for going on so long, but this has bothered me for a long time. God bless you all.

I am said sister that had the 30+ hour labor that ended in an emergency c-section 😅 I just wanted to pipe in to say something that wasn’t said to me: if your labor doesn’t go the way you imagined and planned- it is okay! You are no less of a woman and a mother and that little miracle will love you no less. Be prepared for everything and remember the end goal- a healthy baby. 💕

I’m 21 with my wife of 3 years (23). We agreed for her to be a stay at home mom while I work. We have 2 young kids and we couldn’t be happier. Although with how expensive life is we try to get by with a single income. I work at a steel mill working swing shift so it can be hard but we like to keep it traditional. Just hope prices don’t keep rising like this. We can hardly get by anymore

I was a stay at home mom, sometimes I felt so out of place almost all the other moms worked and there was guilt, I had a wonderful husband who wanted me to do what I wanted, I wanted to be home they were mine to raise. I loved it. I had 6 kids 2 sets of twins 6 under 6 so I totally get it and yes it was quite the adventure, would not change a thing. I wish moms could get paid to stay home a raise their children, I think we would live in a much kinder world. What a life the two of you have had. Congratulations. I lost my husband of 49 years in October and miss him so much. You two are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

Crazy enough my wife and I decided that she would not be working to raise our child on the way in a few weeks. We felt the cost of daycare is too high and it would be much better for her to be spending the time with our child. A sacrifice for sure but well worth it. Hearing your story reaffirms our decision.

Lots of people don't understand that sacrifice is a necessity in raising future adults that can lead this world. Nothing more exiting than an adventure you can make for yourself with miracles made of your own blood and your forever partner.

I loved hearing about your adventures of becoming parents. I was only blessed with one, my son, 41 yrs and 6 mos ago. I was only 19 also when I had him. Life was tough as my husband, at the time, decided that he didn’t want to be a parent although he wouldn’t consider birth control. So needless to say, I did it as a single mom for years and would do it all over again. I made plenty of mistakes but did the best that I knew how. ( I didn’t have a good childhood). I’d also like to say that I praise the fathers that stay and become good daddy’s to their children.

Ahhhaaahaha, Deanna, every time you mentioned how fast you birthed your babies, I think I was muttering under my breath at the moment you would say, "there is probably a lot of women mad out there😅". Yes, I'm not sure you were making any friends!!😂 Loved hearing your stories. Your heart is amazing. I was a stay at home mom myself. I homeschooled my boys. We were on the poor side I would say, but we chose to raise our kids and not leave it to someone else. Both of us had working moms while growing up. It did not work out to be good. So we wanted to change that for our boys. My husband worked hard and kept a roof over our heads, our home warm, and food on the table. We had no riches. I couldn't go out and buy new clothes, or beautiful furnishings.... but we were so happy!

It's such a pleasure to listen to your story. I congratulate you very much and I'm happy for you that you can now sit and talk and enjoy the adventure you had with your kids❤ Our first one was born 9 weeks ago and I also wanted to have the most natural birth. I was curious of the natural way, how is it and how I handle it and what I would think during. From first contraction till birth it was 12h for me. And as painful as it was I was surprised how quickly the pain goes away after. My mother also did natural way for all 5 of us and I felt so loved that she did it for us. So the other reason for me was that I wanted to do the same for my kid and I felt that if I took painkillers I wouldn't have experienced the love that comes from the suffering. Thank you for sharing and I look forward for next video. I would be very interested in your discipline methods and if and how your older kids helped you with raising the youngest 😊 All the best from Slovakia ❤

I totally get you too, on the natural birth. I was in labour from Wednesday evening till Saturday late morning... No pain meds nothing. I could handle the pain. The exhaustion in the rest of my body was what was hard. But as long as I was in the tub, I could handle it. My man was an amazing help as well during labour. And I had prepped myself with a birth trainer (which is something I would advice any pregnant woman to do). Unfortunately the last couple of hours of my birth were traumatic due to the actions and attitude of the hospitals midwife.. She made me get out of the tub (which basically made me immobile cause my muscles were extremely tired at that point) I was begging for a C section because of her. Lost faith in my body because of her comments. When the gynecologist came in, she got on eye level with me, held my hand and LISTENED to me. She brought back my calm. She went out of the room to start prepping the C section and I kid you not, she walked out of the room and my body started pushing. Finally. Our daughter was born within 8 minutes from that. And my self confidence had returned, so I could finally stand up for myself and tell that midwife to let me decide where my legs were lol. Next time, I will go without meds again, and I will make sure that there won't be any people in the room with me that aren't helpful. Maybe hire a doula, cause you can't expect your man to handle all that for you either when he's also exhausted.

11:00 you wanted the full experience of giving birth in order to be fully aware of whatever might happen. I felt that too after my first who was delivered with a C-section. Everyone told me I was stupid to endure the pain but it turned out that there were complications and if I hadn't been fully aware my second would have been lacking oxygen for too long because my contractions just stopped in the middle of the labour. I had to push her out by sheer will. That saved her life.

About having natural births, you made the right choice. I am 63 now and how things were with my first child was a whole lot different than the second. I had my first son at 19 years old and it took 62 hours, the doctor wasn't there. The nurses gave me Demerol every 4 hours which would slow down the contractions, the last Demerol shot was 2 hours after a shot. I started pushing right after that shot and the nurse told me to stop because I wasn't going to have the baby yet, then my water burst and she went in panic mode to get the doctor in...when it was all over the doctor told me I had 14 stitches and in bad shape down there because of being so tiny my hips didn't spread far enough apart for the birth. 16 years later I go into labour with my second son, he was premature by about a month, it took 4 1/2 hours, the doctor had given me a 'whistle' and said 'whenever you have a contraction suck on this'. I don't know what the drug was but it wasn't strong like Demerol. and it didn't do much, I still felt the pain and was aware of everything going on. So you are right about going drug free because it can cause more problems and delay the birth because the baby is also getting the drug and not strong enough to fight his way out. BTW I am a small-town Canadian so we only had one doctor in our little hospital when my first was born and 3 doctors when the second one was born. Now our little hospital is a walk-in clinic and women are taken by ambulance over 200 miles away to have their babies. We don't have mid-wives in my province, there are provinces where it is legal but not here and that has to change.

The difference in quality, relationship, behavior, bonding w siblings in a stay at home environment is so much better than daycare. The value is incalculable. good job. Hi, I live in New Zealand the pressure to be at work is the same here, I had five babies three boys and two girls I was a stay at home Mum for 16years. My children are Adults now raising their own children I'm so proud of them and my grandchildren. To stay home and raise them myself was a choice ,but I'm so glad I did. My children are happy when they see what awesome caring good human beings their children are now that is more important to them than any other success. I'm so proud of them all.😊❤.My husband raised them with me of caurse but he also had to work.

I love this so much!! Thank you for sharing all of your birth stories, I loved to hear them. We have had our children at home and homeschool them and it's so encouraging to hear that even though you didn't do everything perfect they all came out ok and you have a good relationship. God is so good!! I really enjoyed this video!! Thank you!

You two are the best! Deanna, you are a better woman than ANY of these so-called career women could ever be. This country needs more parents like the two of you. A LOT more. Too many self absorbed, preoccupied, absent, or even worse, neglectful or abusive parents are the reason there are so many lost and broken kids and dysfunctional young adults out there, the reason our country is in such a deplorable state. Thank you both for having the courage to do it the right way.

This reminded me of what I believe is a quote from Confucius (paraphrased): “we naturally love what we see growing in our own home” and I’d like to think of his counter contemporary, Lou Tzu saying “we naturally love what reflects our own soul” that alone is an adventure; I’m glad you guys saw raising children as such 🙏

My husband and I have been married for five years and desperately want to have children but have not been able to. While my adventure is not the same as yours I am trying to keep thinking of my experiences as an adventure while placing my faith in the Lord. Anyway I want to thank you both for putting out good and interesting content. I love watching both channels and look forward to many more videos!

Hello to you both. I'm Simon from uk. And 54 this year and I have to say that i am in ore of both of you for the way you have just taught me a lesson that I didn't quite understand when it was needed but I guarantee you've just got through to a great deal of young family units that will make such a difference to them as parents and the children they may have or will have in future. Just by being honest and encouraging and sharing with everyone. Well, I've just picked my jaw up of the floor and had to comment. Mumma you have a new sub. You're a wonderful inspiring women. God bless you sir and lady. Kindest regards Simon from the white cliffs of Dover. ✌😎.

While I only birthed 3, raised 4 and my labor was considerably longer than yours ... Lol our stories are very similar. My husband said he could have been listening to me. I agree 100% that kids are a gift and I willingly stayed home with them and gave up material things to be able to be available 24/7 for my kids. Today they are well rounded, productive adults and have given me 10 grandkids! I enjoy your videos, keep them coming.

I think our biggest adventure was the day my bratlings found a horse trapped in the muddy cattle tank about 2 miles from our house. They were 8 & 10, out riding their bikes around. My Shelby comes home in a flat panic that this paint horse is drowning and we HAVE to go help. Devlin stayed with the horse. So I get the truck and ropes and chains, and I'm gonna try. Our cattle tanks are basically tiny spring fed mud puddles, maybe 6ft deep at best, 30ft across. But they are not lined, it's just nasty sticky clay MUDDD!! for about 5ft or so out from the water. Devlin is out in the water with this poor mare, keeping her head up and mostly calm (keep in mind, he's only 8yrs old). Long story short, we rigged a harness from the ropes and winched/dragged this mare outta belly deep muck. Got her home and they spent the next 3 days getting this poor girl clean, dry and fed. We had "Poor Baby" for another 5 years . She taught both the kids to ride, she was our saving grace when life took a sideways turn during their teen years, and when we finally had to let her go, the vet said she was at least 35 years old, there was nothing he could do for her, she taught the kids how death can be graceful and quiet, too. I thank God, even now, 5 years later, for the lessons that old mare was able to give us, and that my kids were able to save her and give her 5 more years of life.

One subject I would like you all to do is on a more recent journey or stage in life and that is when the child of yours leaves the house to go off to college or work. This is super tough stage and leaves many moms and dads with a sad empty space really. You as parents are happy to see them go off to start their life but what a shock if you spent a lot of your time with your kids over the years and then the move on out is a tough one to take at times.

As a man who never wanted kids but now has one and feels lucky. I wish I had access to your wisdom many years ago. It’s been a very rough few years of break ups, reunions, accidental pregnancy with severe depression on my part, even as far along as my son being 2 to 3 years old. But I’m starting to feel more of a man than I ever had the more I embrace fatherhood and responsibility. My only regret is I left it late and only had one child so my son will be an only child. Thank you for your incredibly kind and loving videos.
