Hell no, they wouldn’t even pull 500k. If not for the partnership they’ve had with WWE they’d have the same interest they have had for the last few years, even if they maintained the current quality of their product they’ve had this year.

@keni95851 Indeed 👍 And it would make sense for a few different reasons if they chose to go this route. 1. Samoa Joe has a lot of history with Nigel McGuiness, just like Bryan Danielson, and they would no doubt put on a clinic in a PPV match-up. Tbh it would just be nice to see two ROH Originals clash for the first time since both had been reduced to commentating rather than actively wrestling. 2. Samoa Joe has every reason to want his world title back after losing it to Swerve Strickland, so facing Nigel McGuiness (who was expecting to face Bryan Danielson for the AEW World Championship) would be quite appropriate. Samoa Joe could make the story about Nigel McGuiness having to prove that he's even worthy/ready to face Bryan Danielson, and this would absolutely help save face while Bryan recuperates and prepares to defend the world title properly.

@keni95851 There hasn't been confirmation of Bryan Danielson being cleared to wrestle in time, but Nigel McGuiness has most definitely been plotting for this opportunity since he arrived in AEW. It's very personal for him, the long-standing unfinished rivalry between he and Bryan Danielson. He absolutely knows that Bryan just got his ass handed to him via betrayal by the BCC and that he's currently not cleared to wrestle, more or less defend the AEW World Championship at Wrestle Dream. I'm starting to wonder if he had the Elite sign that contract for the PPV match rather than Tony Khan. In any case, there is no lie here. The match has been set, but there's a lot of question marks surrounding Bryan atm. Nigel probably resents Bryan enough to want to be the guy to not only dethrone him to become a legitimate world champion but also retire him and put an exclamation point on their decades long unfinished rivalry. So, I'm just suggesting that if Bryan can't show up for the match, it's going to be part of the storyline that's ongoing between them, and I personally feel that it would be a great idea to insert Samoa Joe (who's supposed to be returning soon anyway) as his proxy until Bryan is actually cleared to wrestle. I think most fans want to see Bryan Danielson vs Nigel McGuiness, but who wants to see that match when Nigel has only just returned to pro wrestling and Bryan is currently wrestling on borrowed time due to overlapping injuries that will ultimately need to be resolved before this year's end?

I would say the difference there is that there was some actual doubt that Cody would debut on WM. From the way Seth tells it, it was pretty much a last minute thing. Also, you only knew it was a possibility if you pay attention to internet rumors, which not every fan does. The AEW thing is them being wishy-washy for no good reason. What purpose does it serve to pretend like you might not do a match you know you’re going to do?

For the sake of the story, I don't mind Brian stepping away since All Out because of what Moxley did to you. It makes sense, to me at least, that he doesn't show up at all until then. If somebody's not going to buy a ticket because Danielson is only 99.99999% confirmed then maybe I'm wrong.
