As older women with grown children it's our job to help guide them during stressful times. I would take one weekend a month and keep my grandchild so the parents could just have time for just themselves. It helped everyone. Also just drop by with a meal they like so no one has to cook after a long day at work. Take the kids to the park and enjoy the laughter. My grandson is 23 now and he still remembers it today. I miss those days now because I can't go like I did then.

I am not a morning person , need my hours of sleep too, try to stay in self discipline though , re. relations i found out that chinese astrology is very accurate , that solves many relation difficulties , be as you are , do not fake who you are! Try to find out the element of the chinese birth year , Only then you will be able to be true to your own self ....never play somebody else flute.

A note to women on times when you can't shut your brain off and you need to process thoughts and emotions: if you politely ask the man in your life to listen, and express what you want from him, if anything, it will help to ameliorate any tension you may be feeling in terms of his response. Broadly speaking, my experience has been that women prefer to process thoughts and emotions by externalizing them, whereas men generally prefer to process thoughts and emotionally internally - especially if it's anger or shame or something that might be alarming for their wife to witness in a raw form. When women externalize, it can sometimes feel intrusive to a man, because he can't get a coherent thought of his own in edgewise, so to speak. When a man "doesn't listen" it might be because it isn't clear to him what you're wanting from him and doesn't see a clear connection between what you're saying and how he can be useful - if you just want him to a be witness for you getting something off your chest, and for you to feel like he's in your corner without him necessarily doing anything, tell him so. When a man "tunes you out" it may be because he is dealing with challenging thoughts and emotions of his own, and he may not have room on his plate for yours until he's cleared a little space in his heart and mind. If this dynamic is present in your marriage, be patient, and try to express a request clearly, if it applies.
@hamcheese9859
@hamcheese9859 Год назад
omg, this is so accurate and true for myself, as a woman I really do feel that way, sometimes I just want to express myself, and I notice my husband, or my brother, internalize a lot more, and it has been difficult for me to grasp that, but only now do I understand it better.

You certainly don’t look uncomfortable in front of the camera. I had a speech teacher, once tell me that a person appears only one eighth as nervous as they feel. You’re doing great. Being a Mom is the hardest job. But the most important one.

I have never had family support, or much support from my husband. I just got my first ever overnight break and our child is 6!!! If you are a grandma, make it your mission to support your daughter/daughter in law. Having to do everything always is incredibly draining 😓

Only breaks I ever got were due to hospitalizations. My oldest is almost 15. Well, no, I take that back. There was a no children allowed wedding we attended about 6 years ago. I hope someday if/when my children have children that I can be the mom/gramma they need.

My experience of being married for 50 years. I love my son, he is 44, and my husband was love of my life . I was 21, when we’ve got married. I am an introvert, and all my life I needed time for myself. It could be a walk in a park, reading a book, working in my small garden. Mommy/wife should not feel guilty to have 30 minutes to herself.

I am sorry some people chose to be negative, but I will keep it positive and say I did the same thing. We made the choice for me to be at home. So I admire a mom or wife that wants to stay home as her job! Second, you and Duane are a blessing to so many. With society like it is today, so many people do not have even a glimpse of what reality is! So keep on being you!

YESSSS Absolutely agree to this! Its not mentioned enough in my opinion. Most Mums do tlose their identity and then once the kids head off to school youre left realising.....what do i do? Who am i? I used to ride horses and farm before having my 2 kids and that all stopped in our situation. We have since moved from Australia to Canada (AB) and thats been amazing for me! More people with the same interests in life (western riding). Obviously not everyone can just pack up and move, but Mamas....you need to look after yourselves. If you burn out, the kids burn out too! xxs

I love this reminder. My mom has always been a morning person and I remember the same thing, getting up in the morning as she had been up for hours, doing her devotions making breakfast, having “her” time. I’ve found that for myself too, when I get up with my husband and have some time to myself before our baby wakes up it’s so nice! Just to have a little time to myself is so good for my mindset. I do have to force myself to get up before baby most days but it is so worth it. 😊

100% on the getting up before the kids. It's really tough to be woken up by screaming and demands. I also try to go to bed with the house picked up. Starting a day with a fresh start feels so good. Reading is huge too. We took the TV out of the living room recently and have read aloud time instead. It's amazing the change in the kids when they realize books ARE in fact more entertaining than TV. Exercise daily...husband and I did a competition. However many squats I could do he would match in pushups. I love how watching this video I'm just mentally saying "YES" to all of this. One new thing I learned how to do this week was pull a calf from my first time heifer. Thankfully RU-vid has some great videos but poor baby died and mama hasn't stood up yet. When my kid wants to work with my yearling, I tell her to watch a Dwyane video first :) the lunging with a purpose was helpful!

I'm a mom of 5 ages 17 down to 2. I only have one little one. The other 4 are all over 12. I completely agree with all this. I have a short daily cleaning routine and one extra task a day. And my house stays company ready, not perfect but always peaceful and not chaotic. It's amazing what a well organized space will do for you. I wish I was better at organizing when my older kids were younger. And as hard as it seems, carve out space to just enjoy those babies. Just have fun with them. They won't be little for long. It serves a dual purpose, sometimes just 15min of attention can make them happy for an hour or two. I love both you and your husband's videos. They are so helpful

Well, this resonates... i dont have kids, but do have lots of animals to feed/care for, plus my regular job (work from home).. I've gotten out of the habit of gettin up early. We live in an RV at the moment (economy...) so we kinda do things in shifts... i domt get up until he leaves for work but maybe i can get up and sit in bed at least so im out of his way.. i used to get up and hug him goodbye but with time going by things kinda fall short sometimes...I need to do better. I"ve thought about it but not put forth the energy. Thank you for the gentle reminder.

Not long ago I was curious coming from Australia when Dewayne was speaking and saying 'Momma' all the time whether he meant his Mum or his wife. I soon learnt that in your world he meant you Deanna. I was even more excited when I realised how many children you both had and grandchildren. I immediately thought; this couple is worth listening too. I wasn't wrong and want you to know I am sending the very best across the seas to you. Deanna God has a way of shining His light through women who know and have truly carried out their Godly role no matter what pain or heartache they have been through. You were very, very brave to have those twins up in, I think it was PNG and when the 2nd twin was in trouble, say no more. I would have panicked!!

Hi Deanna from West Virginia. You're offering good, sound advice and encouragement. Keep it up. I'm a grandmother (Mimi) to two grandsons. Second grade/preschool. I've been the caregiver while their parents worked. It seems nothing works perfectly in this life - even though I feel this was an answered prayer. I wanted my grandkids to be close to me and they adore me. I've been here since day one relocating from TN. This yr, my daughter, decided she didn't want to be married. The boys & I miss their dad not being right here with us. He does see them often though.

We are doing our best to co-parent under these circumstances, but after everything is said and done I just want my boys to see that their parents never gave up on that vow. This situation actually brought us closer than ever because it forced us to learn how to communicate and be intimate via letters & phone only! Hands down some of the greatest tips for moms I’ve ever heard (especially moms of little kids). I have an almost 4 year old, a 2.5 year old, and an 8mo old, and I can’t agree more on the importance of getting up before the kids wake you up. Edit: LOVE the quiet corner idea, I think that’s something I really need. Going to implement that today. Just five minutes of silence without the kids after my husband gets home. That sounds glorious and rejuvenating, ha 😅

I’m so thankful for your videos. I needed your advice in my life. Your homeschooling video encouraged me immensely (sahm, home school mama, homestead mama). God bless you💙

I don not have children and this helped me. Your right it is so hard for woman to shut off there brain. I always feel guilty when I take time for myself.

I would love to see a homeschool video from you. My husband watches your husband's channel. He is a fireman but their personalities are VERY similar. We have 5 kids between ages 8 and 2 and we both grew up in the country but live in suburbia for now. He was also homeschooled but I was not. So expectations can be different...as well as personality differences plus varying forms of exhaustion... Things get intense for me some days. 🤪
