What I caught that was interesting in the video was that as Perry was in Punk’s face, Punk turns to look at Tony Khan offscreen. As if to say “Are you going to handle this? You’re seeing this, right?” And yet Tony did nothing to deescalate the situation. That kid really is in over his head. 🤦‍♂️

Dude calm down. He told Tony to handle it multiple times and he didn’t. Punk is human and shoved jackoff out of frustration because of the lack of a boss. You’re chewing punk out like you’re his damn dad or something.

I have no clue how Tony thought this would be a good idea. It doesn't matter if you think Punk was in the right or the wrong. How do you possibly believe showing a guy who hasn't been on your roster in 7 months in a backstage fight is a good idea other than to pop a cheap rating that will disappear next week? I think he's just so blinded by hate and instinct that it overshadowed any good judgement. He just made his entire company look bush-league while I'm sure Punk, Triple H, and WWE are having a big laugh at his expense. This is the kind of moment that loses fans forever.

Chris Jericho and Brock Lesnar had more action than this. Booker T and Batista had more action than this. You playing Tony Khan and AEW white knight is not a good look. Why pretend like this isn't something that happens occasionally because like JR says it's not ballet. Speaking of JR why hasn't he told TK that the way you handle this is to get everyone involved together shake hands move on and make some money together. Instead they send Edge out who has had back stage altercations after sleeping with his coworkers girlfriend and JR made them sit down shake hands and make money together. This is 100% a leadership problem.

You say Samoa Joe is the adult and calm and blah blah blah. I wonder if he was that calm during his altercation with Kevin Nash in TNA. Hey, was Edge calm in his issue with Matt Hardy? Yo, was Jericho leading by example when he got into it with Goldberg and Brock? Bret and Shawn? Flair and Bischoff? My point is, when you disrespect a man with words, regardless of what you believe, this becomes a possibility. Issues were never resolved and they boiled over. You're being ridiculous. Maybe Punk went too far, but it's wrestling.

TK is at fault for the downfall of Punk in AEW. He could have handled the Colt Cabana thing, he could have handled the Hangman Page promo. He didn’t do anything. The video validated this point, as he did not try to break up the fight, or stood beside them. The Osprey promo was tone deaf, and unnecessary. No one cared. The insult was disgusting, “grinding the boss’s daughter” was unoriginal, and truth be told HHH is a father of 3 girls. I agree, if he was going to respond, maybe just tweet about it instead of wasting tv time on it. HHH comments were ambiguous. He could be talking about an array of different people, or no one at all.

Literally NO ONE in a position of authority moved an inch to take control of this situation LONG before it got to this point. There was a parade of shameless unprofessional conduct by AEW management (namely Tony Khan and the Young Bucks) that created this whole situation in the first place. Tony knew (and if he didn't he had no business NOT knowing) about the situation with the glass window and how everyone in management told him not to do it, yet he sat there and watched him not only do it, but spit in the face of authority in the process. Perry was RIGHT THERE IN FRONT of Khan. No reprimand. No discipline. Nothing. Khan knew Punk was going to be hot and did NOTHING to prevent the situation from boiling over. Not a damned thing. This narrative of Punk being a backstage problem is BS. I do not recall any situations of Punk having issues backstage with anyone in WWE to where it would get to this level because that organization is run by ADULTS. AEW is run by children. Trying to champion Samoa Joe for breaking up the fight is more pathetic than Tony airing this video. Yes, it is good that he did only to save Jack Perry's arse, but several people stepped in to break up the scuffle. Not just him. The ADULT thing to do (because he was looking at the whole thing and he saw the promo Perry cut that was deliberately provoking Punk so he knew Punk was gonna be heated,) would have been to go over to Tony Khan and tell the "boss" to take care of this _before_ it gets out of control. I got your back. That's what I would have done. By the way, since wrestlers are independent contractors and not employees, they are NOT co-workers. So, Punk did not "assault a co-worker" attacking Jack Perry, nor did the Young Bucks assault a co-worker by busting his door down in his dressing-room trying to square-up that people conveniently choose to forget about. If you think it's so bad that he choked Jack Perry then press charges, but guess what? He gets to do that too on the Young Bucks for Brawl-Out. We all know that you don't like CM Punk and that is okay. You aren't obligated to, nor is there anything wrong with the fact that you don't, but your bias against him is showing in this diatribe of yours. You went WAY too deep into him on this. To be honest, when management is not going to do it's job that needs to be done, someone else has to. Punk says that he kept begging Tony to be professional and handle it because if he left it up to him he wasn't going to like the results. So, _if_ that it true, that would make Tony Khan liable for any "assault" charges as well because he did nothing about it and gave Punk jurisdiction to handle matters how he saw fit. I don't know what Perry said or if he said anything at all that cheesed Punk off, but you reap what you sow, more than you sow, later than you sow. Jack Perry thought it was sweet to damage private property by busting glass on a rental car on a stupid-spot, to curse out several people in management telling him not to do it, to go into business for himself, and to spit in the face of authority, and for his grand prize he got his ass-whupped by a guy that got _his_ ass whupped TWICE by two low-ranking fighters in the UFC (one literally named Michael Jackson) and your boss put the footage on national television for EVERYONE to see. What a complete and total joke this company is..............

Should be noted that after this all happened, Punk, Samoa Joe, and the HOB were all hanging out in the locker room, up until Punk left the building. Then, Punk bought Nando’s for some of the locker room back at the hotel, and they ate chicken. Therefore, obviously some of the roster there did not care at all about what happened with Jack Perry lol.

AEW/TK had stooped so low. The footage didn't change my opinion on CM Punk. It was exactly how Punk described. He didn't throw a punch. I didn't see him to do something to TK that TK feared for his life. It was pointless. It proved CM Punk was right. I had to admit. It was pretty clever The Bucks turned it into an angle involving FTR. But still it's a stupid business move by AEW. It's embarrassing. Even the Will Ospreay promo was unnecessary. Ospreay cuts a promo as if he's in a match with HHH, not mentioning his opponent at Dynasty, Bryan Danielson. The biggest mistakes by AEW was they had gave CM Punk and HHH more exposures. This is AEW's Fingerpoke of Doom.

Solomonster, I like you, but I don't agree with your take on Punk at all. You chalk up defending him as just "Punk fans will defend him to the death" like there's some bias that we can't look past. I know facelocking Jack wasn't the best decision, but lets not act like that was some atrocity that is unfathomable. Also, punk has a history of doing this? When? His fight with Kenny and The Bucks is the only other time I can think of this happening, and its pretty obvious at this point they asked for that. Even Moxley, who has worked with Punk in WWE, said in no other company has there been more backstage drama than AEW. Punk spent 8 years in WWE, where its been proven he was being misdiagnosed and over worked. It was also admitted that Triple H didnt like him. Vince even apologized for firing Punk on his wedding day. Even Orton admitted to talking shit about Punk behind his back. All of that, and more, happened in WWE, and he never had a backstage fight. So please explain this "history". Also, lets not forget Jericho fighting backstage, Kurt Angle, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, Booker T and Batista, and many other wrestlers who have gotten into fights backstage and were never ostracized for it the way Punk is. The only people that have lied about what happened that day are DJ Who-the-hell and Tony Kahn.

I think Tony immediately knew he made a huge mistake and is embarrassed. I think he thought showing the footage would get people on AEW's side but it did the exact opposite. Between the CM Punk chants at the show, "WCW 2000" trending, and even Forbes mocking the decision, he's now panicking. That's why all the clips are being taken down and the footage wasn't even shown in their RU-vid clip of the segment. They know they just had a later stage WCW moment and they're doing as much damage control as possible.

I played football in college for a couple semesters. We had scuffles a lot rougher than this all the time at two-a-days and they usually ended with the guys who got into it running a few laps together after practice. By the time we made it to the dining hall for dinner, it was old news. After seeing the footage, I can't believe that this was ever even a thing...toughen up a bit boys, Jesus.

This was by far the worst episode of AEW in the company's history. Not just because of the footage. Nothing on this show made sense or moved stories forward.

His EVP's are all Indy darlings that have no business being in a major promotion in the first place. Nobody in WWE is interested in signing them to a main roster contract. The problems with AEW are two-fold. You have an owner that has no clue what he's doing, and a roster that has nowhere near the depth of money-drawing potential that WWE has. If Tony Khan acted like a grown adult, and not a narcissistic teenager, he might have a chance at accomplishing something.

I'm one of the few rational people that will defend AEW on social media and online. I cannot in good conscience defend what they did here. The entire situation is fucking sad and pathetic and I feel horrible for Tony Schiavonne and a lot of the talented men and women like Moxley, Danielson, Ospreay, Copeland, Joe, Toni Storm, Mercedes, Mariah, Hayter, et al, that are associated with this embarrassment. One of the veterans HAS to pull Tony Khan aside and tell him this is a fucking joke and he needs to stop reacting to every tiny thing. This is not an AOL wrestling message board, this is not some IWC echo chamber on Facebook, this is a multi-million-dollar company that needs to start behaving like adults. And if this isn't proof once and for all that the Bucks should have been stripped of their EVP status after Brawl Out, then I don't know what the fuck it's going to take.

The match with Penta and Copeland was horrible, Penta was outside for like 30 seconds and the ref was telling him continuosly to get back in the ring, and they focused on it very clearly. The ref had to get Abrahantes to physically pull Penta back into the ring so the match wouldn't be cut short.
