UPDATE: Since this video came out the Air Force has changed its standard on your final score. Now which ever test you score the highest on is what score you keep rather than the old way of your most recent score being your ultimate final score. This gives the incentive to take the test again if you think you can beat your previous scores without running the risk of doing worse the second attempt.

UPDATE: the afoqt has changed the test to where the highest score is what stays. So if you take the test again and do worse you will still end up with the better score.

Hey man, hope you got that pilot slot, I'm about to take this test for the third time with a waiver now. Thank god the AF has introduced super scoring else this would be impossible lol! I just have to pass in the Vocab section primarily and hopefully score higher in Math Knowledge to get better in the Pilot section

Did you specifically study for the pilot sections only or all of them? I would love to become either a pilot or navigator, does that mean I should study for those sections only?

No you should definitely study for all the sections because they all matter. But only certain sections count toward the specific pilot/navigator score but pilots and navigator’s still have to pass minimums and have good scores

@@classgheros5465 indeed. I almost have my PPL so hopefully that helps. I have a few ROTC buddies that are switching to navy/Army since the Airforce is so full right now. Worst comes to worst I’ll try for the Navy as well. The national ROTC commander sent out an email stating that the AF is letting contracted kids cross train into other services because the Air Force is so full. I have a friend that graduated 2 years ago and he is just now going to flight school this summer.

@@TianWho Correct. The Navy has its own test called the ASTB that is basically a combination of the AFOQT and TBAS.

Personally I thought the ASTB was easier for me. I like the science that’s on the astb, where as the math that was on the AFOQT was harder

You don’t have to take the asvab at all if you are going for an OTS slot.

Currently the Air Force is not hiring any pilots until 2022 but I’m waiting to hear back from the Navy right now

@@classgheros5465 hmm does this happen regularly? I would like to be a pilot for the airforce but still need to Finnish high school lol. College grad year is 2027
