It's a great guitar. I've got the 1st gen model in the same colour, it came with black pickups, which i aesthetically prefer. This 2nd gen version of the S7 unfortunately comes with nicotine yellow pickups, but it now has a 'Coil Split' function for the humbucker (push/pull volume knob). Making it also SSS instead of just HSS.

Harley Benton PartsPickupcover Single CoilBK (thomann code 147362) for 4€. Replace the yellow pickup covers with the black ones like I did. Get some black or chrome knobs too.

Fully agree with the review, I own the SSS version and it gives me the sounds that a Harley Benton unfortunately could not. The neck is a dream to play and to look at and everything else is solid at the very least. I'd say it's the most affordable strat I'd recommend without any reservations. Keep up the good work with those sire reviews, looking forward to the T7 :)

I've never had a strat, but at this price point, I felt it was a great way to test the waters. Im still not a strat guy, but my S7 is an excellent guitar for the money. Very comfortable and feels like a more expensive guitar.

How does it compare to a Fender Player Plus (which is more expensive)? It seems to be better, especially since the Player Plus is subject to somewhat random QC, isn't it? I've got a Cosmic Jade HSS PP but only for the color. Pickups are extremely ear-piercing 😀

Hi Great review. Alternative which I would choose over this is a Yamaha Pacifica 612 for following reasons, better - trem, locking tuners, nut, and SD pickups. Hope this helps anyone in the market for this type of super strat. Negative - not rolled edges you have to play it in over a year or so! Regards.

The Sire already has locking tuners, bone nut and better pots and capacitors than the Yamaha (which has small pots and worse electronics). The Seymour Duncan neck and middle pickups may be better on the Yamaha... but I didn't like the bridge pickup on the Pacifica. Also, I prefer the Sire's toasted fingerboard which is thicker and the rounded edges are sublime. In any case, very nice guitars both.

Nice guitar but I will wait for the upcoming Harley Benton ST Modern. These guitars are exactly what I want from a modern Strat. I sent my wishes to Harley Benton last spring. Stainless Steel Frets, Locking Tuners, Roasted Maple Neck, Tesla HSS Configuration and without a second tone pott. So this upcoming HB is kind like my signature guitar. 😂

Does anyone know how it would hold up vs a godin session? Just I managed to get a godin session in the UK recently 2nd hand (haven't gotten my hands on it yet but it's on its way) and the S7 was the other guitar I had been looking at.

Here in Canada, the S7 with flame top is about double the price to bring in a similar flame topped Fusion III. Wish the Sire used oil & way instead of the gloss for the neck.

Always liked the look of these, but would like to try them out in person first. Thank you also for calling out the "neck nerds" complaining about radius. I have my preferences, but why let that hinder you from at least trying out the guitar? Keep up the great work sir!

You are definitely right the harley benton fusions are great in many ways but they are lacking in tone they look like metal or shred guitars but dont sound like it at all. Imo these sire guitars are much better.

Manchmal schaue ich mir Deine Videos einfach nur an, weil du die Reviews so gut machst. Diese Gitarre hat mich eigentlich überhaupt nicht interessiert. Aber das Video macht Lust auf sie. Freu mich drauf, Dich irgendwann mal zu treffen. Vielleicht 2024 auf dem Guitar Summit?

you're funny, love your reviews man. I love the flamed top, that's gorgeous, but I don't like that it is so super flat. I like how other strats curve toward the edge. These horns just look wide and big, because they don't curve towards the side. I also love a neck that ends on the body side as a curve, not a dead straight cut like this one (I'm starting to think I like curves). Roasted maple is nice, but this is reeeally dark, and the fretboard is so shiney, too shiney! Thanks to your video, I can really see that, somehow I didn't notice all of this from the photos. I do like the sound though.

I have this guitar. I think it's fine for a beginner. The wiggle stick is not that wiggly so you should be fine.

If the wigglesticken is giving you trouble or you find it unnecessary, you can always do what I always did, following the example of certain Mr. Clapton - block it with a piece of wood. That gives you the tuning stability of a hardtail and the option to unblock it at any point in the future, or replace with a better one without massive body modifications. Just don't fall for the silly grift of people selling pieces of wood for this purpose online for ridiculous amounts of money (comparatively speaking).

I have one of the affordable Suhr they called it a fraud now! it's a beautiful guitar I got it very cheap actually the cheapest electric I have !and one of the nicest looking ,deep red quilt top,HSS style. 2014 production date.

If this would come with stainless frets it would be absolutely perfect. For that you need to get the s10. On my s7 I have quite considerable fretwear after 3 years playing ...

The build quality is awesome on these Sire guitars, but if the sound is lacking maybe all the electronics are being put on the chopping block to cut cost ! And in turn the sound quality is suffering ! A nice build and crap sound has to be electronics issues pickups all the electronics must be poor quality all i can figure, this is concerning because i have been on the fence about getting a Sire guitar, you make any guitar sound good Henning u are a great player but an average player does not want to rip out all the wiring, pickups,could be another 500.00 easily. You make it sound great though! appreciate your time Henning and your skill..🎸🤘🍻😈

It might be a good guitar, but why so much lacquer on the neck? It looks like it was dipped in a bucket of oil and not cleaned after, doesn't your hands get oily after playing it for a while?

Sire feels great, but the top end is too much, they sound Hifi... the Fusion is NOT the best Harley Benton series, their pickups are still not right.

I have 2 Sires and they are likely the 2 I would consider getting rid of. There are just too many other options available now for super strats and I personally would not pick Sire. I had the S7 at one time but the QC on it was horrible so the guitar went back. They also do not retain value when reselling. They are heavy as well. Although they’re not bad guitars I think you can do better with a Harley Benton or a Jet or something similar. The Nick Johnson Schecter Diamond Series is a phenomenal value for an S style guitar.

Really appreciate your comments and opinions about the Sire guitars you’ve had, Henning like many reviewers tends not to weigh the guitars they review. The weight of the guitar is a key factor for many potential buyers so It’s really helpful to know you found the Sire’s heavy, that in itself helped me to decide that the Sire S7 is not for me. I’m not interested in guitars that weigh over 8lbs.

Good review. I bought both an L7 and the S7 back in 2022. Immediately bonded with the L7, have gigged it constantly. There was nothing wrong with the S7, I just never connected with it. It would sit for a while, I’d pick it up, jam and think “yeah”, but soon the feeling waned. I replaced the HB with a Seymour Duncan JB, woke it up for rock music (the Sire pickup was probably fine for Country or Jazz). After 18 months I found it a new home. The gloss fretboard just didnt work for me. I [accidentally] bought a USA Strat (much more $, obviously) and bonded with it in about 12 seconds, and play it constantly as well as gig rotation. Bottom line, great value for $600. Not in the same class as my USA Strat or MIJ Charvel, but it doesn’t pretend to be and thats OK.

Unfortunately they laquered the fretboard. I know alot of people like that, but to me it makes an otherwise beautiful guitar look like cheap walmart furniture.

@@MiketheNerdRanger I had the tele t7 FM and felt like it had a chunkier neck compared to the modern tele or strat. Still plays great, but it wasn't to my taste. I felt the pickups were meh too.
