This was one of the first games I ever played on the NES! I think you pretty much nailed everything there is to say about the game other than the fact that Autopia and Pirates have time limits too (and I don't remember if running out of time will cost you a life or not, but either way, it will force you to restart the stage). Another thing I always noticed was how inaccurate the map screen is to the actual map of the park; I don't know if it's supposed to be Disneyland or Disney World, but either way, there are a lot of obvious inaccuracies with the map.

I had many Disney/Capcom games growing up for the NES, this included. I did pretty well with the regular levels, but the problem came from the trivia questions. I didn't understand English language growing up, so those questions caused me issues. I just had to guess and remember the correct answers.

you were the first youtube i've subbed to, and while I don't watch all of your videos, when you do a review, i'm always happy to see it - not a fan of tecmo bowl tuesdays, just not me :P You're a classic part of youtube to me though, glad you're still here week after week :)

Hah, I was hoping you would review this game. First game I ever bought with my own money. I guess it was as close as I was ever gonna get to Disneyland.

I actually thought this game was a solid rental when it first came out, although I can see why it's nothing more than a curiosity now. The core idea of a game where all the levels are based on classic Disneyland rides is something that could work in a modern game, although it would need to offer a lot more content than this.

This game was short but I remember it being tough as nails

Back in the day, I always saw the Capcom logo as a seal of excellence. But even I refused to rent this one, and it looks like my instinct was right. Capcom only made a few stinkers for the NES. It pains me to think they chose to release stuff like this and Yo Noid in North America instead of taking a chance with the amazing Sweet Home.

It's probably for the best that "It's A Small World" wasn't a level in the game. Not even Capcom could have made that song tolerable in 8-bit form.

This is the first game I got with birthday money after I got an nes. I can probably play this with my eyes closed. 😂 I really enjoyed it even though it’s shallow.

The two platforming stages remind me of Ghosts N Goblins, except much easier. I remember renting this way back in the day. Not among the top of the Capcom Disney games, but overall it's not bad.

I keep thinking this game is like a super early Capcom NES game and try to excuse it like they didn't know what they were doing yet, but this was in 1990. Duck Tales came out a whole year before.

Between this and Universal Studios Theme Parks Adventure I have to wonder….has there ever been a good game based off an established theme park that didn’t make you wish you’d rather be at the actual theme parks instead? (Maybe that was intentional….)

This game is not at all how i thought it would be, it actually has some decent gameplay.

Rented this bad boy a ton as a kid. Sure it's short, too short... but for my age group it had the difficulty that NES games ramped you up to keep renting. After all: buying a game was universally $70 when video game rentals from locally owned small time stores with a bead curtain in the back were $1 a day.

Hang on D+ seems really harsh. I honestly think that the main factor here when people talk about this game comes down to one discerning variable: kids who’s family’s went to Disney in the 80s/90s love this game vs kids who ever went to Disney don’t care for it. I have seen this same reaction my entire life and it’s always the same result…all the kids who never went don’t think the game is good and all the kids who did family trips there liked it.

Agreed. Grew up going to Disneyland and played this game a bunch as a kid. It’s got faults but I’m forgiving of them. It was a chance to visit Disney whenever I wanted.

I found a game I'd like you to review. It's honestly a more recent game. It's called Legend Bowl. It's a football game. It's on current generation consoles. I myself own it on ps5. I'd like to see your review on it for a few reasons. It's got old school 16 bit graphics, and it kind of pays tribute to the very first few Madden games and Tecmo Bowl. Heck, there's even a full franchise mode. Maybe you'd do a series on franchise mode like you've been doing with Tecmo Bowl.

Well, I never heard of It's a small world ride, because we don't have a Disney theme park here. I don't think they could use it in a game. The Tom Sawyer island could have been the same level as the train one. Bet, you had to traverse the river on a raft, searching for the island of Tom or treasure of Indian Joe of some sort.
