25 in-lbs for the rail screws; 18 in-lbs for rings. The only downside I've experienced is the scope rotating when torquing rings, you have to compensate before tightening and it takes a few tries. The first time I mounted the scope it took a good 20 minutes and lots of frustration just to get it torqued straight. Second time only took 2 attempts...

If someone has an issue with stripping out the threads…they need to invest in a torque screwdriver as suggested in the video and follow the instructions…I’ve used these AERO scope mounts on several AR builds with zero issues…there is always the chance of change of impact or damage if you ever drop your rifle…as for AERO changing the construction and weight on their mounts…those exist all over Amazon from a shitload of manufacturers (mostly imports but satisfactory for the price YMMV)…I will continue to use AERO mounts for lightweight AR builds along with the Leupold FX 2.5 lightweight scope to keep weight down. Thank you for your reviews and insight 👍👍👍

I bought one of these in FDE back when I had no idea what I was doing with scopes. I got lucky and despite pretty much guaranteeing that i over torqued them a couple times mounting/re-mounting, they haven't stripped. I did years later starting pondering the efficacy of cerakote inside the ring surface...i know guys say "modern 1 piece mounts don't need to be lapped" but i have a hard time believing that you wouldn't gain anything based on the lack of precision we have been seeing from so many other AR parts recently - coming from my own observations as well as gunsmiths and armorer's. I've not confirmed this IS in fact the case with scope mounts, but something I've wondered. But one thing I feel a lot more sure about is, I would trust the trueness of an anodized mount before trusting one that had cerakote inside the rings. Needless to say..i tried lapping my aero mount...which was a nightmare. The way the rings work, they walk around as you work the lapping tool around...i may have made it worse by doing this..but the moral of the story for me was just to avoid cerakoted mounts so that my piece of mind is moreso retained. lol

Ive had 4 of these mounts. The first one i got was out of spec as the rings were too small. When I tightened down properly using a torque wrench it damaged the finish of the scope and destroyed the internals where the illumination started flickering while shooting. Luckily vortex has great customer service and replaced it, no questions asked. Aero also returned the mount and after looking at it they replaced it, but with the wrong one. They told me to keep that one and sent the correct one. Its been ok. I'm not a fan of the pinch points where the screws are and the rings connect up top. I like my American defense quick release mount much better, and its worth the extra money and weight in my opinion.

The situation where they send a bad product out is unfortunate, But it does happen. It really sucks that they didnt even send the right part. ADM stuff has been so solid for me. Great balance of weight, functionality and price.

@@CDOES yes, they tried to stand by their product and because it destroyed my scope, they immediately sent out a new one.....but the wrong one. I contacted them and they told me to keep it for a future product and sent another one, which was actually really cool of them. So maybe for my next lightweight/hunting/air rifle build, it will find a home. Although I am thinking of replacing it and the strike eagle 1-8 gen 1 with something better. Its on an lwrc m6ic di right now which has been fantastic for years and I want to get a better optic setup for it eventually. I just don't have a "need" to replace it. Ive got the steiner p4xi which has been GREAT in the ADM QD mount and a modlite plhv2/ on an 11.5 centurion arms cm4 with a stoner 63 flash hider and its my favorite "go to" setup. Have you tested any glass on x39 AKs? I tend to keep my AKs with irons but I want to get a good glass setup for my sam7sf and ACE .308 I think. Im geeking out now so ill stop :)

Its just a design of this particular mount. The Vertical clamshells of the ADM Recon mount is superior. Because you tighten the bottom 2 screws, clock the optic perfectly. Then tighten the top 2 and have zero rotational issues.

As long as you recognize it’s limitations and weak points, they’re good to go if your aim is to save weight.

Just grabbed up one from primary arms on sale for 60 bucks today. It will be replacing their pa "advanced" cantilever mount which I was rather disappointed with. I do keep hearing that it's a pain in the butt to level a scope properly in the mount because as you tighten the rings pull the scope in a clockwise rotation. I have scope leveling triangles, "I can't think of their actual name" where it slides up underneath the turret of the scope while keeping itself level to the scope mount. I wonder if I'll have issues using that thing with this.

I've had an Ultralight on a AR15-22 for years and never had a problem. Using this on a 9 pound .223 and you might never have a problem. But I suspect that using this on a lightweight 6.5 Grendel build with a heavier scope would evidentially destroy it.

I was checking things over afterwards and the scope was sliding back and forth Really needs to be made out of 7075 I was let down because it worked well on my .308” It’s not even 3.5oz so I wasn’t too surprised

@Hill_Billy_Without_A_Hill
@Hill_Billy_Without_A_Hill Год назад
Scope packaging should always have torque specs for rings, and for base. Its definitely got some weak points for it. The screws for base screw into the lugs, which is a silly design. If something is going to go wrong, that would be one weak point. The light torque spec they are listing of 15 inch pounds is a pretty good indicator of strength quality. That is pretty much airsoft/rimfire optic torque specs. Good rings usually handle 22 to 25 inch pounds, and bases 25 pounds. Many good mounts run 65 inch pounds on pic rail mount. Since this is in $80 range, I'd look at Burris Pepr mounts. More weight but definitely a tougher more robust mount for the money. They also put the torque specs on their mounts, which is a no brainer. Honestly, Aero quality seems to be lacking in quality lately on the AR parts. Been seeing a lot of missed spots on anodization that should never of left the factory.

The grouping was awful - The scope and the rifle are good. User error could be to blame, but it is not my first time behind rifle.
