Oh man, my first messed Special trade was a Shiny Aeroblast while we were drunk. He was really really pushing because he wanted a Lucky Shiny. I said I have a 100% and really don't care but I did the trade as a favor. He had traded me a task Lugia from the begining weeks of research breakthrough actually involving legendaries. No Aeroblast, and I didn't notice until it was too late, double check your trades people.
@Señor Muzik so everything you catch in the game rewards candy of that sed species and stardust for the catch, one thing maxed out cost hundreds of thousands of stardust to power up just one pokemon all the way, so when a lucky trade comes in, it allows whatever is being traded to being half the cost, hence why it is so important. A special trade is anything that you trade to another pokemon player that does not have tbat pokemon, as well a special trade can be a Shiny, or a Legendary, everytime a pokemon is traded regardless of what it is, it specifically has a chance to go Lucky, which would be half stardust mentioned earlier, and that trade can have better odds of going lucky depending on how old it gets, the older something is traded, the more Likely it will become lucky. How you manufacture a Lucky trade, is every friend ship interaction up to 90 days allows you to become best friends in the game and have discounted stardust cost of trading for higher level friendships, after that 90 day period, every interaction you have beyond that date has a 1 and 60 chance of becoming what we call a "Lucky friend" all that means is the very Next trade you do will Garentee Lucky, doesn't mean it will be better in any way, but does guarentte half stardust and a Higher Liklyhood of becoming better ivs. So in my specific curstamce, I had a friend we had already gotten past 90 days, so one of out interactions caused us to be Lucky, he wanted a Lugia, so we did a "special" trade as our trade, we could have done anything but went for the legendary, so it was a special. And it didn't work out, so it is wht it is. You have one a day of the special trade. Sorry if tbis was all over the place, I just texted it out on my phone real fast
I just wanna invest my all 25 raid pass for lugia, my god I used it in master league classic, it’s a beast, I’m currently at veteran rank, and lugia perform just awesome, even dialga and melmetal is a counter of lugia but if you can land the aeroblast, it’s just flip the switch, aeroblast should be respected
Yeah once you bait the opponent into using their shield, and you hava a Lugia ready to use Aeroblast, they're in major trouble. From personal experience in using Lugia with Aeroblast, it can do some serious damage. Depending on the pokemon, Aeroblast can either completely one shot the pokemon, get it in the yellow or red range or deal half damage. Even steel types need to be careful.
I don't want to be a downer but I'd just recommend the main games if you like competition. If you just like playing casually for fun and just not really think that much then GO is fine to pvp in but if you want more strategic planning and such the main games aren't even a comparison. They can take a ton of skill whereas GO is just all tanks with bad moves.
@@billyp4352 The two are very different. GBL definitely takes a lot of skill, especially if you want to hit legend. Sounds like the game just isn't for you.
@@Pamijay Nah GBL is a joke. It's a matter of team building and that's it. There's not much else to it. You just need a lot of stardust to over level your bad iv Pokémon and then get the spammable moves on your likely tanky mon and boom, you're good. No one in GO will ever be a "Legend".
@@billyp4352 Nah, VGC is a joke. It's a matter of team building and that's it. There's not much else to it. You just need a lot of time to hatch tons of eggs just to get a specific pokemon with the exact IVs, nature, ability, and egg moves, then train it to get the exact EVs, power it up to level 50/100, and boom, you're good. No one in VGC will ever be a "Master".
Yayyy, finally waited a long time for this, got 2 96 IV Shiny Lucky Lugia's with Aeroblast and finally get the candy for this :) Also my boiii is a beast in Master league making it my favourite Pokemon of all time.
I did a solo raid and Lugia was populated in. I figured I would go with it since flying vs fighting I had the advantage but it wasn't getting the job done fast enough. So I would probably get one good one to drop into raids to allow others to heal parties and jump back in but unless you think you want one for different PVP leagues I wouldn't think you need more than one good and one shiny for trade potential.
@@Jd_hendrix I'm not FLW, but I highly advice you against purifying it. It is a monster for PVE and getting a good regular swinub is much easier than getting a good shadow one.
It would be interesting to learn what the stats breakdown is of PVP vs raiders. I don't expect N cares either way but it seems so many Pokemon get upgraded for PVP.
My hundo is my anchor for ML. It has Aeroblast and does well. The only reason is to get XL as I have shinies. Definitely a great PVP mon to have and solid anchor for PVE
I ended up with a Shundo Lugia at the end of Raid Hour Last year, so I plan to grind for XL Candy so that I can max it out to Level 50 then wait for the Lake Guardians to be in raids.
I invested on mine bc I got a hundo aeroblast lugia. I am not a hard core pvp player but when I play I use my lugia with 2 charge moves and dragon tail. Plus lugia is one of my favorite pokemon.
I took down Galarian Darmanitan with lugia in one shield condition. I was surprised that Sky attack took big bite out if Darmanitan's hp. I mean I already had it charged but straight to red point is kinda weird.
4:54 so Shadow lugia will be a preferred pick? Coz with shadow boost for attacks and even with hit at defence and stamina stats ( already good) it'll be very useful I think!!
thanks my G! Truly appreciate all the work you put in for the community during your studies. LMAO And you know YA BOI lookin good with tha new camera lmao amazing dude keep it going
Oh hell yes. Yes. Either Gust or Wing Attack. Here's the thing. Lugia without Aeroblast can get Verizion down to yellow in raids. Done that the first time Verizion came out. My Lugia team I used then wasn't maxed out and that was before Aeroblast, and we got Verizion down just into the yellow range. Now with Aeroblast we could get it into the red zone. If Lugia got Gust or Wing Attack, Lugia would become the op flying type attacker.
@@sigisoltau6073 Lugia can’t actually learn Wing Attack in the main series (not that. I’d care of Niantic gave it the move anyway, but they keep strict about that - but does get Gust and I saw today that Gust is a fairly new move to GO altogether.
@@qqqqqqqqqqqq121212 The moves in pokemon are weird. Some pokemon with wings can learn Wing Attack while others can't. Shouldn't all pokemon with wings be able to learn it? Though, even if Lugia only got Gust, that would make Lugia so much better. The attack stat may be low, but Aeroblast more than makes up for that. I seriously hope they add Gust to Lugia one day.
Also I’ve been needing this for a long time because I didn’t know how good Aeroblast Lugia was from the raid side! (I know how good it is for PvP recently because of the upgrade to Dragon Tail but before then I didn’t know)
Man shame that they didnt made Aeroblast a good quick move instead since Lugia already had a strong flying type charge move. Still gonna try and get that shiny though
If you show up in a raid group with Lugia time after time. People will try to avoid raiding with you. Lugia just doesn't do damage. You last but all the others are doing the take down. Yes it gets auto picked but auto picks can lose. At least know types and switch out. Or better yet have a team set up for the current t5.
@@FLWVideosYT yes you stated that correctly. You are always ON Point. I was just expanding your point. BTW really missed the deep dives while you were in school. It's why I'm a proud supporter
Thank you. It’s kind of annoying how most guides say “defeat that legendary with your other legendaries… oh! And Make sure they’re shadow”. That’s not realistic for everyone.
Exactly plus you can't even TM frustration save the few times a year.... I had a huge amount of shadows I was saving to TM and it only came this past May for team rocket invasion event.... And I didn't even have that many TMs.... It's just too much work and too expensive to manage shadows
I’m really excited for Lugia Bec of it bulkness I used it against zamazenta and it stayed for a really long time And I also like pvp so Lugia is a spicy pick for me
I have to ask, is it really worth it to spend coins on raid passes rather than incubators? My main goal in the game is to simply fill the pokedex. I have an active community in my city so we beat raids easily even though my mons are not maxed. Most of my gaps in the pokedex are egg exclusive or regional pokemon. I dislike the random aspect of eggs, but at this point it seems that incubators will accelerate me towards my goal the most.
I am doing a duo-Quad raid Since the debut of shiny Rayquaza. And all of them are doing fine. We can do it and beat it. And then lugia came out. The only pokemon that makes us failed in 5 star raid. 😂
Although I do have a question ❓. Extresensory is a very decent fast Move but, I faced a mirror battle with Lugia. I had Extresensory+Sky attack! Opponent had ( Dragon Tail + Sky attack). So should I go with Extrasensory or Dragon tail??
Dragon tail got a huge buff in season 8 to the point it changed the stale master league meta completely I would definitely prefer dragon tail since extrasensory is a mediocre move
@@gamechanger700 Thanks! Although in Ultra League. The lugia I mentioned got me 4-1 average every set for past week. Although I would like to get one with Dragon tail as well. . And I'm really mad about dragon tail buff, before I easily used to defeat dragon tail Pokemon with my dragon breath Pokemons. But now it's almost impossible to get there in terms of damage. Maybe dragon breath Should get buff as well.
Will you be doing a revisit to this since Shadow Ho Oh event is set to expire, and people are guessing the Shadow Legendary is going to be Shadow Lugia to follow it up.
@@FLWVideosYT When Lugia first came out I immediately saw the potential. Now, when I got my first Lugia it was from the research box back in 2019. Before then our group was way to few and weak to do Lugia raids. Back then I struggled to do Machamp raids and the best pokemon I had back then to counter it was Alakazam, which from a defensive point pathetic. High attack but garbage defense. Just one attack and it went down. Once I got my first Lugia in January 2019 I immediately made it my walking buddy. Once Machamp was back I used my Lugia team to wipe the floor with it, by then I had 4 Lugia from the box with the correct moves and nearly maxed out. Today those 4 are completely maxed out and have both charged moves, which includes Aeroblast. Also have several Lugia that have 15/15 attack with Aeroblast/Sky Attack and maxed out.
I just caught two lugia and I’m wondering which one to LV up, one xl lugia with 2050 cp and 90percenf IV or a regular size lugia with 2150 IV and 98% IV? Should I do some more raids to get the shiny lugia or save my remote raid pass?
@@FLWVideosYT gotcha thanks for the info. What should I do with my other two lugia’s?sorry I just started a little a week ago and not familiar with all the infos
FLW, you may want to keep this big potential Niantic issue in mind for signal boosting in a couple of days because I doubt anyone is thinking or talking about it. In the "Special Bonuses" which ends in 2 days, we might be losing "boosted remote raid damage". I don't know why Niantic ever thought that people remote raiding needed to be less powerful and why they "boosted" it to normal levels to begin with. If this does go away in a couple days, remote raiders are potentially going to run into big issues this month. Lugia and the Lake Trio pokemon (specifically Uxie) aren't exactly the easiest things to take down. If you end up in a Poke Genie random raid group with a 40+, a few 30s, and someone in the 20s, there's a good chance those people will fail the raid. Assuming this change goes through, I forsee a whole lot of failed raids, wasted passes, and angry people in the future.
Well when my Facebook I hacked that person got all my information and everything I had to make a new Facebook and everything because I didn't know what to do at the time though so I created a new Pokemon go player
With an understanding JUST how Individual Values work...there is really no issue powering up just about ANY shadow pokemon. Probably should do a deep dive on EXACTLY how base stats, levels and IVs all work together...you know...do the math
In PvP? That's not surprising at all to me. PvP in GO is just bulk and 3 bar moves. There isn't much to it. It's a kids competition at best. Lugia has a lot of bulk and fairly good stab moves. It just sits there and takes hits, reserving shields and then dishes out mad dmg cause atk Stat isn't much of a thing in comparison to moves in GO. Your atk Stat can be horrible but if the move is good enough you'll out dps things with way more atk. Look at Ho-Oh.
@@hughw2377 ah okay. Sorry I jumped the gun. Just a lot of Pvpers lately. But still double coverage in weakness for Lugia helps with Aeroblast being I think better than Hurricane makes sense to me. Again the moves mean like everything in GO. They're way more important than IVs and even like can out pace things higher lvl in situations.
